Is it really going for that much these days? I remember buying them for like $15-$20 at Big Lots a year or two ago. they were actually $30 They were actually on sale at one point too. I remember them being just over $20 or $21 after tax. I bought about 3-4 of them for all my buddies that have little boys that were starting to get into the WWE Mattel figures.

I'd like to see them include it with a themed set. I think an Elite ring + Hell in the Cell TLC Money in the Bank Royal Rumble (in order to fit a lot of figures at once)
I think they would sell really well, especially around Christmas. Fingers crossed.

I bought about 3-4 of them for all my buddies that have little boys that were starting to get into the WWE Mattel figures. Yes they had to sell them to discount stores like Big Lots because the major retailers didn't want to carry them at the regular price point. So they aren't going to do that again.

I doubt it since it apparently sold poorly. Luckily, I managed to get one from eBay last year for just over $60 before people jacked up the price.
If anything, Mattel released it way too early when people only had a few elite figures so I guess many just held off on buying it until their collection grew.

All this ring talk convinced me to go in the attic and dig out my old Attitude era Jakks ring (turned into a little suitcase to hold all your weapons) and boy glad I did... what a difference this thing makes. So much bigger and more durable. I forget how much these cost back in the day, but I had a couple of them, so they couldn't have been that much. There really is no excuse Mattel can't produce something similar of this. Sorry, but I don't buy all of this shelf space excuses out there. I've been into wrestling figures since LJN's and rings have always been on the bigger side, they've never been this generic and cheap until recently and its a shame, because for the most part Mattel does everything correct.

What is the point of making it? It doesn't matter if we want it, because the retailers have already said they don't want it. So again if retailers aren't going to order it why would Mattel make it? Mattel will just lose money making something that they can't get retailers to stock.

I would love an Elite scale ring since I missed out on them the first time around. I really don't mind my current ring(came with the Ringside Battle Playset) but I just hate the spring loaded mat!

Mhmmm, still no chance that Mattel will be making a new Elite Scale Ring? I've been looking on EBay for a couple of months now but the prizes on this item are... extravagant to say the least. On the US eBay it's roughly 400 - 500 USD, that's almost a tenfold of what it originally went for.
Like mentioned in this topic, perhaps the ring was released at a... bad time? I'm sure a lot of the collectors would consider buying a similar ring for 50-100 USD. They produce ringside exclusive figures so why not a collectors exclusive ring? I understand that the retail stores aren't too interested in selling the wrestling rings (though honestly if you're going to sell wrestling figures you should atleast have a couple of rings in stock, shouldn't you?) but this ring isn't even aimed at the retail crowd, is it?

I very much doubt it would even sell online. Look at the Legends line. $20 for a figure and still they sold so poorly they literally weren't allowed to continue doing it. Actually if you count shipping (which everybody does), its $30-$35 a figure. If they were $20 shipped you wouldnt be able to keep em in stock.

They could always reproduce the ESR and keep it on Matty Collector at a premium price ($99.99?), and narrow it to one per household to help detour scalpers (which isn't 100% foolproof, but it would at least be available...)

I have always been looking for elite scale rings but never ever found one. I do not wanna pay $500 for one. Do you think mattel will make a new elite scale ring? YOur thoughts. I just paid $180 for one on eBay

Mattel said for the longest time that they were going to produce a new ring, somewhere between the ESR and the crap spring rings. They were looking at a bunch of options... But then nothing ever came about.
Most people wanted a ring that was bigger and better than the spring rings, but felt the Elite ring was too big for it's own good (even if it was supposedly accurate) so the market has been there for a long time. But alas, Mattel sees more dollars in the spring rings.
I agree that making the Elite ring for Matty at $75 or so would be a nice decision.

Everyone is talking about price points being too high? The cell is like 80 bucks so obviously Matty isn't that shy about high priced playsets.
Also, just because these "dreamers" list their elite rings on eBay for $400+ does not mean that is what they actually sell for nor doesn't indicate what they're worth. Judging by completed listings and feedback here I'd say most could get one for around $150 or less which really isn't a horrible markup when compared to some of these crazy Fig prices.
