I'm gonna order the RSC Bret and the DM5 Bret from Ringside as soon as a transaction goes through. But when I was adding them to my cart, I saw the RR Heritage was at 36 bucks, and the Cole BAF series one was 49! Why so much for those two, the ONLY two I've seen in retail?! Seems absurd...

RSC answer will be "We have to buy these figures from the secondary market which is why the prices may seem a lil high."
They usually will have to buy these figures off eBay to have them in stock on their site. So they might pay $20 for the RRH figure and $25 for the BOPPV figure. They need to inflate the prices because of taxes and service fees.

I get that part of it, but why is it the more common ones are ridiculously overpriced and not the tougher to find/exclusive ones? I mean, I bought my RRH for 12 bucks, and I can still walk into most TRU Express stores around me and get the BOPPV one for 20 bucks.
Not that I'm complaining that I wish the prices were higher on the figures I want to buy, haha...just thought that was odd.
*** Just saw your edit. Makes more sense now, but yeeesh...

Well for the RRH only Bret & HBK were wanted (and they are 1 per case) so they were stuck with tons of Rey (4 per case) Del Rio's & Morrisons. They need to do something to get some of that costs back for all the figures they will be stuck with for ages.

Here's a better question. Why don't you just.....buy it at retail?
I've gone head to head with the RSC crew in the past, but here's the honest truth. They are a business. Businesses want to make money, and the only reason you feel so entitled to complain about the prices is because they allow you to do so on THEIR message board.
I buy from RSC once or twice a year, and usually won't unless I can't find something at Retail or it's not sold at retail. And when I make that purchase, I keep in mind that it will cost more. There's a certain amount of personal responsibility and reasoning that goes on, that perhaps not everyone has.
I pay them more, to get the product that I want and can't get it anywhere else. And I knowingly pay more, because they have been able to get ahold of this product and are offering me the option of sending it directly to me instead of continuing to try and find it elsewhere.
I swear, we have this topic once every quarter.

Here's a better question. Why don't you just.....buy it at retail? You didn't read the post, did you? He's wondering why the figures he's buying -- which are hard/impossible to find at retail -- are cheaper on RSC's site than some other figures on there that he has found easily at retail.

Here's a better question. Why don't you just.....buy it at retail? My objective, as stated clearly above, is to buy a RSC Exclusive item along with another figure I've never found. Be sure to tell me where and how to purchase such a thing at retail, I'm eager to hear it. I've gone head to head with the RSC crew in the past, but here's the honest truth. They are a business. Businesses want to make money, and the only reason you feel so entitled to complain about the prices is because they allow you to do so on THEIR message board. Where did you get the impression that I was complaining about a damn thing? My question was out of curiosity. If you recall, I said I owned both of the figures that were the ones I was singling out as being overpriced. Also, eager to know how you pinpoint where I get my sense of entitlement when you can't even manage to figure out what my initial question was. I'm more than aware of what makes people turn to online retailers, and how they make their money. As you read above, I had that part of my inquiry addressed by WWEKidCollector and PJ. I swear, we have this topic once every quarter. Let's pretend I buy as many wrestling figures as you, and am able to keep track of every single pricing-related question that pops up involving RSC. As recently as last week, the RRH Bret was 27 dollars, and the BOPPV was under 30, if I'm not mistaken. But now the prices have increased, and the hike (particularly in the case of the BOPPV figure) had me wondering why. Here's a better question. Why don't you just.....buy it at retail? You didn't read the post, did you? He's wondering why the figures he's buying -- which are hard/impossible to find at retail -- are cheaper on RSC's site than some other figures on there that he has found easily at retail. Aw, so you mean he probably won't read anything I just directly responded to either? Bummer

Wow. Shredded.
I think price hikes on a "common" figure are simple economics. Probably down to their last one or two, so they raised the price a bit.
Keep in mind also that in different regions, certain figs are easier gets. I have not seen E16 in retail and I live in San Diego (huge market), however I see Yokozuna every time I go hunting and that's a pretty desired figure amongst some boarders here.
Bret Hart BOPPV may be a tough get for some folks and they are willing to spend a few extra bucks on him to have it.
Finally, as someone pointed out, there is presumably far more margin on RSC exclusives than a TRU exclusive so they can afford to sell for example a Pink and Black Bret for $22.00 on sale and make more than they would on a $27 BOPPV Bret because they more than likely paid retail for the BOPPV Bret and (just guessing here) $13 for each Pink and Black Bret.

To answer your questions... RR Heritage Bret: -Released in November 2011 (a one year old product) -This item sold out from our original shipments ages ago -This item has not been in production for almost a year and we can't order more from Mattel -Customers are calling us asking for the item -The only way we can carry this item is by purchasing it on the secondary market (Our cost is $25-30) PPV Elite Bret: -TRU Exclusive, we are unable to order this item from Mattel -Customers are calling us asking for the item -The only way we can carry this item is by purchasing it on the secondary market (Our cost is $30-40)

It makes sense, nice to get a direct answer. I also appreciate everyone else's input, basically explaining along the same lines. I've seen that you guys trade things here on the boards, any need for BOPPV Bret figures MOC? If so, I can check tomorrow and maybe grab you one or two. My TRU express still has them, as far as I know. Haha, not really. Just a curious point I noticed, and thought I would ask. As I said, it's nice to get an answer directly from the source. If you mean how I replied to the rant above, I definitely flew off the handle, I can admit coming off like an a-hole above with the other dude. I just got irked at the notion of asking a reasonable question, and then having it completely ignored and instead being offered a condescending lesson on how business works in America. That, I do not need.
