I've noticed there's not been a lot of variants in the Mattel line, other than maybe a packaging variant like Elite 13 Dolph Ziggler. However I know a lot of other lines frequently include variants in their lines, whether it be a alternate head scan or maybe an alternate costume or battle damaged.
I'm not putting this in the Mattel Suggestion section, cause I'm not really suggesting it, I'm actually more curious about all of your takes on it. If Mattel did decide to do more variants, is this something you guys would be interested in? Also what kind of variants would you guys like to see?
For me, it would really depend on who the variant was or how cool it looked.

Only ones I can think of are elite Morrison coat variant and basic Kane bright red mask.

-E4 John Morrison had two jacket colours. -E4 Chris Jericho had two attires. -E5 Jack Swagger had different packaging, one had him wearing the singlet, the other didn't. -E10 Ted DiBiase had two two attires. -E13 Cody Rhodes had different positioning for the paper bag. -L3 Vader alternated what mask he was wearing, I think only a limited amount had him wearing the red mask.
I like to see variants but as loose collector, packaging variants don't really interest me as much as two figures of the same person but different attires in the same series. Would the budget for said series increase if they choose to add an extra variant figure though?

I knew of Jericho, DiBiase, Rhodes, and Vader, but don't think I knew of Morrison and Swagger. I'm not sure if it would increase the budget, it probably would but not sure how much. I would think if they did a different mold on something it would increase it more than a different color attire. In some instances I would probably pick the variants up, as I got both versions of the Jakks CS series 12 Warrior and both CS series 15 HBK. Even if its not one I would buy, I think it would be cool just looking to see I could find both variants.

Vader wearing the red mask was the variant? Sweet! That's the one I got, but opened it cuz I'm a loose collector.

I remember mattel saying they dont really do them because it costs more to do it. Maybe not packing variants, but half runs like diesel/nash I would consider that a variant. Also like ted elite 10 where it was 2 different attires. For some reason they say it costs more to produce and they don't like doing them atleast for wwe line

Kevin Nash and Diesel E16. Didn't they do some factory errors as well. I have the Ricardo Rodriguez hair one were his quiff of hair at the front is not connected to the hair it self!

I see that there are 2 different kinds of variants
1) Attire Change or Running Change - E4 Jericho, E4 Morrison, E10 DiBiase, E15 Sin Cara, E5 Kozlov
2) Packaging Variants - Vader, E5 Swagger, McIntyre, E13 Cody and Ziggler.
Factory Errors are not Variants.

The only variants I care about are attire/gimmick. And I really don't want to see those as them the numbers for each are cut in half.

The only time we have seen any type of "variant" recently is when Mattel makes a last minute color change to the final product. Ex. Mustard/Gold Cara and B23 Kane w/ Bright Red mask. Otherwise I don't think they do them anymore.
I would really like it if they started doing this again though. I think its really cool and it makes it so that everyone will be on the look out for the rarer ones again! And I don't mean packaging variants. Those suck.

Although they are considered .5 per case figures unlike the other FB's I do consider Diesel/Nash variants, because they are the same guy that cut into each others production numbers.

I wish they'd done a Ziggler variant from E19, facing the other way. Luckily it's not to hard to do, but it'd be cool if they "officially" done it.

The one that mattered most to me was the Sin Cara mustard/gold ones. I really wanted the gold one.
