I'm not sure how I feel about the Scavengers. Way too many mullets, trenchcoats & dark clothing. It reminded me too much of my high school art class. Judging by Jadis's hairstyle, they haven't scavenged a descent pair of barber's scissors. And where did she learn her sentence structure? From Cookie Monster?

Rosita has got to be the most butthurt character on the walking dead, man I hope she ends up dying.

Rosita reminds me of the "Cash me outside howbow dah" girl. And shouldn't Judith be talking now?

Doing an essay on story worlds and bast narratives and part of it surrounds TWD.

If anyone here has a reddit account and could reply to the questions it'd be much appreciated. <3

Just spent the past couple of weeks binge watching this. I really enjoyed the first few seasons, absolutely hated the govner but that was nothing compared to Negan and the current storyline.

This show needs more Simon and FAR less Rosita & Sasha. Though I imagine there'll be dramatically less Sasha soon.

Well, we're down to the final two episodes, so that's probably in store. Then again, maybe they'll just spend the next two episodes with the Garbage Pail Kids eating lead and bargaining over metal cat statues.

Anyone want to bet that the silhouette wasn't Daryl, but Dwight?

Anyone want to bet that the silhouette wasn't Daryl, but Dwight? Wasn't even a question for me. But it might be good that Dwight took a liking to Rosita earlier this season. Or not.

Honestly, I've been a little disappointed but not surprised by the extremely slow build to All Out War. The first half of the season took its time establishing Negan as an evil bastard. The second half has been all about gathering forces to oppose him but as of yet they haven't come close to fighting back. Knowing how the writers have done things in the past seasons, I expect no real action until the final fifteen minutes of the season finale where something will happen that sets up season eight as the war between Rick's forces and the Saviors.

I wouldn't be surprised one bit if it lead up to a massive cliffhanger again. This show needs death destruction and anything besides filler episodes currently. Something has to happen. This has been the slowest season. I've enjoyed most of it, but Tara didn't need hwr own episode. The wait for the war is excruciating.

Tara got her own episode for the sole purpose of them going back and getting those guns. Well, plus they had to write Heath off so he could go save the world one 24 hour period at a time. It's like in the Force Awakens where Han deliberately uses Chewie's Bowcaster to setup Kylo being shot and wounded in the third act for his fight against Rey. I don't know what you want to call this particular trope but it's pretty common these days, sadly.
Walking Dead is always this way though. We get a few really fulfilling episodes a season and the rest of the season is your basic run of the mill soap drama. To the point where I can recall, on demand, nearly every episode I've loved from the start of the show. That's how much those episodes stick out. Like, outside of season 1, which I think was strong start to finish for obvious reasons, 18 Miles Out, Pretty Much Dead Already, Killer Within, Too Far Gone, The Grove, No Sanctuary, Four Walls and a Roof, Here's Not Here, No Way Out, and most recently, The Day Will Come When You Won't Be. I mean I'm sure there are a few more but most seasons consist of about 3-4 very good episodes and the rest is a lot of plodding drama.
As far as the most recent episode, Eugene is a cockroach. You have to respect that, at least on some level. I haven't had an issue with this season on the whole, but the last 4 or so episodes have been entirely character development driven. So it's been a long stretch of the same kind of episodes and I think that's hurt the flow of the show. The garbage people are embarrassingly bad. So I think now that we're starting to get into the meat of the drama elements that matter, so stuff like Gregory and Maggie, we're worn down from the filler, and dare I say bored. I'm expecting a cliffhanger ending, one with very little action leading up to it, honestly.

All I can say is I had never watched a single episode of TWD until about 4 months ago. I binged and watched all 6 seasons on Netflix Took me about 2 weeks but I was hooked. Some of the best tv I had ever seen. Caught up and about two to three episodes into Seson 7 I found myself saying, damn this is boring. After the mid season break I thought I would get back into it, but so far. Nah. It's become like Raw for me. Record it. I'll get to it sometime and that's not a good thing. Just way, way to slow paced for me this season. Hope it picks up because I am quickly losing interest

I don't think Eugene was being a cockroach so much as he saw escaping with Rosita & Sasha would've been ing moronic, and he would be dead the second they found them, along with everyone else in Alexandra. Not only is he safe with the Saviors, but he's in prime position to help Rick when the time comes. I think the bit with he and Dwight a couple episodes ago was very telling. They're both Negan, because right now, they need to be Negan.

I don't disagree you can interpret the Dwight interaction that way but the only thing we've seen Eugene do on this show is lie, cower in fear, and survive. It would be out of character for him to be the guy picking his moment imo. He's street smart but not necessarily cerebral. I really think he's going all-in on Negan because he feels safe and it's the smart hand to play. That's not to say he won't help Rick if the tide turns. But I'm also not sure I think he's playing the part and waiting for that moment, either. I guess we'll see. I prefer your way. At least that shows character growth.

I mean, it's definitely possible, or likely, that he's just giving in to Negan. But I'm holding out hope they don't go the most obvious route with it. Eugene is a coward, but he's also a fantastic BS artist, and was easily able to dupe Negan's wives into believing the same line of crap he fed Abraham, and picked up on the plan to poison Negan likely being a test. Then again, this was the same group of writers that had Glenn hide under a dumpster for like half a season... maybe I'm setting my expectations a tad too high.

Well damn! That was awesome. The producers learn their lesson and learned it well, giving us a season finale that delivered everything I could want and NO FREAKING CLIFFHANGER!
Not sure who has seen it yet since it was on opposite WM, the world's longest wrestling show, so I'll save specific comments for later. Don't want to spoil anything.
