We might aswell just lock this thread now, its just becoming a People Against Punk vs. People Supporting Punk thing and its gonna get out of hand. Eh. No one is calling anybody names. Its really just an intense discussion. lol. Not my forum though so if they want to lock it, no big deal.

i guess im from the old school but am i the only one that as a FAN i know my boundaries and if a wrestler is on the stairs in front of me it's just common sense to NOT try and shove him down the stairs??? i dont care if he's a "heel" or not....you dont make any moves to push or shove someone who is out there trying to ENTERTAIN you. No one tried to shove him down the stairs. You're right shoving him at all was stupid on the fans part, but if I was in that environment I'd expect the wrestler to be professional about it.

Lets say someone's foot was in front of Punk's as he was being shoved. Punk could have been seriously hurt.

Oh please, he slightly nudged him. "Hit" is completely blowing it out of proportion. He elbowed Punk in back of the head pretty much. Unintentional maybe but Punk clearly didn't know at the time,he got hit in back of the head, turned around saw a guy with his elbows up. It's arguable that he even touched Punk, nevermind "he elbowed him". Watch the video again, and this time pause it at the moment Punk's head flinches forward. I'm 90% sure Punk is reacting to the other guy slapping the back of his head. It just looks like Sunglasses touches him with the elbow because the other guy slipped his arm underneath Sunglasses' arm, and SG's elbow is (unfortunately) coming down at the same time. And even if it turned out I was wrong, and SG did touch him. That's all he did. It would have barely even been a touch. If I lightly touched the back of your head with my elbow, would you instinctively turn around and deck whoever was behind you?

Yeah... nobody tried pushing him downstairs.

Does it really matter if they intended for him to go down the stairs? Point is someone provoked Punk, and he reacted the way that most people would have reacted. And the whole things blown way out of proportion because he doesnt even PUNCH the guy.

Oh please, he slightly nudged him. "Hit" is completely blowing it out of proportion. Doesn't matter. Even grazed. Back, arms ok but why would you even be near the guys head. He was putting his sunglasses on....hence the name "Sunglasses Guy". Why? I don't know. But what you just tried to reason (lightly touching the back of someone's head is grounds for violence) is one of the most ridiculous arguments I've ever seen on WF (ignore my join date).

After been pushed around constantly, and hit on more than this occasion I'm pretty sure most people would react. It's not like it was the only thing that happened to Punk, he was pushed twice, and if you believe other reports hit on more than this occasion.

This link -
Very much makes it clear. The guy attacked Punk 3 times straight. The guy in the black was a human shield for him and Punk couldn't tell who it was who attacked it. He lashed out. The guy who pushed him should of got his ass kicked, end off really.

If someone pushed and prouded and hit you in the back of your bald and unprotected head at a football game, you'd probably turn away in such a way.

None of this "he should be professional" crap, End of the day he's Human, and he's going to defend himself just like anyone else.

I wouldn't blindly hit someone. I'd turn around and stop whoever the it was from doing it.

I'd get a steward and have them ejected, rather than lash out and end up being kicked out of the ground for no reason. Of course this is completely different, but CM Punk is a proffesional, I'm sure he's dealt with crowds a lot more hostile than that, he should be able to control himself, not lash out at fans who yeah maybe are going a little over the top. But they were just excited, it wasn't like Punk was in any real danger.

He was only in that spot for a matter of seconds, how would he even have that much time to warn them several times? And why couldn't he have just walked a bit further down the stairs and avoid them all together?

He did, but I sold it on eBay because I'm too lazy to get a real job

Shouldn't the fans be a bit more respectful and not push and hit Punk in the first place?
