September 3, 2001 @ Toronto, ONT
Raw comes on the air with highlights of last week's action involving the WWF principals before we get footage of an interview Michael Cole had with Chris Jericho earlier in the day. Jericho talks about his victory at InVasion against Chris Benoit, however questionable it may be, and his win over Sting at SummerSlam before bringing up how he pinned the WCW Champion himself 1-2-3 this past Thursday on Smackdown. Jericho says he's out to show the WWF and especially Mr. Vincent K. Mc(*bleep*)clown that he can be a leader for the WWF then challenges Booker T to a one-on-one match for the WCW Championship at Unforgiven, feeling he's proven himself worthy enough. However Jericho gets interupted when The Undertaker walks up shaking his head and telling Jericho how he never ceases to amuse him. Taker points out how Jerihco is working about the WCW Title when he's on WWF turf and mentions how his partner walked out of their tag team match two weeks ago which kept him from getting his chance to settle things with Diamond Dallas Page. Jericho responds by saying how he had that match won for them but Taker decided he just had to prove some point so he left him to it, and it's not his fault Taker couldn't get it done by yourself. Jericho asks Taker what's with his obsession with DDP anyway, that it was just one loss, and surely he could have gotten over it by now. Taker says he's trying to send a message that nobody makes a name for themselves at the Deadman's expense, especially not some punk from WCW. Jericho suggests he make a name for himself by beating Taker in the ring tonight, and Taker accepts the challenge. Taker tells Jericho he better be ready or he might be too injured to be challenging anyone for any title. Jericho tells Taker the same goes for him and to remember his opponent's initials tonight aren't D-D-P, but rather Y-2-J!
We then get the intro before heading out to the arena as Jim Ross and Paul Heyman welcome us from north of the border at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto. JR remins us we're just 20 days from Unforgiven while Heyman feels things could get heated between the two promotions in a hurry, possibly tonight, beacuse WCW is also in town and will have their own live show from this very building tomorrow night, but some of their roster has even been allowed to wrestle tonight. JR says a number of interpromotional matches have indeed been signed, including tonight's main event which will see Kurt Angle team with Stone Cole Steve Austin to take on the WWF Champion Diamond Dallas Page and Chris Benoit. Heyman says both men are getting their first tastes of their Unforgiven opponents but how will Austin co-exist with Angle, knowing that Angle is going to be the one challenging for the tile and not him. JR then mentions the footage from realier tonight that match has been signed, The Undertaker goes one-on-one with Chris Jericho. JR also mentions that several titles will be decided tonight; Toronto's own duo of Edge & Christian will challenge the Dudleys for the Tag Team Titles, while Test gets his rematch with Rob Van Dam for the Intercontinental Title. We then take a look at the luxury skybox and find WCW Commissioner Ric Flair watching the proceedings as Heyman says how he's like a marshall watching his troops going into battle.
{IN-RING}
But first Kurt Angle makes his way to the ring to address the fans, saying how their Olympic Hero has a huge task ahead of him, a task that he knows he's up to. Angle says he's going to be the one to bring the WWF Championship back home where it belongs as he challenges Diamond Dallas Page in 20 days. Angle says he's not one to toot his own horn, but last October nobody though he could beat The Rock to become WWF Champion for the first time, and he shocked everyone like he's been doing since he debuted in the WWF. Angle mentions he won the WWF Title once and knows he can do it again, and besides, Unforgiven is being held in his hometown of Pittsburgh, which means his family, friends and all his hometown supports will be filling the Igloo rooting on their hero as he scored the ultimate victory for the WWF. Angle says DDP is going to get a little taste of what awaits him, and feels his pal Chris Benoit remembers all the battles they've had this year and tonight will be no different. Before Angle can go on, Diamond Dallas Page makes his way out to the ring and after his posing has a staredown with Angle before he grabs a mic. DDP says now nice it is to meet the man who claims is going to end his title reign and mentions how he's looking forward to their match at Unforgiven. Angle says likewise, then tells DDP that he needs to know something first. Angle says he's not out to disrespect his talent, but DDP isn't facing some over-the-hill wrestler or a talk show host or a basketball player, he's going to be in the ring with a real athlete, a former WWF Champion and gold medal winner. DDP brings up what Angle said about nobody beliving he could be WWF Champion, mentioning how many never expected him to be a three-time WCW Champion, yet shocked the world just like Angle did and beat some of the legendary names in wrestling to boot. DDP also points out what he's done since he came to the WWF, that he's beaten The Undertaker, Stone Cold and Kane, and is eager to add another of the WWF's elite to his list of victories.
Angle starts to respond when Steve Austin makes his way out to the ring to a mixed reception from the Canadian fans and gets on the mic, saying he knows Canadians hate his guts, and the feeling is mutual. Austin says he has something to say to both Angle and DDP, and that's the WWF Championship rightfully belongs to Stone Cold Steve Austin, and he wants it back! Austin mentions the reason DDP has the title is the same reason Angle got the title shot, that "other dumb Canuck", Chris Benoit!! Austin says he's finally decided to accept Benoit's challenge to a match at Unforgiven because he want to get him out of his life, and once he beats "the yellow out of Benoit's carcass", he's coming for what's rightfully his, no matter which of them has it. Chris Benoit then comes out to the ring with his own mic and gets a great response from his fellow countrymen as he says how he figured since the three of them were out he might as well join the party. Benoit congradualtes Austin for finally coming out of his shell and facing him in the ring like a man, because he has a score to finally settle with him. Benoit then says how it must make Austin sick knowing he has to team up with the "Olympic Joke", knowing that he's going to be the one going for the title, and not Austin. Angle says how he and Austin may have thier issues but they also have common enemies and are professional enough to put aside their differences for one night. Angle feels as long as Austin does his part, he knows they can get it done, but Austin takes exception to that remark and gets in Angle's face when DDP and Benoit jump them. Ausitn and Angle come back against their respective opponents and all four men go back and forth until a group of referees separate them. Benoit and DDP then head out to the floor but stare back at Austin and Angle who stare at them in return.

Vince McMahon is meeting with William Regal in his office about the main event and Regal says he has no doubt that Kurt Angle and Stone Cold Steve Austin will completely dismantle their opponents tonight, before Austin tears Chris Benoit apart and Kurt brings the WWF Title back where it belongs at Unforgiven. Regal mentions he even has a special surprise for the match and Vince says it better be good. Regal assures Vince it is, and he's invited WCW Commissioner Ric Flair to sit in the front row to witness it, because it'll be the very thing that finally turns this conflict around in their favor. Vince warns Regal it better be, since a lot of his ideas haven't panned out lately. Vince heads out but Regal just shakes his headd, saying he could say the same thing about Vince's ideas.

Really good show. X-Pac and Tajiri are an intriging team, though I feel like one will eventually turn heel and join WCW. You have some really good angles going on and your match write ups are top notch. I really like how youve built up WCW as a viable threat to the WWE, and I loved the turn by Big Show. I always thought he would have been a good fit in the WCW Alliance IRL.

WWF RAW is WAR: Monday 3rd September 2001...Two weeks before the changing of the name of 'RAW is WAR' to simply 'RAW'. Damn 9/11, I wonder if it will happen in this diary. You could make this into some alternative reality sh*t and save the planet from war if you ignore 9/11! Haha. A solid opening promo from Kurt Angle - whom I believe should be WWF Champion very soon, given that he was being pushed into that top babyface position around this time period. Diamond Dallas Page and Angle having an encounter was nice, then to be joined with Stone Cold Steve Austin - very tense. I like the write-up for this promo. Wow, Chris Benoit and Austin's rivalry has been going on since May, the start of this diary. Heh. A tag team main event set up from this was expected, just to position the main event sector of Unforgiven's card. Up next, a solid opening six-man tag team match with the Hardy Boyz and D-Lo Brown meeting with Chuck Palumbo, Sean O'Haire and Sabu - a bit strange to see Sabu with Palumbo and O'Haire, I think. Also would like to finally see you let go of this Hardys and Sabu feud, as it's rapidly growing stale. A solid win for Palumbo, O'Haire and Sabu after pinning Jeff Hardy, I could see the Hardy Boyz feuding with Chuck and Sean, mainly over the usage of the Swanton Bomb from Sean O'Haire and Jeff Hardy. X-Pac and Tajiri are buds? Hahahah! Strange and random. I could see Tajiri joining ECW in the near future, though. Up next, a fair win for Raven against Scotty 2 Hotty, retaining the WWF European Championship. Shame that it didn't do anything for either man, really. This served as filler, I think. One of the things that is damaging the InVasion Angle in this diary is that whilst the emphasis is on the interpromotional matches and the overall war between the WWF, WCW and ECW - you still get the WWF storylines that serve no impact to the main storyline, and never get recognition on pay-per-views anyway. It makes me think that matches like these are strictly filler, and serve no real purpose other than showing off that these superstars actually exist, really. Up next, a solid match between X-Pac and Tajiri with Eddie and Chavo Guerrero - but I'm sad to see the Guerreros on this level. I think that the Guerreros if used right could be one of the hottest commodities in this InVasion. But that's just me. Rhyno's involvement was nice for what it was. The relationship between X-Pac and Tajiri still sort of baffles me, to be honest. Next, Edge and Christian winning the WWF Tag Team Championships from the Dudley Boyz was great. I liked it! I wonder if you ever plan on separating Edge and Christian, though. I guess the teasing earlier this year led on to nothing. Nonetheless, good to see. One thing I didn't like however, was Sean O'Haire and Chuck Palumbo's pointless interference. I just don't think it was necessary. Up next, a big match between the Undertaker and Chris Jericho, but why did it happen? I feel like maybe I'm missing something here. Nonetheless, DDP's involvement was nice, but it's about time that he finally leaves behind this rivalry with the Undertaker. Rob Van Dam retaining the WWF Intercontinental Championship against Test was expected, although the disqualification finish made for something interesting. Kane's involvement could set up Van Dam's next contender to the title, but it doesn't appear to me like it has too much potential, if I'm totally honest. Diamond Dallas Page seems to be trying to piss everyone off lately, so it seems. I wonder where that's going. Lita defeating Jacqueline to retain the WWF Women's Championship was fair. Nothing special, nothing notable. Hmm, what's the Big Show doing with Stone Cold and Kurt Angle? I smell a traitor...And I called it. An impactful close to the show, with Show turning on the WWF to side with WCW, and Chris Benoit and Diamond Dallas Page standing tall against Stone Cold Steve Austin and Kurt Angle. Overall, this was a star-studded show - maybe a little too big, me thinks. I think that interference should start being toned down, as it takes credibility away from WCW and ECW. Additionally, maybe you should consider cutting down the undercard a little, as it's far too padded out at the moment. I think that it's too much for the viewers to handle, really. So many guys are lost in the fold. I'm looking forward to seeing how you continue to build towards Unforgiven, nonetheless.

