I was reading some older posts and I saw someone mention the idea of a DX Mike Tyson figure, and I started thinking, "Why doesn't Mattel branch out more with this scale?"
As of now, no one makes boxing figures for collectors. I know the sport isn't too popular now, but I'm sure a few waves of Tyson, Ali, Foreman, Mayweather, etc would sell. Why shouldn't Mattel branch out a bit with their WWE scale, which I think is wonderfully proportioned, and could really attract some cross-collectors who enjoy a myriad of lines.
It would be great to put a Superman next to Triple H and have them look like the same species. Mattel knocked Lesnar out of the park. Wouldn't it be cool to get some UFC figures in the Mattel scale?
I just wonder why no major company ever tried to mainstream one scale for cross-collectors. Just a thought to start another discussion. Opinions?

Other toy makers have the contract to some of these suggestions, although superman is part of the DC universe line made by Mattel.

Because WWE wouldn't take too kindly to Mattel making figures of their competition. Besides, Jakks already make UFC figures.

Agreed. One scale would be good, like cars have 1:18 scales and stuff even with different manufacturers.

I think it would be cool if they did a FB of a major celebrity that took part in a major wwe story line. That could be Mike T or Floyd

Anything that is a competition to WWE would be a no no to Mattel

companies want differences in their product that makes them unique. they WANT you to know the product you bought is theirs.

With Mattel's constant comments about how we are the only 6- inch scale figs out there, I'm led to believe they are not huge fans of the scale and probably would never do that. That being said, Jakks made some cool parts when they used the wwe scale for other figures such as the Scorpion King line.

Not a bad idea, but I don't see it happening any time soon, unfortunately. I doubt Mattel would make enough $ off figures from other venues. They haven't even matched the scale with the figure licenses they have. I'm just glad they got the scale right on the WWE figs. I hated when I was collecting Jakks & they were all the same. I had to make sure I had figures like Rey & Kane far apart so that it wasn't so obvious that the figure were almost the same height.

Flexforce Mike Tyson with intellectually- disabled crotch chop action! Its amazing how Tyson's brain doesn't let him to do the DX chop properly, you can see his lips moving like he's counting ... and then it goes all horribly wrong lol
