So...I just recently visited Toronto and obviously I had to see the Hockey HoF.
Looking at the building from the front it didn't look like much, it was fancy, but you know, it looked tiny as f*ck. So I went into the underground PATH (for those who have never been there, Toronto has an entire underground city that links the financial district and parts of Chinatown and the Harborfront). I was waiting in line for a while to get in so I snapped a few pics of the legendary goalie masks they had on display on the pillars. Here's probably the best of them.
So I pay for my entry which was a tad steep of a price but I figured it's probably an experience that I'd never relive again so I figured I might as well pay the admission to the HoF.
So I start walking and along the sides of the first wall they have the divisions laid out and different recent memorbillia for each team in each division.
Claude Giroux 2012 All Star jersey.
Datsuyk's 2012 All Star gloves.
Iginla's 2011 Heritage Cup gloves.
Moving onto the Legends section, it was essentially the Gretsky room, but here are a few of the pics I snapped that weren't just Gretsky.
Bobby Orr's jersey after he left the Bruins for the Blackhawks.
Gretzky's Order of Canada medallion.
I can't quite remember what this is but I wanted to get something in here for STL.
Le Magnifique and all of his gloriousness as The Comeback Kid.
Moving on, I went onto the next part of the HoF which was...well...
A replica of the Habs dressing room.
Gagne's jersey he wore the night he FINALLY got that elusive cup.
A collection of tickets to some of the greatest games every played...I think but it may have just been a sh*t ton of tickets.
I'm disappointed to not see a photo of Osgood whooping his candy ass.
The 2011 Boston Bruins Stanley Cup Championship ring.
THE KID.
Old Leafs pic.
Collection case and such.
Power play pinball.
Broadcast history.
One of the cooler, yet more bittersweet things that was at the HoF was the golves and stick Crosby used to score the game winning goal for Team Canada at the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver.
My personal favorite part of the HoF. I spent most of last semester writing a paper talking about the historical and sociological importance of the Miracle on Ice so to see these pieces of hockey history was really powerful and such.
Of course it has to end with my fat ass sleeping after a long day and such.
All in all, the trip was pretty cool but obviously the highlight was visiting the HoF. I hope you enjoyed the little mini tour and such. Haha.