September 4, 2001 @ Toronto, ONT
Smackdown comes on the air with a recap of last night's action, including The Rock and Chris Jericho both talking about challenging for the WCW Championship as well as The Big Show returning and helping Diamond Dallas Page and Chris Benoit beat Steve Austin and Kurt Angle. Scott Hudson and Arn Anderson then welcome us to this special live Tuesday night editon of Smackdown from the Air Canada Centre in Toronto which promises to be another big night as the war between WCW and the WWF continues. Hudson announces tonight the Cruiserweight Title will be up for grabs as Billy Kidman defends against X-Pac, and Arn mentions how X-Pac got a tainted win over Chavo Guerrero to get the title shot but Kidman is going ahead with it anyway, hoping to finally put his issues with X-Pac to rest. Hudson also mentions The Big Show jumping ranks to WCW and we'll hear from him tonight. Arn announces that The Rock and Chris Jericho, both of who have been petitioning Shane McMahon for shots at the WCW Championship, are expected to meet with the Worlds' Heavyweight Champion tonight and wonder what will happen, and who if either of them will meet the champ at Unforgvien?
{IN-RING}
Things kick off with Booker T making his way out with his WCW Championship over his shoulder, seemingly with something to say on the mic. Booker says a lot has been going on over the past few weeks, and he's been very patient trying to sort through it, but he's ready to learn who his next title defense will be, and that either Shane McMahon or Ric Flair will give him an answer. Booker also knows there's someone who's wanting to see Booker T face to face and says if Chris Jericho has something say to him, he's ready right now. Almost on cue Chris Jericho makes his way to the ring and gets on the mic, offering to get right to the point and saying he wants a match for th ebelt on his shoulder, the WCW Championship! Jericho says how in his four years in the old WCW he looked longinly at that title, hoping that someday his time would come when that belt would come around his waist. Jericho says he finally wants the title shot he's always been denied time and time again by the Turner suits. Jericho also says that before Booker or his higher-ups spit out some spiel about him not being worthy enough for a title shot, they need to remember that in the past months he's beaten beaten Chris Benoit, questionable or not, beaten Sting, and last week, he's even pinned Booker's shoulders to the mat 1..2..3! Jericho reiterates that he wants a shot at the WCW Championship at Unforgiven but Booker can respond, The Rock makes his way out to add in his two cents and Jericho doesn't look too happy with it.
The Rock tells Jericho that he has something to say to Booker T as well and it does concern the WCW Championship. Rock starts to say how he's angling for a title shot when Jericho cuts in saying how Rock already had his shot and blew it and now it's his turn to step up. Rock admits he didn't get it done at SummerSlam and won't make any excuses for it, but now he's had a taste of Booker T in the ring and knows he can layeth the Smacketh down on him and capture the title this time. Booker steps in and admits that Jericho got a lucky pin over me last week, so maybe he wants to get him in the ring to even the score. Booker also says that maybe he wants to prove that SummerSlam wasn't a fluke, that he beat The Rock once so he knows can beat him again. Booker even suggests he take both of them on at once.
The three of them then get a surprise as Sting makes his way to the ring for some reason. Sintg exchanges stares with Booker, with Jericho, and with Rock which gets a massive pop, before he grabs a mic apologizing for the interuption but he felt the need to say something here, becuase he sees something wrong with this picture. Sting puts Booker for being a great champion and commends him for what he's accomplished, but then asks why he, the WCW Champion, only seems interested in WWF opponents. Sting asks Booker when's the last time he's defended the WCW Title against a WCW wrestler but Booker mentions he always said he'd defend the title against any challenger, be it WWF or WCW. Booker says he's out to prove he can stand against the WWF's finest but has no problem facing one of his WCW comrades and proving himself to them as well. Sting says that's good because he's feels there needs to be some WCW representation in this puzzle. Sting says the WCW Title has escaped falling into the WWF's hands thus far and doesn't want to see it happen then suggests someone who can ensure the title stays in-house, someone like say a former six-time WCW Champion. Booker then accuses Sting of feeling that he can't handle himself, that he have to suddenly swoop in and safeguard the title after he's been standing tall against the WWF for the past three months.
The four of them start arguing when suddenly Shane McMahon makes his way out to the stage to try and sort this out, saying that what happens with the title is his decision. Shane says that Rock and Jericho are going to compete in qualifying matches for a title oppertunity, Rock facing U.S. Champion Eddie Guerrero and Jericho going one-on-one with Rey Mysterio. Shane also figures Sting apparently wants to mix it up with Booker T that much and books them in a non-title match. Shane adds whichever one wins his match will be in consideration for a title match at Unforgiven then then walks off while the four men in the ring continue to eye each other warily.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
{BACKSTAGE}
Joey Styles is interviewing Billy Kidman, Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio at the interview set about how all three of them have big matches tonight. Styles first talks to Kidman about facing X-Pac for the Cruiserweight Title and Kidman says this whole thing started because X-Pac can't accept the fact that he beat him fair and square at InVasion, and he's been on this revenge trip ever since. Kidman mentions X-Pac cost him and Rey Mysterio the WWF Tag Team Titles at SummerSlam and had Tajiri help him get a cheap win over Chavo Guerrero last week before the two of them beat their friends the Guerreros last night after Rhyno interfered. Kidman says he isn't afraid of X-Pac and will beat him again. Styles then talks to Eddie and Rey about their big matches and Eddie says he should be excited to be in the ring with The Rock, one of the biggest names today! Eddie says his U.S. title won't be on the line but a win over The Rock would skyrocket his career into the heavens. Eddie then mentions he's still thinking about Chavo getting hurt on Raw and being put on the shelf, and part of him blames myself since Rhyno did that to get at him. Eddie says he's half-tempted to give Rhyno his title shot just to settle things in the ring, but at the same time he's not going to cave in to Rhyno's bullying. Eddie says he can't worry about Rhyno right now, not with the biggest match he's had thus far looming. Rey says that he and Chris Jericho are no strangers to each other, that they've had some tough battles back in the old WCW. Rey says it's going to be a tough battle for him tonight but he knows he can get it down. Rey then warns X-Pac that he's going to be watching Kidman's match, just in case Tajiri Tajiri tries something. Kidman and the others head off while Joey sends it back to the ring.

Rey tells Kidman they can't worry about that now and to get ready for his match. Rey tells Kidman he has his back and if Tajiri tries something again, he'll take care of him. The two then touch fists before heading out.
{IN-RING}
A jubilant Diamond Dallas Page makes his way to the ring and gets on the mic bragging that WCW has been dominating the WWF ever since war was declared, and in three weeks at Unforgiven, nothing will change because WCW will again stand strong against the WWF, puncutated by him retaining the WWF Championship against Kurt Angle. DDP says Vinnie Mac thought he had the answer last night, the thing to supposedly bring the WWF back into play, only for them to once again show that they're one step ahead of him. DDP introduces the newest addition to the WCW ranks and The Big Show proudly makes his way to the ring accompanied by Ric Flair and shakes DDP's hand before getting on the mic saying the Giant has come back home! Show says people are wondering why he rejoined WCW, especially with his recent history with Shane McMahon. Show says it wasn't Shane that brought him back, it was DDP and Flair, who've always shown him the proper respect. Show says that in the old WCW, he was a mean, nasty Giant that was feared and respected, and when he was WCW Champion no one could touch me. Show says he too grew frustrated with everything going on in the WCW front office so he made the jump to the WWF, the first big name to jump to the competition, expecting to make a new name for himself. Show says Vince McMahon told him he had to be what he wanted, not what he wanted to be, and as a result he became a goofball, a parody of his former self. Show adds that even when I was WWF Champion, Vicne wouldn't let me run with the ball and he was always pushed aside for guys like The Rock and Triple H and The Undertaker. Show says he was in the main event at Wrestlemania last year, but when Austin came back everything was about him while he became an afterthought. Show says when he saw guys like Ric Flair and Sting and DDP coming to join the new WCW, to stand up against the WWF, he decided there was no way he was passing up this chance. Show finishes by saying he's happy to be part of the new WCW and the WWF is finally ready to experience the true wrath of the Giant!
Show and Flair shake hands again when we suddenly see William Regal angrily trying to jump the rail and getting held back by security. However Show insists Regal be allowed in the ring and Regal climbs in then grabs a mic telling the 'traitorous little worm' how the WWF gave him chance after chance yet he pays them back by jumping to the enemy and hanging around with 'this roustabout' Show responds by saying if the WWF wanted to give him a chance, Vince would have had him lead the charge, not those losers Stone Cold and Kurt Angle. Show mentions how The Rock came back after a long absence and Vince wanted him to bring the WCW Championship to the WWF, not the man who's held that belt twice and beating two of the top legends in wrestling history each time. Show then asks Regal if he thinks he's the only one that WCW has sent feelers to, that there are others who got invites to jump to WCW, those who are frustrated with the way the WWF is run, and many of them are this close to joining us on the winning side. Regal says he doesn't know if Show is lying or exxagerating, but if there are those about to betray the WWF, they will be dealt with soon enough. Regal then says he won't let Show's betrayl go unanswered and challenges him to a match on Raw. Show consults with Flair before accepting Regal's challenge, offering to give him a going-away beating. Regal then addresses DDP, telling him now to get too used to wearing that title because he has a special surprise for him this Monday, before Kurt Angle liberates the WWF Championship from his grasp. Flair then ends this by reminding Regal that this is a WCW ring and has a security squad escort him from the building.

