Just a quick question, I've always wondered... if this series is so mysterious that no one knows the lineup, how do we know they were going to be ORANGE cards? Is that just a guess, or something that has stuck around through all the rumors?

Unless there was some evidence produced that I've never heard of (which I doubt, because I was on the very AOL board where the first mention of these were made back in late '94-early '95), the fact that they were to be on orange cards and the ever-changing lineups have never proven to be anything other than speculation.

There was no actual proof to this series existance. There has been much speculation but due to the release of the green cards being so limited the odds of it were slim.

it is probably true that hasbro was going to be plannin a new series...the steroid scandal is why they pulled out of their deal with wwf....its all speculation though...

I thought everyone that was in that Bootleg set was orginally going to be in this set, like Luger, Diesel and Adam Bomb.

Adam Bomb was in the green card set before the rumored "orange card" set (which I've a;lso seen called the "black card" set) and I doubt they'd have re-released him in the next set. It seems that there were prototypes made of All American Lex Luger and a Bret Hart without sunglasses that were seen on an episode of RAW before Wrestlemania that year. The fact that the famous bootleg set also included an exact head sculpt of Kevin Nash as Diesel leads me to believe a prototype of his figure was done as well. Someone in the orient obviously snatched the mold to make the bootleg since I can't believe they'd go to the trouble to sculpt a Diesel likeness to go with the ripped off Hasbro molds in the set.
For what it's worth, the names I've heard and read over the years as being part of the set that never was:
Owen Hart
Jeff Jarrett
Mo
Mabel
Lex Luger
Bret Hart
Doink (face attire)
Diesel
Bastion Booger
Alundra Blayze(!?)
Bob "Spark Plug" Holly
Hakushi
Kama
"new" Shawn Michaels
Clearly, it's all just speculation and no one knows for sure what the plans going forward were.

I remember talking to Bastion Booger about 12 years ago and him telling me he had an action figure and I just realized now after reading the list, he may actually have a prototype or a production sample. If anyone sees him at a show, ask him about it.

basically the set i heard was Lawler, Yankem, Diesel, Mable, Bret, USA Lugar, and Mo

qustion for GoldenHulk,is there any pics of the hasbro bret with no glasses and lex luger on the net,that was on raw?,i cant remeber seeing them at all before wm x,maybe cos we got a different edit or whatever,but would love to see them,thanks
