I dont get why people complain that their will be spoilers before they are aired. Do you watch wrestling only to know who wins, or do you watch for the action? I don't see the point of paying $15 to watch a show that happened 3 months earlier and has no relevancy to what's currently going on in the company.

Yet people still buy the dvds of wrestling events.... To be fair thats a collectible item and soemthing people will have to keep and look at whenver they want. Moreover, it was part of a storyline during a time frame ie BFG, X cup, etc. Unless it's a specialty dvd such as a Best of series. Still a straight to DVD, given the scenario, would make more logical sense imo.

I like everything but the idea of taped ppv. I don't really see why they couldn't keep them live, and maybe have them be cheaper than the big 4. Only way I'm.ordering the taped ppvs is if there like 14.99 with great cards

I think it's a great move that they are doing 4 live PPVs for the year, but the tapped ones have huge risks because spoilers will be posted before they air. But I love the idea of only 4 live PPVs, as monthly PPVs get ridiculous, especially when they air only 3 weeks apart. I think a big reason why WWE storylines suffer is because the short time to build feuds between PPVs. Obviously WWE doesn't have to cut it down to 4, but maybe cut their schedual down to about 8 PPVs a year to help build better storylines.

It's something different, so that's at least something positive to take away from it for mine; good luck to them.

So it's just wrestling?
They can't possibly follow a story if they're filmed that far in advance.
Either way, I haven't purchased (or viewed, I don't pirate) a TNA PPV since 2009. This won't change that. Doesn't feel like anything has changed, honestly. It's still a lot of money.
The only thing that I don't mind buying these days is UFC pay per views, and I watch a good amount of those at Buffalo Wild Wings anyway.

Well, the price point for the taped ppv is good at 14.99. But if they are released on DVD then why order? A DVD won't be much more in cost, its taped, and it has no bearing on storylines. There's really no reason to order them.

I like that they are going to focus on 4 big PPV events. More time to build and not so many forced feud matches. I would have liked to see them keep Destination X though. 6 PPVs probably would have been more ideal but maybe that's just me.
As far as the one-offs, I've read the spoilers for the first two. The X-Travaganza looks pretty awesome and worth $15 but the Joker Tag event looks like total sh*t. I do assume the prices listed are standard definition though. So it'll really be $25 and $50 and then $55 for BFG. We'll see how much I care when these actually air though. If what they did in the first two holds true, then they could get very predictable, and not even worth it imo.
I completely agree these should go straight to DVD, and they might make it there shortly after they air. They'll probably try to hit us both ways. If they are smart, they won't make them available on DVD until the year is over. This way people actually buy the PPVs because they don't want to wait.
I just don't think tapped pro wrestling can be overwhelmingly successful in 2013. It's going to impact your bottom line no matter what you offer in terms of actual content. Plus with this, and this has been mentioned several times, it'll be outdated.

If they had aired them live on ppv when they taped them, I would have ordered one. I just don't see any reasoning behind taping them.

I honestly would have spent $15/$25 just to see Petey Williams back in TNA had it been live. Now that the spoilers are out there it's like meh. If it airs in May will I really care by then? I'm guessing no...