{BACKSTAGE}
Chris Jericho is in the lockerroom celebrating his win and being closer to the WCW Championship when Torrie Wilson walks up for an interview, asking about his controversal win over Rey Mysterio earlier. Jericho says tThe only thing controversal about it is that after everything he's done and after all his big wins lately, WCW is still making him jump through hoops. Jericho also mentions Shane McMahon giving The Rock and Sting title shots when Rock already blew his shot and Sting lost to him before suggesting this new WCW isn't that different from the old WCW that constantly kept him from outshining all the main eventers and kept him from the WCW Championship. Jericho says some may have a problem with how his match went down and maybe he should have an issue with Tajiri interfering, but when you're *this* close to finally getting something you've deserved for so long, you grab that oppertunity any way you get. Jericho says he's finally close to the WCW Championship, and he's not giving that chance up now, no matter what the circumstances!
{IN-RING}
Lance Storm and Justin Credible make their way to the ring with Mike Awesome in tow for the next match when Storm gets on the mic asking to be serious for a moment. Storm says he's happy for the oppertunity to perform in front of fellow Canadians, even through Toronto is no Calgary, but that's beside the point, because he and Credible are about to put on an exhibition in tag team wrestling that will show the world who the top tag team is, and it's not those two clowns Edge & Christian. Credible adds that E&C want a piece of them but they're not sure they need to face you in the ring to prove who's the best, because everyone knows that question, and the best about to demonstrate it tonight.

Storm and Credible get their hands raised as they talk about Edge & Christian being nothing. However E&C put in an appearence out with their newly-won WWF Tag Team Titles as Storm and Credible give them their attention. Edge asks the Players about their challenge and Storm first congradulates Edge and Christian on their big title win last night. Storn then calls it a shame the titles are going to to the second-best tag team in the world and they can stay that way because he and Justin have decided that they don't need to face them to know they're better than you, so the challenge is rejected. Edge mentions Storm's willingness to take them out one at a time but not wanting to fight them now they're back together shows what kind of (*bleep*)es they really are! Storm replies that name-calling won't get them in the ring, when Edge says he has an idea. Edge says their tag team titles prove who the best team is then offers to put them on the line to get a match with them! Christian seems shocked by that remark and asks Edge what he's thinking as Storm and Credible converse in the ring. Credible admits Edge has a point and that he and Storm will be willing to meet in a match if the tag titles were up for grabs and Edge agrees to it, saying if it takes them risking these titles to prove a point, then they're willing to do it. Everyone reacts to this news as the two sides cap the segment off with a staredown, but Christian seems a little apprehensive about this setup.

Matt says they won them in the ring and if Palumbo and O'Haire want them back they have to beat them in the ring for them. Sting comes off the ropes and counters a hiptoss into his own hiptoss then hits a clothesline as we see Chris Jericho making his way down the ramp to ringside. Sting then goes for a whip but Booker counters it and hits a crescent kick. Booker hammers Sting with chops then goes for a whip, Sting reverses him into a corner and goes for the Stinger Splash but Booker dodges it and hits a neckbreaker for a two count. Booker works Sting over in a corner with chops but Sting reverses positions and gets in his shots. Sting whips Booker but lowers the head and Booker leapfrogs over him then nails him with a spinkick. Booker hits a suplex then comes off the ropes with an elbowdrop for a near fall. Booker then goes for a Full Nelson but Sting manages to counter it into a fireman's carry. Sting gets in his offense and goes for a whip, Booker reverses it but misses a Harlem sidekick and Sting clotheslines him down. Sting then goes for the Scorpion Deathlock already but Booker is able to grab the bottom rope to ward him off. Sting pulls Booker back and goes for the Deathlock again but Booker kicks him away then trips him with a drop toehold. Booker slaps on an armbar, Sting starts fighting back and whips him but Booker comes back with a jumping forearm followed by a kneedrop to the face for a near fall. Booker hits a suplex followed by a second suplex then goes for a whip, Sting reverses but Booker takes him down and hammers him with rights. Booker snapmares Sting and slaps on a chinlock as we now see The Rock joining Jericho at ringside. Sting tries to fight out of it when Booker stops that with a back suplex. Booker whips Sting but Sting floats over him and hits a jawbreaker. Sting gets in his offense and hits an Atomic Drop then follows up with a bulldog. Sting goes for a whip, Booker reverses it but Sting comes back with a flying clothesline for a near fall. Sting hits a series of right hands followed by the count-along punches in a corner. Booker comes back with chops and goes for a suplex but Sting counters it into a rollup for a near fall. Sting slams Booker then climbs to the top rope and goes for a flying splash but Booker gets his knees up to block it! Both men struggle back to their feet as Rock and Jericho continue to look on. Boooker gets in the first shots and hits some chops in a corner followed by some shoulderblocks. Booker goes for a whip, Sting reverses it but Booker ducks a clothesline and connects with the Harlem Sidekick! Booker gets back to his feet with the Spinaroonie then sets Sting up for the Axe Kick but Sting dodges it and hits a DDT for a two count! Booker tries to rally and goes for a whip but Sting reverses him into a corner and connects with the Stinger Splash!! Sting goes for the Scorpion Deathdrop, Booker counters that and goes for the Book End, Sting fights out of that but both men end up clotheslining each other. Sting is back up first and whips Booker looking for a backdrop but Booker fakes him out. Booker then backdrops Sting over the ropes and Sting crashes right on top of Rock. Sting gets to his feet and has some words for Jericho when Rock is up and gets in Sting's face. The two exchange heated words before Sting shoves Rock and climbs in the ring. However Rock goes in after Sting and the two continue arguing before throwing punches!! Booker jumps in followed by Jericho and all four men are duking it out as the referee is forced to throw the match out! -------------------------------- Your Winner: NO CONTEST (7:55)
All four men continue to brawl as a number of referees and wrestlers come out to separate the two guys. Eventually Rock and Jericho are pulled from the ring but glare at Booker and Sting who glare right back. Before anything else happens Ric Flair runs out to the stage saying everyone needs to hold on a second. Flair says Rock, Jericho did win their matches tonight and are in the discussion for a title shot, but that doesn't mean they get to ruin Sting's title shot as well. Flair says after seeing what happened, he's decided that the match at Unforgiven will be a fatal four-way, The Rock, Chris Jericho, Sting and Booker T all for the WCW Championship! All four men share a heated look at each other as the show comes to a close.

Just as I said to Penguin, I should be paying attention to this more than I am. I love seeing the different dynamics you have placed into the Invasion, with the likes of Diamond Dallas Page being WWF Champion, having Sting involved and more. You've really made so many things different from what they were that it makes this diary really entertaining. I'll have to get into this more as it goes along, but I definitely like what I am seeing and the Unforgiven card looks pretty stacked up.

WCW SmackDown!: Thursday 4th September 2001...A decent opening promo to kick off the show, with Booker T in the ring as WCW Champion. Chris Jericho as a potential contender to the WCW Championship, as 2001 was the year in which he proved that he can main event and be a potential World Champion in some capacity. Ha, The Rock wants in as well, naturally. I'm surprised Rock hasn't had anything to say about WCW taking over "his" show. Sting also getting involved was strangebut I like the idea of qualifying matches being set up tonight. Not bad at all. Joey Styles in the WWF? In 2001, that seems doubtful; I thought Styles was vocal that he disliked the World Wrestling Federation after ECW closed though - hence why he took about five years to become a part of the company. I don't know. Either way, a cruiserweight-fueled interview was cool, and I like the different interactions that Billy Kidman, Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio Jr have with other talents. Where is Chavo Guerrero Jr lately? I liked the idea of the Guerreros joining together sooner than in real life. Chris Benoit defeating Hugh Morrus in the opening contest was fine, not too much to say about that. Benoit eyeing up Stone Cold Steve Austin sounds like it could be a good angle. A fair win for Test and Kane defeating Rob Van Dam and Sabu in tag team action, as the WWF get a win over WCW. Kane and Test having tension? That can't be good...Chris Jericho getting a win against Rey Mysterio Jr was inevitable. I haven't got a problem with that, it sounded like a good, short encounter. Up next, a solid promo from the WWF Champion Diamond Dallas Page (it sounds so strange to say). Big Show being introduced after WWF RAW is WAR is cool, not a bad insight for the Show after transferring to WCW's land. Ha, William Regal behind the barricade. Amusing stuff. I enjoyed this angle. I wonder what Regal wants exactly. Gregory Shane Helms? Funny name. I don't think both names quite work. Are Three Count still a thing? That would be a good comedy gimmick for WWF television after their work in WCW was seen by such a small audience. The Impact Players defeating Moore and Helms was fine, giving Lance Storm and Justin Credible some momentum. Edge and Christian's interaction afterwards has to be leading to a rematch for the WWF Tag Team Championships, possibly at Unforgiven. I wouldn't have a problem with that. Chuck Palumbo and Sean O'Haire with talk time? Only on WCW SmackDown! Joyous. It set up for an angle with the Dudley Boyz, and the debut of KroniK. I hope that Brian Adams and Bryan Clarke are in better condition than they were in real life, yikes. X-Pac winning the WCW Cruiserweight Championship was alright, a decent cruiserweight match as always for these guys. Kidman was a fair champion, but I hope he can recover from this and do other productive, good things on television. Next, a decent win for The Rock against Eddie Guerrero, like there was any doubt at all. So now we have Rock facing Jericho, and one other superstar. It's weird to see Rock beat Guerrero here, this late in the show and yet not main eventing. Oh well. Matt Hardy defeating Chris Kanyon was fine, not a lot to add. So much is going on with the WCW Tag Team Championships division. I sense a big match is coming soon. Booker T and Sting going at in in the main event was good, a dream match of sorts, it could have made for a solid pay-per-view match. A non-finish could allow that to happen, which is good. A messy WCW Championship division, too. Hmm, a fatal four-way match at Unforgiven sounds like the only viable way to settle things. Overall, a packed episode of SmackDown! - my only issue is that the roster needs a serious trimming - even with the brands split now. Each show has too much talent, and too much going on, it's very messy. On the bright side, your build for Unforgiven has started in a good way.

