I'd love to know how you justify a wrestler hitting an innocent fan.

Then he was in the wrong place, at the wrong time. I'd react the same way if I was being shoved and hit by a big group of people.

He was under no real threat, he didn't need to lash out, and as a result of him doing so an innocent fan was hurt. It's a shame that it was one of the most talented guys on the roster who did it, but it shouldn't just be brushed under the carpet for that reason.

Well I'm sure that'll make the guy he hit feel much better.

He was punched in the kidney, hit around back of the head and nearly pushed down the stairs at least twice..... Ofcourse he was under threat.

If I was in the position Punk was, I would have moved to a different section in the crowd and let security get on with it when they turned up. I certainly wouldn't have hit a fan in the face. he'd probably also flop to the floor like soccer players. Soccer? Oh dear.

i REALLY want them to do something about that idiot kid that caused it. What can they do? Perhaps ban him from future events? This what they do when fan fan jumps the stands. The MLB and NFL do the same. But I actually could see WWE suing him if he keeps up this charade.

This is why I think you're an idiot. Once he established where he was, and Vince started his promo, he couldn't just leave where he was. To sell the promo, he couldn't keep running up, nor down. He was punched in the kidney and shoved almost to where he fell down the stairs. He was provoked, and yeah, he hit the wrong fan. Punk was absolutely justified in retaliating, he just hit the wrong person. If you honestly believe he had no reason to act how he did, then yes, you are an idiot. And this comes from someone who despises CM Punk, he was justified.

I didn't watch the show, I've only seen the youtube video so I wasn't aware that he had to be there or that any of this was shown live? However, he should not have hit a fan regardless, he should have been able to controll himself and avoid lashing out. He is a role model and he shouldn't go round lashing out and hitting people (He couldn't have been sure he'd hit the correct person anyway), it's his job to be able to handle situations like that. Yes the guy who hit him was in the wrong, and so where security, but it doesn't excuse Punk hitting the guy.

Can we stop the 10-quote-arguments please? The last thread was closed for that exact reason. We discussed it till Death. 15 straight pages. Let's just leave it for now. It was an accident that Punk hit an innocent guy.

Everyone saying Punk should not be punished are just licking his ass; doesn't matter if some guy was slapping him on the back, the guy Punk actually hit did nothing wrong. That's assult, theres no way you can try and spin it otherwise. Sure, the security may not have been in the right position, but for a man who is so high up in the company, to act like that is ridiculous. Showed no professionalism, or self restraint. If this was happening to John Cena, do you see him turning around and clocking someone around the head? No. At the end of the day, the man who was hit has every right to file charges against Punk, and he doesn't have a leg to stand on if that is the case. Infact, I hope he does, so all of you lot can piss and moan about how wrong it is.

Punk should be fined, that's it. Regardless of what idiots say, if someone is punching you in the kidney and back while you're trying to do your job, you would retaliate. If you were in Punk's shoes, you would have done the same thing, and don't lie and say you wouldn't. Again, I ing hate Punk, so I'm not kissing ass in the least.

If this had been from Cena or Orton everyone on here would be like " OMG HE SHOULD BE FIRED" but because it's the golden boy Punk it's seen as fair. Despite the fact that he attacked innocent fans and even if they had been shoving him he still hit an innocent guy. The IWC really riles me with its hypocrisy and downright stupidty.

If you were in Punk's shoes, you would have done the same thing. No I wouldn't.
