It's November 13th in the UK which means it's been 7 years since the untimely death of Eddie Guerrero. Absolutely crazy how time flies, I was 13 at the time & actually found out on the Monday after school through WF on the main page. I saw headings such as "Eddie funeral arrangements" & was like "Eddie who?". I assumed that an old retired legend had died & was shocked when I went to WWE.com & saw...

He could have been a huge star if he hadn't passed.

Eddie is the utmost example of a guy whose legacy is glorified simply due to the fact that he died; which is a shame that it happens so frequently in the wrestling industry. He was a great performer, great entertainer, no where NEAR as good as people make him out to be just because he died.
I wish he would've been around longer to build his own legacy (which he probably would have); not have one handed to him posthumously.

Regardless, he was extremely entertaining and it's such a shame he died. I remember not believing that he died because I was in middle school and I found out from my friend who would always tell me stupid lies about wrestlers. In fact a couple of weeks earlier he told me Angle had died.

Remember the day, I went on to this board I used to post at, and the first thing I saw was a banner at the top with a rest in piece message for Eddie. Was the first I heard anything of it, and when I saw it, all I could think of, was, wait, what? I know for me at least, part of what made it not seem real was because Eddie was involved in a main event storyline. Even with the number of guys that have passed, guys you see out there on TV, doing actual story lines, you don't expect to tune in and hear they passed.

Good lord... Anyways, I remember not being able to catch Raw the night before until it was the tail end. I couldn't believe it. I had to ask my friend in school the next day to make sure it wasn't a storyline. And like others have said, it's hard to believe it has been seven years.

Well maybe we don't give a what you think...Eddie Guerrero was loved and respected far before he ever passed on and if you're going to say he's not as talented as people say he is, then your opinion is absolutely asinine.

Agreed, most likely one of the most entertaining, talented wrestler of this era. A personal favorite of mine.

That is exactly what I'm going to say. I'm not looking to fight or tarnish his name; but my opinion still stands. It happens to almost EVERYBODY in the lime light who dies; the view of them is skewed by their death, and it's a shame because you never get to know what they REALLY could've done, or what they were really capable of.

He's not saying none loved him. What he's saying is that his popularity grew a lot bigger than it actually was because he passed and, honestly, I have to agree. He was definitely a great wrestler and I really liked him, but he was nowhere near as popular, let alone legend, when that happened.

I don't know what you guys are talking about, Eddie was over huge in WWE. People loved him way before his death and people wanted him back in the main event after his feud with Rey, one of the best in SD history. And he was well on his way just before his death.