wCw SmackDown! I'm going to try my best to keep up with this again, but you should expect my replies at the end of each week. Anyway, onto the show. Good opening segment with the Rock, Chris Jericho, and Sting all petitioning for a shot at the WCW Championship. I imagine we'll be getting a four way at some point, probably Unforgiven. Rock/Eddie, Jericho/Mysterio, and Sting/Booker should all be fun matches. Obvious win for Chris Benoit over Hugh Morrus, looking forward to his match against Stone Cold. Test and Kane beating Sabu and RVD with help from D-Lo Brown is alright, I'm happy to see Brown is involved in a feud for the Intercontinental Championship. Liked Austin assaulting Benoit in the parking lot, Stunner on a car would is a cool spot, reminds me of Austin vs. Dude Love. Expected Jericho to get the win over Mysterio, but I'm glad Tajiri had his hand in it to keep Rey from looking weak. Enjoyed the promo with DDP and Big Show, with Show explaining why he jumped ship to WCW. I'm happy to see Show on the WCW side, makes more sense than all the turns in the real invasion. Regal and Show for RAW next Monday is alright, but Show needs the win in that situation. Good win for the Impact Players. it's nice to see they are being heavily featured in the tag division. Excited for their shot at Edge & Christian, but I expect Christian will be turning on Edge soon, judging by his reaction. I hope we get Sting versus Rock some point soon, I imagine that'll be at No Mercy. Hmm, solid debut for Kronik by attacking the Dudley Boyz. X-Pac capturing the Cruiserweight Championship is fine, I don't see him holding on for it too long, however. Rock going over as expected, but Rhyno's run-in was like the fourth one tonight. I would cut down on that, even if it is 2001. Okay with a win for Matt Hardy, the real story here is the ladder match for Unforgiven. Should be fun to see how that goes down with Kronik running around the place. Lastly, Booker T and Sting fight to a no contest is good, keeps both men strong with the interference from Rock and Jericho. As predicted, we're getting a Fatal Four Way at Unforgiven. Overall, it was a good show, but a little heavy on the run-ins like I said before.

