Got mine at midnight release last night, played a good 3 /12 hours and got about 6 or 7 missions in. Without giving anything away, the mission that starts the game is pretty great.
The game is amazing. New driving physics can take some getting used to, but once you do it's awesome.

My copy from Amazon didn't come today, sad times. Mine didnt either  Its quite annoying too as I took a day off for this, add to it everyone I know is playing it is very frustrating. I would email Amazon about it but it will probably be here tomorrow and moaning wont get it faster. |

Hopefully it comes tomorrow if it's sent 1st class, but I would be surprised. |

Still haven't received my copy yet but I don't doubt I'll get it at some point today. I just don't think it'll be anytime soon. I understand why you'd be bummed though, today is my day off also and I was looking forward to having the game early in the day to be able to just relax and play it all day. |

Man the graphics really are just so amazing. The opening mission is really good too, nice way to start the game off with a bang. Only done a couple missions, but I did unlock a face from GTA IV as a contact, in one of the random events.

Did your Amazon orders have release date delivery? If so, and you don't get it today, complaining will usually net you a small gift card.
Or, if you absolutely want it today, you could go pick up a copy and return the Amazon copy, it's pretty hassle free and late delivery is a genuine reason if release date delivery was part of the deal.

Alright, just got the point where you unlock Michael in the game. Love the mission that gets you him in the game too. Love how they have the interaction with the environment too. I was heading to a mission and went through and intersection, and hit the back end of a car, and suddenly I see a wheel on the road. I stop, look over, and realize, it was from the car I hit, the impact, snapping the wheel off of the car.

Dad called the like computer only store that is next to his work and they said they have 3 copies left. He's gonna pick one up first thing tomorrow. Can't wait.

First impressions: love that there are no loading times for missions and the act that you no longer have to wait for the next day to do time dependent missions as it will shift automatically to the next day.

Outside Asda (like Wal-Mart) today they had a real american police car with GTA themed livery on it. Looked pretty much like the cop cars in GTA IV. Didn't have my phone on me so I couldn't take a pic of it, unfortunately.
Done a couple of missions then went for a drive around just taking in the visuals before spotting the rollercoaster and going for a ride on that. Saw some buses and trucks which excites me more than it probably should because I liked to role play with those vehicles in previous games.

I pre-ordered from Amazon and it got dispatched first class post on Saturday, so it should definitely be here tomorrow. I got my next couple of days all planned out. I got College tomorrow, so I'll go to College in the day, and when I come home I'll finish off doing stuff in GTA IV. And then since I got Wednesdays off College, I'll spend all of Wednesday playing GTA V. Fantastic! Also about Rockstar warning players not to use the Play disc to install, really, you'd have to be a complete idiot to do that. The first disc is labelled INSTALL disc for a reason. It's got nothing to do people mistaking the play disc for the install one. You'd have to be a complete idiot to think that. Some people like to install games to their hard drive as it generally optimises performance. In this case, it doesn't. So they let people know before launch in order to avoid it happening. Well if there is one disc labelled "Install Disc", and another one labelled "Play Disc", it's pretty obvious that it is only the Install Disc that someone should install the game with. |

I've only done the Franklin mission to unlock him, and then just checked out part of the city, but still love the character. Really looking forward to getting Trevor. He's the one I instantly liked when they revealed the characters. Such a great nut job. |
