Okay, so, for four months my MacBook Pro has been comatose and I haven't been able to backup my photos or import any new music so I've worked around it and borrowed a friend's PC. I'm taunted by the software update waiting ever so patiently for me to download to my phone. I have no ability to get into the computer I established my home sharing with and I'm not sure of that's the same as iCloud but I can't access the home sharing wifi feature due to to the Mac being immobilized.
What I need to know is (yes you can update an iPhone 4S via wifi) will I lose photos or music not purchased in the process of updating software? Will I brick my phone? Because I've got a lot or irreplaceable pictures I've never backed up. I've freed up the space needed i just don't know what the consequences might be updating without a computer to store my stuff onto first.