September 10, 2001 @ San Antonio, TXRaw comes on the air with highlights of the ongoing feuds over the past week including Austin/Benoit, DDP/Angle and The Big Show jumping to WCW before we go to the arena. Jim Ross and Paul Heyman welcome us to the show from the Freeman Colliseum and mention we're just 13 days away from Unforgiven, the next big showdown between WCW and the WWF. JR says they have plenty of hot action tonight, including the WWF Champion himself, Diamond Dallas Page, stepping into the ring against the former champion, Stone Cold Steve Austin. Plus the WWF Commissioner himself, William Regal, steps in the ring to take on The Big Show, who shocked everyone by bolting for WCW. Heyman says it seems like a mismatch, but he wouldn't be surprised if the Commissioner has something up his sleeve. JR says they have plenty of other action tap, including a championship match which is going to lead off the show. {BACKSTAGE}As Rob Van Dam comes out for a title defense, we cut backstage to find D'Lo Brown making his way to the ring when he's stopped by Test who wishes him luck tonight. Test says he's interested in getting that IC title back himself but he's glad D'Lo got the shot and asks him to leave a piece of RVD for himself. D'Lo thanks Test and promises to give him a shot after he wins the title then slaps hands and continues walking. However D'Lo bumps into Kane who says if he's smart he'll give him a title shot, and to leave some of RVD for him as well. D'Lo nervously assures Kane he'll take it into consideration then heads out. = MATCH #1 = WWF INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH Rob Van Dam © vs. D'Lo Brown --------------------------------Both men lockup to start and RVD goes into a headlock, D'Lo shoves him away but eats a shoulderblock. RVD gets a headlock takedown, D'Lo fights out of it when RVD whips him but D'Lo leapfrogs over RVD and hits a hiptoss. D'Lo hits an armdrag into an armbar, RVD forces him into a corner to force a break then hits some shoulderblocks and does the backflip. D'Lo comes out but RVD ducks a clothesline and connects with a spinkick. RVD whips D'Lo back into the corner and follows up with the monkey flip for a two count. D'Lo starts to fight back and goes for a whip, RVD reverses it but D'Lo comes back with a spinning heelkick. D'Lo lays the boots to RVD then whips him and hits a backdrop followed by a clothesline. RVD starts to fight back when D'Lo catches a kick but RVD hits the stepover spinkick. RVD hits a suplex for a near fall then goes for a whip but D'Lo reverses and plants him with a powerslam for a two count. D'Lo whips RVD into a corner and charges but eats a boot and RVD springs off the top rope with a flying mulekick followed by a backflip splash for a near fall. RVD whips D'Lo into a corner and charges but D'Lo sidesteps it and connects with a heelkick for a near fall. D'Lo snapmares RVD and hits the shaky legdrop for another two count. D'Lo sets RVD on the top rope then goes up for a superplex but RVD fights him back to the mat. RVD then connects with a flying crossbody but D'Lo rolls through it on top for a near fall. D'Lo unloads on RVD with right hands then whips him and goes for the Sky High but RVD counters it with a huricanrana. RVD hits an enzuigiri and follows up with Rolling Thunder but only gets two. RVD goes for a vertical suplex, D'Lo floats over him and rolls him up but that only gets two. RVD nails D'Lo with another spinkick then leaps to the top rope looking for the FiveStar Frogsplash but D'Lo is up and cuts him off. D'Lo then goes up and manages to hit a Frankensteiner for a near fall. D'Lo sets RVD up for a powerbomb but RVD counters it into a Sunset Flip for a two count. RVD slams D'Lo then springs off the top rope with the split-legged moonsault but D'Lo gets his knees up to block it and both men are down as Sabu starts coming out with a chair in hand. D'Lo is up first and cuts off Sabu on the apron then grabs the chair away from him. The referee keeps Sabu from coming in the ring as D'Lo readies the chair but misses the swing and RVD nails him with the Van Daminator. RVD disposes of the chair then leaps to the top rope and this time connects with the FiveStar Frogsplash for the pin to retain.-------------------------------- Your Winner by pinfall and still Intercontinental Champion: Rob Van Dam (6:13) RVD gets his hand raised as Sabu climbs in the ring and the two stand over the fallen D'Lo. Suddenly Test runs in and takes RVD down then wails on him but Sabu interupts with a legdrop to the back of the head. RVD and Sabu then double-team Test when Kane runs out and clears them from the ring. RVD and Sabu then back away with the IC title still in hand as Kane, Test and D'Lo all stare back at them. {BACKSTAGE}Michael Cole interviews Diamond Dallas Page in the lockerroom about facing Steve Austin just 13 days before his title defense against Kurt Angle at Unforgiven. DDP greets the San Antonio fans and finding out about the match. DDP says he knows how much Vince McMahon wants the belt off him, considering all the obstacles he's thrown at him since I won the WWF Championship, but he's survived all the little 'tests' Vince has put him through so far, so he has no problem with facing Austin again. DDP says he owns Austin, especially since he was the man he pinned to win this title which he intends to keep for a long, long time. DDP says once he finishes Austin off again, that just leaves Kurt Angle. DDP tells Angle it'll take more than three I's to beat him at Unforgiven, that he's looking to become the greatest WWF Champion of all time, and nobody is gonna stand in his way, not Austin, not Angle, not The Undertaker, not because sooner or later, they'll all feel...the...BANG! (COMMERCIAL BREAK){BACKSTAGE}Johnathan Coachman interviews X-Pac and Tajiri at the interview set, with X-Pac bragging about becoming the WCW Cruiserweight Champion for the second time in his career. X-Pac says only did he strike a blow for the WWF by bringing a WCW title to their side, but he and Tajiri have all the light heavyweight gold so as far as he's concerned that makes them the kings of the cruiserweights. X-Pac says he's gonna watch his pal Tajiri give Billy Kidman's pet midget Rey Mysterio a good thrashing, just to send a message to both those dorks that they can't beat them. X-Pac then says that Tajiri is so confident that he's gonna beat Rey that he's even willing to put the Light Heavyweight Title on the line tonight! Tajiri reacts as if this was news to him, but X-Pac assures him that he's better than him, since he knows Rey from experience. X-Pac tells Tajiri there's no way anybody will beat them and Tajiri seems to believe him but also still has some hesitation. {IN-RING}Rhyno makes his way to the ring for a match but first gets on the mic, announcing that Eddie Guerrero has finally decided to be a man and give him what he wanted, a shot at his U.S. Title. Rhyno says he's been in the business for a few years and have always heard how the U.S. Title is the heart of WCW, then promises to rip WCW's heart out of its chest at Unforgiven and hold it over his head while standing over Guerrero's broken body. Rhyno then says if Eddie doesn't believe him, then he should whatc what he does for the next few minutes. = MATCH #2 = Rhyno vs. Al Snow --------------------------------Both men lockup to start but Rhyno forces Snow into a corner and hammers him with shoulderblocks. Rhyno then whips Snow into the opposite corner and hits a running shoulderblock then snapmares him to the mat and kicks his back. Rhyno whips Snow but lowers the head, Snow rolls over him then goes for an O'Connor roll but Rhyno grabs the ropes to prevent it. Snow gets in his shots then whips Rhyno but lowers the head and Rhyno rams him face-first into the mat. Rhyno lays the boots to him then follows up with a belly-to-belly suplex for a two count. Rhyno whips Snow into a corner, Snow slides to stop himself and connects with a dropkick. Snow grabs Rhyno in a wiastlock but Rhyno switches behind him and hits a backbreaker. Rhyno unloads on Snow with right hands then follows up with a suplex and a kneedrop for a two count. Rhyno readies for the Gore and charges but Snow leapfrogs him then grabs his arms and hits the multiple headbutts. Snow then goes for the Snowplow but Rhyno floats over him and hits a German suplex for a two count. Snow comes off the ropes but misses with a crossbody and Rhyno comes back with the Gore for the pin.-------------------------------- Your Winner by pinfall: Rhyno (2:12) Rhyno gets his hand raised while saying Eddie Guerrero is next. {BACKSTAGE}Vince McMahon and William Regal are talking in Regal's office, with Vince saying they need more guys like Rhyno willing to just tear anyone from WCW apart. Vince says with Rhyno going after the U.S. Title and The Rock and Chris Jericho both challenging for the WCW Title, he's liking the WWF's chances at Unforgiven. Vince then says that every time he sees DDP with the WWF Championship, it just makes him want to puke, and that the sooner we get that title off him and back around a real WWF wrestler, the better he'll feel. Regal says he has all the confidence in Kurt Angle to get the job done, which Vince mentions he's concerned about the job Regal's been doing lately. Vince mentions The Undertaker isn't here tonight after decided to go on strike until he gets a match with DDP, then mentions last week's fiasco with The Big Show. Regal says The Undertaker will come to his senses once he's had some time to think, then admits WCW outmaneuvered him last week as far as Show is concerned but he's facing him tonight and will see he gets what's coming to him. Regal then brings up Show suggesting more superstars may be jumping to WCW and feels whoever's considering a jump will change their mind once they see the WWF turning the tide. Before Vince and Regal can continue further Steve Austin barges into the office and mentions his match with DDP before asking why it's a non-title match. Austin asks what good is it to wrestle the WWF Champion in a non-title match, that he's the guy DDP stole the title from back at SummerSlam and he doesn't even get a chance to get his belt back? Regal says he'd be happy to give him a title shot but he already signed the contract to wrestle Chris Benoit at Unforgiven, plus Kurt Angle has a contracted title shot at that same pay-per-view. Ausitn says he doesn't give a rat's (*bleep*), that if he's going to whip DDP tonight he wants the title on the line so he can get back what belongs to him! Vince says they don't need this right now and agrees to Austin's request that the title be put on the line. Austin then storms out as Vince and Regal watch him leave, while Regal gives Vince a look. {ELSEWHERE BACKSTAGE}Kurt Angle shakes his head at a monitor and mumbles "I can't believe this" as he storms off. JR figures that Angle must not like the title being put on the line tonight one bit. (COMMERCIAL BREAK){BACKSTAGE}William Regal is sitting in his office when Test comes in, saying he wants Rob Van Dam and wants him for the Intercontinental Title after he pinned him on Smackdown last week. Before Regal can answer, Kane barges in making the same request while claiming that he was the one who pinned RVD. Regal says both of them are deserving of a title shot and he'll make a decision later tonight, but in the meantime he's going to give them both a chance to work off their aggressions. Regal feels Test wants to get even with Sabu for his interference in D'Lo Brown's match so he gives him a Hardcore Title match. Regal then tells Kane that he'll have an opponent for him as well then asks both men to leave his office since he has his own business to worry about. = MATCH #3 = WWF LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH Tajiri © (w/X-Pac) vs. Rey Mysterio (w/Billy Kidman) --------------------------------Rey comes out first with Kidman as Heyman mentions Rey's short time in ECW and how he's always wanted to see these two fight. Tajiri comes out next but Rey nails him with baseball slide before he climbs in the ring. X-Pac tries to help Tajiri up when Rey goes out to the apron and connects with an Asai moonsault that wipes out both guys. Rey throws Tajiri in the ring to start the match proper then springboards off the top rope and hits a flying headscissors. Rey gets a waistlock, Tajiri switches behind him and goes for a suplex but Rey flips out of it then comes off the ropes and gets a bodyscissors into a bulldog for a two count. Rey goes for a whip but Tajiri reverses it and X-Pac trips him from the floor. Rey takes a swipe at X-Pac but turns around and Tajiri nails him with a clothesline. Tajiri lays the boots to Rey then whips him, Rey slides under him and catches a kick then backflips him but Tajiri comes back with a thrust kick. Tajiri chokes Rey in the ropes while X-Pac trash talks him then whips him and hits a flapjack. Tajiri whips Rey but misses a clothesline and Rey gets him in a backslide for a two count as Kidman cheers him on. Rey gets in some kicks and goes for a whip, Tajiri reverses it but lowers the head and Rey gets a Sunset Flip for a near fall. Tajiri trips Rey with a footsweep and catapults him into the ropes but Rey goes over them and lands on the apron. Rey then springboards off the top rope but Tajiri nails him with a kick to the face in midair! Both men get to their feet when Tajiri hits another kick that sends Rey out to the floor.
Tajiri leaps off the apron and nails Rey with a sledge then hits a Russin legsweep on the floor. Tajiri climbs back in the ring and X-Pac gets in some shots until Kidman decks him. The referee sees this and ejects both X-Pac and Kidman from ringside. Tajiri brings Rey back in the ring and puts him in a bow-and-arrow around the ringpost. Tajiri ties Rey in a Tree of Woe then connects with a baseball slide to the face for a two count. Tajiri whips Rey and goes for a tilt-o-whirl but Rey lands on his feet and starts fighting back. Both men go back and forth when Tajiri takes control and goes for a powerbomb but Rey counters it int a swinging DDT! Rey whips Tajiri into a corner but Tajiri lifts himself over Rey and gets him in the Tarantula. Tajiri goes for the buzzsaw kick but Rey ducks it then takes him down into a rollup for a two count. Rey goes for a whip but Tajiri counters it into a powerbomb for a near fall. Tajiri scoops Rey up but Rey floats over him and dropkicks him into the ropes then connects with the 619! Tajiri then springboards off the top rope and gets a Sunset Flip but Tajiri sits down on the shoulders and gets a two count. Tajiri climbs to the top rope but Rey is also up and goes up to meet him. The two go back and forth as X-Pac starts coming back down the ramp. The referee goes out to meet him while Kidman also comes out and argues with X-Pac. Back in the ring Rey gets Tajiri with a Frankensteiner from the top rope! However the referee is still busy with X-Pac and Billy to count it. Rey lets go to see what's up when X-Pac hops on the apron but Rey knocks him back off. Rey then turns around but Tajiri catches him with the mist to the face. Rey is flailing around blindly as Tajiri connects with the buzzsaw kick to the face and grabs the pin to retain.-------------------------------- Your Winner by pinfall and still Light Heavyweight Champion: Tajiri (6:57) X-Pac goes in the ring and raises Tajiri's hand when Kidman goes in the ring and tries to take on both men. However Tajiri nails him with the buuzaw kick and X-Pac follows up with the X-Factor. X-Pac and Tajiri then walk off leaving Kidman and Rey in the ring. {BACKSTAGE}William Regal is in his ring gear preparing for his match when Kurt Angle barges in the room, asking why Austin is getting a title shot when he's scheduled to challenge DDP at Unforgiven? Regal explains how Vince McMahon granted Austin's request for the title to be put on the line, feeling this was a great oppertunity to see how tought DDP really is when it comes to defending the WWF Championship. Regal assures Angle he's still the #1 contender for Unforgiven which means that no matter what happens, he will still get his title shot, it just may be against Austin instead of DDP. Angle says he was looking forward to showing his prowess against WCW's elite, something Austin hasn't been able to do successfully, and wanted the chance to be the WWF's hero in his hometown. Angle feels Austin can't stand anyone but him being in the spotlight but Regal reiterates that it was Vince's decision, not his. Regal then says even if Austin doesn't win the title, he'll soften DDP up for him to finish the job in 13 days. Regal reminds Austin he gave him the night off so he wouldn't overwork himself before ur big match at Unforgiven and asks him to just relax and enjoy the show. Angle reluctantly agrees to Regal's suggestions and heads out while Regal is left looking exasperated before heading to the ring. (COMMERCIAL BREAK){BACKSTAGE}Michael Cole is standing by for an interview as he brings in Chris Jericho and discusses getting a shot at the WCW Championship in a fatal fourway with The Rock, Booker T and Sting. Jericho says he is indeed going into battle to finally claim the title he should have held a long time ago. Jericho says people may think it's 2 WWF guys against 2 WCW guys but Shane McMahon intentionally set this up to try and deny him the title because he knows it'll be every man for himself. Jericho then says it's funny how two of those guys don't deserve to be in there, since Rock had his chance and couldn't get it done, and Sting got in the match when he was beaten fairly at SummerSlam by him 1-2-3. Jericho feels he's the only one who should be challenging for the title and accuses Shane of mimicing the WCW of old by coming up with some excuse to keep him from the top. Jericho says nothing will keep Y2J from his destiny of becoming WCW Champion, and showing the world what could have been under the Ted Turner umbrella, and once the dust settles, none of them will ever...ever be the same again! {IN-RING}William Regal makes his way out for his match but first gets on the mic ranting about he and the WWF being betrayed by a "big, useless, disgusting, filthy beast of a man", The Big Show! Regal demands Show get to the ring right now, so he can show him what happens to people who besmirch his power. = MATCH #4 = William Regal vs. The Big Show --------------------------------Both men have a staredown to start and feel each other out when Regal bails out to the floor. Regal stalls on the floor as Show demands he get in the ring. Suddenly Billy Gunn and Albert run in and jump Show from behind! The two double-team Show until Show shoves them away and takes out each man with a short-arm clothesline. Regal comes back in the ring and gets in his shots but Show shrugs them off and shoves him into a corner then hits his big chops. Show tosses Regal across the ring when Albert tries to save him but Show grabs him and hits the chokeslam. Regal waves out some more help when Perry Saturn, K-Kwik and Kaientai also run out and help Billy gang up on Show. The group hammers away at Show in a corner while Regal watches from the floor when Show powers out of it, sending everyone flying. Show boots down Billy, headbutts K-Kwik, clotheslines Saturn and knocks both Kaientai members over the ropes. Show then chokeslams Saturn and K-Kwik simultaneously before finishing Billy off with the Final Cut. Regal comes back in and hits Show with a low blow then goes for his inverted neckbreaker but Show backs him into a corner to stop him. Show whips Regal into the opposite corner and hits an Avalanche then follows up with a chokeslam and gets the three!