Heard and read about those XD-Ms. They seem to be well liked among gun enthusiasts.

The M&Pc 45 is actually about the same size as a Glock 19, obviously just in .45ACP. Personally, I like .357SIG better than I like .40, the only downside is the cost of the ammo.

This thread just got real ugly. You'll shoot your eye out! I got close to that but that's why we wear eye protection. A .22 brass case ejected and must have bounced off the wall and went down the top of my eye protection and got stuck towards the bottom of them. I had a nasty burn on the top of my left check from that. Needless to say I got rid of those goggles and got new ones with much less gap on the top.

Heard and read about those XD-Ms. They seem to be well liked among gun enthusiasts. I finally got a chance to shoot one of those recently and yes I would agree it's a hell of a nice gun. The guy that owned it said he was trying to decide between a Beretta 92 and the XDm. The way he explained it to me was "I walked in the shop absolutely dead set on that Beretta, and I walked out with this." I liked it a lot but I don't know if I'd carry it. That's what my .380 is for.

That's what my .380 is for. My XDm is large (4.5" Barrel/19+1 mag) but it is light. I would not carry it though because it would be tough to hide. I have an XD-S which is my .45. It's very small but man it gets heavy with 5+1 of those .45 monsters). It is made for carry though.

The only thing I really didn't like about the XD line of pistols was the exposed firing pin on the back.. it always struck me as an odd thing to have.. though, if I were going to carry a striker-fired pistol, it'd be my Glock 19

I'm so glad i live in Canada. Talking about Guns isn't considered regular conversation.. that's just not anything anybody talks about. Non-issue for us.

I seem to remember Canada having some extremely stringent regulations that were trying to be loosened of late.

People tend to fear and or cast down what they don't understand. Gun enthusiasts are the ones you should be the least "terrified" of. These are the ones who know how to safely own, operate, clean, carry, and discharge a firearm. Not sure why someone with the most understanding of something "sssoooo bad" would terrify anyone.
But honestly though, I don't really care to be understood. I just wanna be left alone and have people keep their politics and opinions away from my hobby.

I am not afraid of those who own firearms legally. I'm even less afraid of those who carry them on their person with a permit. You don't get to this point in your gun owning career without having the Big 4 Rules of gun safety so hammered into your head you could recite them backwards. Of course there are chumbalones out there who try and make it hard on the rest of us by acting like morons with their guns...but all we can do is continue to be exemplars of good gun safety and responsible ownership.

Given that there were four accidental shootings at gun appreciation day I'm not sure how accurate that is.

Gun enthusiasts b. practicing proper safety (clearly not). c. knew what they were doing. A few thousand race car enthusiasts get together for an appreciation day at the track. Should people not drive anymore because a few crashes happen that day?

I don't think guns should be banned completely, but I do think certain guns should be banned and drug tests and background checks need to be implemented.

I hate guns and would never use them, but I think disarming the law abiding citizens based on the actions of criminals is one of the most moronic things that could ever be done.
