I was looking at Ringside's website and thinking. Would it be an efficient profit maker to order the cases and then open a store to sell the figures?
So, if you found an action figure store that carried all the Elites from 18 up at $25 apiece, and all the Basics from the Wrestlemania Series on for between $13 and $15 apiece, would you go and buy anything?
Thank you for reading! ;D

If it were that easy, I think everyone would be doing it.

I've been pondering the same thing. Or at least going to a local wrestling figure store and seeing if they need some help because I can find any Elite at retail. At least I have since I started collecting at E12. But if you were born in 98 then you won't be able to open a store for a while bud.

This is basically what my vendor at the flea market does. I thought about buying a case, esp a case where the fig I want is at a preorder price of $50. It seems like you would have to make something on the figs you don't want. And you wouldn't be paying the ridiculous individual price of the figs you want.

For example, if you wanted the Punk & Cena from E20, and you ordered the case for $160, you would be paying $20 a figure. Then, if you sold each of the others for $25, you would end up with the two figures, and you would only be paying $10.

You'll be selling all your Reys, Ortons, Cenas for $4 each. Then to recover your costs all the "first in line" and "hot" figures will be priced at $30+. Just like RSC, Replica Wrestling Belts, etc. A lot of online stores have jumped on the Mattel WWE bandwagon but nobody can sell singles at reasonable prices.

The Local Vendor around here has a Mattel License. He sells everything at the suggest retail price. $17 an Elite Figure, $10 a Basic figure and $20 for 2Packs. He does just fine with that pricing. He's about to open up his store front in a couple of weeks. I'm sure when a vendor orders wholesale from Mattel, it comes out to about $9 an elite figure and $5-6 a Basic figure.

Yeah but the op was talking about buying his cases from RSC. Which you'd have to sell at near scalper prices to make anything.

Yeah vendors have to get some sort of discount or else it would not even be worth it for them to buy and sell the figures in the first place.

You'd have to make a substantial profit to just pay rent for the store, which with all the peg warming that happens at regular heavily shopped retail stores at $17-18 a piece, i really dont think its worth the effort to see little, if any, profit. but to each their own.

If you have a mattel vendor account you get the figures at wholesale.

Generally in the past Orton, Cena, Rey, etc have been packed 2 per case, and it is difficult to get retail for those guys.
I don't think Ringside is offering the initial 1st shipment cases for preorder, so you will be getting your case when everyone else is getting them. Thus losing out on that initial price surge. There are also other online vendors who sell whole cases for less than RSC I think, about the same though. Either way about $20 for an Elite once you add shipping.
When I have ordered entire cases, it was difficult to unload the unwanted figures especially on Ebay/Paypal once fees are added in. You damn sure can't open up a brick/mortar store and pay above retail for the figures and expect to profit once you add in expenses to run a store.
Whole cases are good if you want most everyone out of the set, you pay around retail, and no hunting. The unwanted's you may get retail, may not, but you aren't going to be making much. Certainly can't pay above retail prices and expect a store to profit.

Yep, which is why I don't understand RSC's pricing sometimes. $50 for a figure that they basically bought for $9. Geez, that's about a 400% mark up.

Well they also probably have 20 boxes of Reys and Cenas to make up for

Yeah, they have to make up some sort of ground for all of the Reys/Cenas/Ortons that won't sell even for retail in the long run