-------------------------------- Your Winner by pinfall: The Big Show (2:06) Show gets his hand raised and gives Regal some parting words then departs the ring. Show starts to head up the ramp when Regal recovers then gets on the mic saying this isn't over yet. Regal swears to find someone to take Show down and Show chuckles before going over and getting another mic, saying if Regal can find someone foolish enough to step in the ring with him, he'll happily take them on at Unforgiven. Show then walks off while Regal stares daggers at him. {BACKSTAGE}Edge & Christian are conversing in the lockerroom about their match tonight, with Edge saying they're going to show the Impact Players what they're in for come Unforgiven. Christian responds by asking if they should risk their tag team titles against them and Edg ementions it was the only way to get them to agree to the match. Christian says how they just won these titles for the eighth time and should be enjyoing them for a while. Christian then suggests they do a special 5-second pose since they haven't done one in a while but Edge wonders if all those poses do is make them look like a bunch of goofballs. Christian is stunned by this remark and feels Edge has changed then asks what happened to his partner. Edge responds by saying that after [Christian] was taken out he had to fend for himself and maybe he grew up a little. Edge says their match is next and heads out while Christian shakes his head and follows him. (COMMERCIAL BREAK){BACKSTAGE}A defeated William Regal is trudging back to his office when he hears someone snickering at him and finds Tazz standing hearby then asks if something is funny. Tazz says what's funny was Regal's dumb plan of thinking he was just going to use a bunch of scrubs to beat someone like Big Show. Tazz suggests Regal leave the fighting to the real wrestlers and even offers to be his chosen champion for Unforvigen if he asks real nice. Regal snaps back that he wouldn't trust Tazz with his tea, then decides that since he seems to lack respect for he commissioner, he'd be the perfect opponent for Kane tonight. Regal walks off while asking who's laughing now and Tazz gives him a look. = MATCH #5 = NON-TITLE MATCH Edge & Christian © vs. Crash & Hardcore Holly --------------------------------Edge & Christian make their way to the ring where their opponents are already waiting. Edge looks to start off against Hardcore but looks back to see Lance Storm and Justin Credible watching from the crowd. However that gives Hardcore the opening to get in the first shots. Hardcore whips Edge and goes for a backdrop but Edge lands on his feet then comes off the ropes with a spinning heelkick. Edge hits a backdrop followed by a clothesline then whips Hardcore and hits a dropkick. Crash tags in when Hardcore starts to rally but misses a right hand and Christian hits a Russian legsweep. Christian comes off the ropes but Hardcore ducks a clothesline and hot shots him on the ropes. Hardcore then drapes Christian on the top rope and kicks him in the chest then follows up with a short-arm clothesline for a two count. Crash tags in and stomps away on Christian then comes off the ropes with a legdrop for a two count. Crash whips Christian but lowers the head but Christian lapfrogs over him and hits a flying foream for a two count. Christian tags Edge and whips Crash into a corner, Edge drops to the mat and Christian launches off him with the crossbody. Edge snapmares Crash and slaps on a chinlock while yelling out at Storm and Credible who are still watching from the stage. Crash fights out of it and comes off the ropes, Edge goes for a backdrop but Crash lands on his feet. Crash goes for a tornado bulldog but Edge shoves him into a right hand from Christian. Christian tags in and goes for a whip, Crash reverses it but Christian floats over him and hits the Slop Drop on the knee. Christian goes for the Unprettier when Crash shoves him away and Hardcore snaps his neck on the top rope. Crash then rolls Christian up but Edge makes the save. Hardcore is alo in and all four men are duking it out. Crash wails on Christian in a corner but Christian backdrops him over the ropes. Hardcore sets Edge up for the Alabama Slam but Christian pulls him off to safety and both men hit a double DDT. Crash climbs back in the ring but Edge meets him with the Spear! Christian nails Hardcore with the Unprettier while Edge drills Crash with the Impailer and Christian grabs the pin.-------------------------------- Your Winners by pinfall: Edge & Christian (4:05) E&C get their arms raised then hold up their belts as Storm and Credible applaud them from the crowd. Edge then dares their opponents for Unforgiven to come face them now but Storm and Credible decline, saying they can wait two more weeks, then walk off. {BACKSTAGE}X-Pac and Tajiri are celebrating their win then Billy Kidman and Rey Mysterio walk up to them, with X-Pac asking what they want now. X-Pac says Tajiri gave Rey his match and it's not his fault Rey got his (*bleep*) kicked then asks why they just can't admit he and Tajiri are the superior of the two sides. Kidman says 'two' is the key word, because it seems like it takes both X-Pac and Tajiri to beat each of them and they wand to see what happens when the sides are even. Rey challenges X-Pac and Tajiri to a tag team match to see how they handle both of them at the same time and X-Pac says they'll think about it and get back to them on Smackdown. X-Pac and Tajiri then head out while Kidman and Rey stare at them. (COMMERCIAL BREAK){BACKSTAGE}Lita meets up with Matt and Jeff Hardy in the lockerroom and after exchanging pleasantries Lita talks about how she's a little worried about friends. Lita mentions she saw what happened to them on Smackdown and asks if they're sure they want to go ahead with this ladder match. Jeff tells Lita how they've been in ladder matches before but Lita points out it's only been against WWF guys and now WCW guys. Lita mentions how Chuck Palumbo and Sean O'Haire have been attacking them left and right ever since they won the WCW Tag Team Titles and now they're going to face them in a ladder match at Unforgiven. Lita also brings up Palumo and O'Haire calling in Kronik to take out the Dudleys and the other WCW guys after them before asking if the WCW titles are worth that much? Matt says the Hardys are out to show that they're the best tag team in the world. Matt says they've done everything they could with the WWF tag titles and now they want to see where the WCW tag titles take them, even if means being willing to take on the best WCW has to offer in whatever matches comes their way. Jeff adds they're not going to get bullied into giving up the belts, and if Palumbo and O'Haire they want the titles back they're going to have to do it the right way, beating them in a match. Matt and Jeff walk off while Lita agrees with what they said. {RINGSIDE}The annoucners talk about the ladder match for the WCW Tag Team Titles to take place at Unforgiven, with Heyman saying Lita has real reason to be worried about her boyfriend and other friend, especially after what happened to the Dudleys last week. As JR narrates, footage is shown from Smackdown of the Dudleys confronting Chuck Palumbo and Sean O'Haire, only to get ambushed by the debuting Kronik and beaten down 4-on-2. JR also mentions the Dudleys will be out several weeks as a result. = MATCH #6 = Kane vs. Tazz --------------------------------Both men lockup to start when Kane shoves Tazz into a corner but Tazz slips out and gets in the first shots. Tazz goes for a whip, Kane reverses it and Tazz grabs him with a waistlock but Kane elbows out of it. Kane whips Tazz looking for a backdrop but Tazz fakes him out and bails out to the floor. Kane goes out after Tazz but looks over and sees Rob Van Dam watching on the stage. That allows Tazz to trip him into the steps with a drop toehold and wail away on him. Tazz rolls Kane back in the ring then whips him but lowers the head and Kane hits an uppercut. Kane goes for a whip, Tazz reverses him into a corner and charges but Kane sidesteps him and hits a sidewalk slam. Kane scoops Tazz up but Tazz manages to slip out of there and hits a T-bone Tazplex. Tazz manages to snapmare Kane and hammers him with crossface shots then chokes him on the ropes and hits another Tazplex. Tazz goes for a whip but Kane counters it with a short-arm clothesline. Kane slams Tazz then climbs to the top rope looking for the flying clothesline when RVD comes down and gets his attention, allowing Tazz to bump the ropes, causing Kane to straddle the top turnbuckle. Tazz goes up and manages to hit a superplex but only gets a two count out of it. Tazz then goes for the Tazzmission but can't get it locked in and Kane fights out of it. Kane then grabs Tazz and hits the chokeslam for the pin.-------------------------------- Your Winner by pinfall: Kane (3:05) Kane barely has time to get his arm raised when RVD runs in and throws a chair at Kane before laying him out with the Van Daminator. RVD then leaps to the top rope and connects with the FiveStar Frogsplash for good measure before running off. (COMMERCIAL BREAK)JR and Heyman talk about the Unforgiven card thus far, including the fatal fourway for the WCW Championship as JR interviews The Rock over the TitanTron. Rock starts with the usual and says how he'll will once again challenge for the WCW Championship, will once again step in the ring with Booker T, and will once again be looking to make history. Rock says he heard what Chris Jericho said about him, how he doesn't deserve another shot after losing his match at SummerSlam. Rock says he never made any excuses for that loss, that he owned up to it and admitted Booker T was the better man that night. Rock says that September 23rd is another night and another chance for him to pull off what has never been done before, become the first active WWF wrestler to hold the WCW Championship. Rock then mentions that in addition to Chris Jericho and Booker T, there's Sting, often considered one of the greatest, if not the greatest WCW Champion of all time! Rock says he's very familiar with everyting Sting has accomplished, and has a great deal of respect for him but nobody will stand in the way of his destiny, not even Sting, if he smells what The Rock is cooking! = MATCH #7 = WWF HARDCORE CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH Sabu © vs. Test --------------------------------Test comes out first and throws some plunder in the ring. Once Sabu comes out both men waste no time duking it out and Test gets the advantage then whips Sabu and hits an elbow followed by an elbowdrop for a two count. Test grabs a trash can but Sabu is up and dropkicks it into Test's face. Sau lays the boots to Test then comes off the ropes with a legdrop for a near fall. Sabu goes for a whip but Test reverses it and hits a tilt-o-whirl slam for another near fall. Test pounds on Sabu in a corner then whips him but Sabu comes back with a flying headscissors. Sabu tosses Test through the ropes then slings himself over and connects with a somersault senton. Sabu grabs a chair and throws it into Test's face then springs off the apron with an Asai moonsault for a two count on the floor. Sabu rolls Test in the ring along with the chair then sets Test in a corner before setting the chair up and lauching off it for Air Sabu. Sabu then goes for a tornado bulldog but Test shoves him off onto a trash can. Test connects with a series of clotheslines then whips him but lowers the head and Sabu kicks the face. Sabu comes off the ropes but misses a clothesline and Test hits the Full Nelson slam. Test sets Sabu up for the pump-handle slam when Rob Van Dam runs in and breaks it up. RVD wails on Test as the referee is unable to do anything about it. Suddenly Kane runs in and pounces on RVD then tosses him over the ropes while Test nails Sabu with the big boot. Kane goes after RVD on the floor and Test joins him while D'Lo Brown runs in the ring and whacks Sabu with a trash can. D'Lo and Sabu duke it out when Sabu gets the advantage then grabs the chair but Test is back in and boots it Sabu's face. D'Lo nails Sabu with the Sky High then looks to cover him but looks at Test who tells him "go ahead". So D'Lo covers Sabu as Test tells the referee to count 1..2..3 and thanks to the 24/7 rule D'Lo has won the title! -------------------------------- Your Winner by pinfall and NEW Hardcore Champion: D'Lo Brown (3:55) Test hands the Hardcore Title pver to D'Lo while saying he'll get the title he really wants soon enough. RVD then pulls Sabu out of the ring and helps him to the back while Test and Kane glare back at him. {BACKSTAGE}Steve Austin is walking somewhere when he bumps into Kurt Angle and they exchange heated looks. Austin says he heard Angle doesn't like him getting a title shot tonight but doean't care about his feelings because the WWF Championship rightfully belongs to Stone Cold Steve Austin, and he's getting it back tonight. Austin tells Angle not to worry his pretty little head, he'll get his title shot after he gets done whipping Chris Benoit's (*beelp*). Austin says he will be WWF Champion again, and if Angle is smart he'll stay out of his business. Austin walks off while Angle glares at him, saying Austin's business just happens to be his business and he may just emphazise that point, it's true. (COMMERCIAL BREAK){BACKSTAGE}Rob Van Dam and Sabu are looking to leave the building when William Regal walks up to them, saying how sorry he is for Sabu losing the Hardcore Title but sometimes those are the breaks. Regal feels RVD must really be interested in fighting both Kane and Test, so he's decided the best way to settle this is for him to defend the Intercontinental Title at Unforgiven against both men in a triple-threat match. Regal wishes both men a good night while asking them to tell The Big Show that he'll have my chosen challenger soon enough. Regal walks off while RVD and Sabu glare back at him. {RINGSIDE}JR and Heyman buzz about the main event, with Heyman asking how the complextion of Unforgiven might change should Austin win the title back tonight. Suddenly Kurt Angle makes his way out and joins the announcers to do some guest commentary, saying he may have had the night off but he has a vested interest in this match. = MAIN EVENT = WWF WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH Diamond Dallas Page © vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin --------------------------------DDP makes his way out first when Austin ambushes him on the ramp to jump-start the match. Austin pounds on DDP then goes for a whip but DDP revereses him into the steps. DDP clotheslines Austin over the barricade then climbs in the ring and waits for Austin to join him. Austin makes his way over the barricade then DDP moves in but Austin snaps his neck on the ropes then goes in to start the match proper. Austin pounds on DDP then goes for a whip, DDP reverses it but Austin comes back with the Thesz Press. Austin unloads on DDP with the rights then caps off with the elbowdrop off the ropes. Austin stomps DDP down in a corner and chokes him with his boot then chokes him on the middle rope. Austin then goes for the straddle but DDP dodges it and Austin gets caught in the ropes. DDP is able to get in his offense and goes for a whip, Ausitn reverses it but DDP ducks a clothesline and hits a discus punch. DDP hits a suplex followed by a series of elbowdrops for a two count. DDP snapmares Austin to the mat and slaps on a chinlock, Austin fights out of it and shoves DDP away but DDP comes back with a forearm. DDP slaps on an armbar, Austin manages to whip him and goes for antoehr Thesz Press but DDP fakes him out and rolls him up for a near fall. Austin starts fighting back and whips DDP but lowers the head and DDP hits an uppercut followed by an armbar takedown. DDP works Austin over in a corner the goes for a whip but Austin counters it with a Stun Gun on the bottom rope.
Austin lays the boots to DDP then whips him and hits a knee to the chest followed by a clothesline. Austin slams DDP then hops to the middle rope and hits a flying sledge but only gets a two count. Austin then readies himself and goes for the Stunner but DDP counters it into a backslide for a near fall. DDP goes for a whip, Austin reverses him into a corner and charges but DDP sidesteps it. DDP hits some shoulderblocks then sets Austin on the top rope and goes for a suplex but Austin blocks it. Austin fights DDP down to the mat then goes for a flying elbowdrop but that misses and both men are down. Both men get to their feet exchanging punches when DDP comes off the ropes but Austin catches him with a spinebuster. Austin agian goes for the Stunner but DDP shoves him away and hits a backdrop. DDP whips Austin and charges at him but Austin backdrops him over the ropes. Austin goes out after him but DDP greets him with a right hand and rams him into the announce table. DDP then exchanges words with Angle before shoving him down with a pie-face. DDP throws Austin back in the ring and starts to head in when Angle grabs his ankle. DDP kicks Angle away and heads in but Austin catches him with the Stunner!! Austin covers DDP and the referee counts 1..2..but Chris Benoit runs in and pulls Austin off DDP then slaps in him the Crossface and there's the bell!-------------------------------- Your Winner by disqualification: Steve Austin, but still WWF Champion: DDP (8:53)Benoit cinches in the hold and before long Austin starts slapping the mat. DDP gets in a few stomps when Kurt Angle charges in the ring and takes DDP down. Angle wails on DDP when Benoit grabs him in a waistlock but Angle switches behind him and hits a German suplex. Angle then goes back to attacking DDP while Austin is back up and dukes it out with Benoit. However The Big Show comes out to the ring and clotheslines Austin and Angle. Show grabs Austin and Angle by the throat and chokeslams both men simulatenously. Benoit climbs to the top rope and hits Austin with the diving headbutt while DDP picks Angle up and drops him with a Diamond Cutter. DDP, Benoit and Show all stand tall over Angle and Austin as the show fades to black.

