Classy move by the WWE for sticking by their guy and taking the blame. As others have said, I doubt anything happens to Punk now. He was acting in self defense, and the WWE is acknowledging it and taking the heat.

a little contact with the talent is OK.
patting the belt, or patting his back, just trying to get a little touch, i think is tolerable, but these people were SHOVING Punk, and when they shove/touch his head, they cross the line completely.

REALLY doubt anything will happen to Punk now, but I guess we'll see if he keeps the belt at Hell in the Cell. Well done to WWE for taking responsibility.

I feel bad for the guy that punk hit. After watching the videos several times, it doesn't seem to me that the guy did anything to deserve what happened to him, I think he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

The fan that was struck by CM Punk during Monday’s WWE RAW commented on the situation. Here is the brief video below… Laura Cole of CBS-13 has posted the following on the story… “Just talked to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department about the alleged incident involving a fan and Sam. ” “The Department says they took a report about the alleged incident involving Sam. They say the fan complained of knee pain. The Department says they will look at the alleged incident to determine whether to forward the findings to the District Attorney’s Office.” “I only had a few minutes with the fan involved with the alleged incident before Deputies needed to speak with him for a second time.” “As of last night, that fan DID NOT say whether he would consider filing charges.