****BREAKING NEWS!****
WCW Smackdown Taping In Doubt in Wake of Terrorist Attacks
September 11, 2001
As the United States continues to feel the reprecussions from what happened in New York, Washington DC and Pennsylvania today, every part of American life has been affected and the world of professional wrestling is no different. Today the WCW brand of the World Wrestling Federation was to tape the next edition of their Smackdown program from the Compaq Center in Houston for airing on Thursday night but in the wake of terrorist attacks the WCW officials and the Houston city officials had no choice but to put those plans on hold for the time being. There's no word yet on what will happen when Thursday night rolls around, but when we get the word we'll be sure to report it.

****NEWS UPDATE****
WWF, WCW to Go Ahead with Live Smackdown Broadcast
September 13, 2001
Two days ago we reported that the World Wrestling Federation had held up plans for WCW's Smackdown program at the Compaq Center in Houston following the attacks in New York, Washington DC and Philadelphia and wasn't sure how to proceed. We now can confirm that after much deliberation the WWF officials have decided to proceed with a live broadcast of WCW Smackdown from Houston tonight. The main reasoning behind hit move is President George W. Bush's plea for the citizens of the United States to try and move on with their daily routines, and the WWF figured that Smackdown on Thursday Night was a part of many Americans' routines.
However the WWF officials say this edition of Smackdown won't follow the normal format; instead it'll be a special tribute to the spirit of the Ameircan people and their resolve to move on and recover from the attacks. All the WCW and WWF wrestlers will not be required to participate if they did not wish to do so, but some have already agreed to work the show. Also all proceeds will go to the American Red Cross and other charities. The WWF hopes this will be their contribution to the healing process as the United States looks to move past the terrible tragedy of 9/11.

WWF RAW is WAR: Monday 10th September 2001...Okay, strange for a backstage segment to occur immediately after the introduction to the show in the arena - I have a pet peeve of this, as I think it ruins the flow of the show. It didn't sound like an eventful start to the show either, with D-Lo Brown and Test having a conversation, as well as Kane. I think this angle should have happened later on into the show. Rob Van Dam retaining the WWF Intercontinental Championship was a decent opening contest to RAW, Van Dam defeating D-Lo Brown successfully. Hmm, Test and Sabu getting involved afterwards was nice. I think this angle with D-Lo and Test as an alliance for the World Wrestling Federation is quite messy, though. Diamond Dallas Page's interview was nice, I liked the write-up for DDP's angle, talking up the upcoming WWF Championship match at Unforgiven. Rhyno talking about Eddie Guerrero was an interesting one. Rhyno defeating Al Snow meanwhile was what it was, establishing Rhyno as a threat to the WCW US Championship. Snow having a resurrection if you will, would be cool to see. Vince McMahon and William Regal being interrupted by Stone Cold Steve Austin was nice, a decent angle to explain tonight and who is here and whom isn't. Moving on, a decent WWF Light Heavyweight Championship defense for Tajiri against WCW's Rey Mysterio Jr. X-Pac as a babyface in 2001 just doesn't sit well with me, I think an alliance with him and Tajiri would be bad. Also, I think that X-Pac is above this. I hate that he's been tied into this randomly because he's a light heavyweight. There are a lot of random, unmatched tag teams in the WWF and WCW. William Regal and Kurt Angle's conversation could be ominous. We'll see what happens, I suppose. DTR, Don't Trust Regal. Chris Jericho's interview was fine, preparing for the WCW Championship encounter coming up at Unforgiven. I can't see Jericho winning it though, though it'd be good to see. The Rock will retain, me thinks. Now that I think about it, you should have saved Sting facing Rock for pay-per-view in a singles encounter. What would be amusing to see is a WCW-named pay-per-view, too. Maybe WCW Halloween Havoc will show its' head, or even Starrcade. The Big Show beating William Regal was obious, poor Regal. Show and a mystery opponent coming up at Unforgiven sounds interesting. Tazz talking bad about Regal was good. Tazz facing Kane is a nice comeback for Tazz to handle. Meanwhile, Edge and Christian defeating the Holly Cousins was fine, ahead of their encounter with the Impact Players for the WWF Tag Team Championships. You should really trim down the roster, so much fat on it, especially in the midcard and tag team division. Kane beating Tazz was what it was, a good revenge segment for Regal from earlier against Tazz. RVD feuding with Kane doesn't sound too appealing, as RVD will probably retain the title. D-Lo Brown won the WWF Hardcore Championship!? Eat that, Test. Sabu is above the title anyway, me thinks. I can imagine that Test could turn on D-Lo in the near future, perhaps. And finally, a big-time WWF Championship main event win for Stone Cold to keep him strong, but DDP managing to sliver away as WWF Champion by disqualification is fine. I could see Angle winning the WWF title at Unforgiven - but given its' in Angle's hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he could win it for a happy ending - or lose or get screwed, in an unhappy ending. Overall, a packed show. Everything is moving along nicely, but a lot of stuff, I'm not sure where it's going. It's an endless cycle of thrown together teams for the sake of WCW vs WWF, and who has what title. We need some formula, perhaps. And as said earlier, a cleanup of talent.

September 13, 2001 @ Houston, TX
Note that this episode will be written in a quick recap style instead of the usual in-depth format.
The show opened with none of the usual fanfare and intros but instead focused on Vince McMahon and Shane McMahon in the ring. Both men took turns expressing their feelings on the recent incidents in New York and Washington DC and what President George W. Bush said about how Americans need to try and move on with their normal routines. Vince said that they're going ahead with tonight's show to help fulfill that need but all the proceeds will be donated to the Red Cross and other charities. Shane emphasized that out of respect for the national tragedy, for one night it's not WCW vs. WWF, but rather a bunch of men willing to perform and entertain the fans. And Vince wrapped up by thanking the fans for the privelage of performing for them tonight.
We then went through the intro before going back to the arena as a number of WWF and WCW wrestlers gathered on the stage waving miniature American flags. Lillian Garcia then sang a beautiful rendition of the Star Spangled Banner. Following the commercial break we got the first of many pre-taped segments shown throughout the night of the wrestlers and staff sharing their thoughts on the past few days. These clips would be shown in-between the matches which are listed below:
1) WCW Tag Team Champions The Hardy Boys def. Shannon Moore & Shane Helms in a non-title match when Jeff Hardy pinned Moore with the Swanton Bomb following Matt's Twist of Fate.
2) Rob Van Dam & Sabu def. Mark Jindrak & Shawn Stasiak when RVD pinned Jindrak with the FiveStar Frogsplash.
3) Chris Jericho def. Lance Storm with the Lionsault.
4) WCW World Heavyweight Champion Booker T def. Hugh Morrus in a non-title match with the Axe Kick.
5) The Rock def. Chris Kanyon with the Rock Bottom.
6) Sting def. Fit Finlay with the Scorpion Deathlock.
7) WCW U.S. Heavyweight Champion Eddie Guerrero, Billy Kidman & Rey Mysterio def. WCW Cruiserweight Champion X-Pac, Tajiri and Rhyno when Kidman pinned Tajiri following the Shooting Star Press.
8) Kurt Angle fought Chris Benoit to a 15-minute time-limite draw. After the match both men shook hands before Angle led the crowd in a chant of "U-S-A" to close out the show.

Unforgiven card is looking stacked. Cool to have Angle vs Benoit close out your Smackdown in that fashion too.

WWF RAW is WAR Good start to the show with Rob Van Dam defending the Intercontinental Championship against D-Lo Brown. RVD retaining is for the best, it’s nice to see Brown with some spotlight however. The run-ins from Sabu, Test, and Kane were good, I feel like one of the WWF guys are going to take the title back soon. Liked the interview with DDP, excited for his title defense against Kurt Angle. I can see either man taking the title. X-Pac goating Tajiri into defending his title is interesting, I’ll see how that plays out tonight. Decent win for Rhyno over Al Snow with his match against Eddie Guerrero coming up soon. WWF Championship match tonight, awesome. Lot of title matches tonight, but I suppose it’s 2001 so I can let it slide. Tajiri retaining the Light Heavyweight Championship over Rey Mysterio is fine, I actually expected Mysterio to take it. Good interview from Chris Jericho, wouldn’t mind him taking the WCW Championship, I could see him stealing it. I assume if a WWF guy wins the WCW Championship then DDP will retain at Unforgiven. I feel like both feds should have a world title following Unforgiven to even it up a little. Big Show going over Regal was the right cool, interested to see who Regal has in store for the Big Show. Hmm, I liked the segment between Edge and Christian, I wonder if you’re going to go through with Christian turning on Edge and joining the alliance or vice versa. Solid win for Edge and Christian before their title defense at Unforgiven, though I feel like it’s the inevitable that the Impact Players will take the titles. Kane over Tazz was obvious, the post match attack from RVD was good too. The Hardcore Championship match was insane, was cool to see D-Lo take the title. I feel like RVD & Sabu vs. Test/Kane/D-Lo has been all over the show tonight, though. Finally, an awesome main event between DDP and Austin for the WWF Championship. The DQ finish was the best call, and the WCW guys standing tall was fine. I still feel like one of the WWF guys will have to win a world title at Unforgiven. Overall, this was quite a packed show. You have a lot going on right now, but I’m not sure if it’s a good thing or bad thing. I am enjoying it, however.
As for SmackDown there isn’t much to comment on, for obvious reasons. Personally, I don’t think I would have included the 9/11 attacks but I understand why you did. The show itself was pretty much full of matches with obvious winners, but the main event sounded great. The Unforgiven card is stacked, looking forward to it.

WCW SmackDown!: Thursday 13th September 2001...Why do I actually prefer the list results to your normal setup? I like it like this, it could be a cleaner, easier way of reading everything that happens during your naturally very packed out shows. Anyhow, classy move with the 9/11 tribute episode of SmackDown!, and I expect to see RAW is WAR named as 'RAW' now, just to be fitting. The Hardy Boyz getting a win against Shannon Moore and Shane Helms was expected, a crowd-pleasing win for the WCW Tag Team Champions in what should have been quite a fun opening contest. Rob Van Dam and Sabu with a victory against Mark Jindrak and Shawn Stasiak; although two tag team matches in a row may not have been too great. Should have spaced them out a little more. Chris Jericho and Lance Storm would have put on a good match...I just don't think it's fitting for this show. Two Canadians, on a pro-American show. Booker T defeating Hugh Morrus established the WCW Champion, not bad at all. Heheh, the Rock with a comedy value performance, then defeating Chris Kanyon is fine. I assume that Rock cut a comic relief promo, anyway. Sting with a win against Fit Finley is fine, not bad. Up next, more non-American action from Eddie Guerrero, Billy Kidman and Rey Mysterio, X-Pac, Tajiri and Rhyno. Rhyno looked so odd in this one, being the only heavyweight in there. I see that it was intended well, though. Good cruiserweight action from all five men and Rhyno. Finally, I'm tied on the fifteen minute draw finish to the main event...in 2001, on taped TV? I see that Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit both needed to look strong, but Angle should have won for that extra-patriotic touch. Overall, a fine edition of SmackDown! in the fallout of 9/11, just some iffy booking, perhaps influenced by the list result write-up.
