I am new here and just getting back into collecting.
I am having trouble getting my hands on an Elite Scale Ring, I saw a few of them at Christmas and didn't pick it up and I am now kicking myself. I got the item number from a lady there she ran it through the system and a few stores inventory said they had them but when I called they said they couldn't find them or some other excuse.
So here I was driving all around Southern California looking for this ring. But to no avail...
eBay here I come I guess
My question is how much did the Elite Scale Ring retail for when it originally launched?
Btw I am happy to be back in the game. Tomorrow I will post pix of all the figures I've found while scouring So Cal.

Welcome. Mind sharing what the item number is for the elite scale ring? I also hesitated and when I went to go back and buy the ring, they were long gone. There's a ton of Big Lots around here, so I'm hoping at least ONE of them has one left over somewhere. Gotta think positive.

It was $60 at retail. They probably have a crappy system like target, it still says my target has E12 Kanes

They probably have a crappy system like target, it still says my target has E12 Kanes That's because all of the Elites are tied to one stock number (mwhich makes it easier for them to inventory), and if there's one Elite in stock, be it E9 Zack Ryder, E12 Kane or E19 Daniel Bryan, it will say that all of them are on hand via the website/stock checker. It sucks for us though, because it makes things harder to find specific figures.

I'm sure you won't find one in a store now. Mattel stopped making them over a year ago. And sold their remaining stock to discount stores like Big Lots in late 2011. I can't see that many still being on the shelves of Big Lots after 2 holiday seasons. Especially when Big Lots were selling them between $20-$30.

I think that's the very ironic thing about the ESR. Mattel says it didn't sell well at stores at the 59.99 price point so it was cancelled.....but now, 2 years later we've got people paying waaaaaaaaaay more than that on eBay.
I bet there are a lot of people wishing they'd picked one up originally.....maybe then we might actually be getting ESR accessories now too, like a cage, Hell in a Cell, or even an Elimination Chamber.
It's a shame, because the ESR is the best wrestling ring ever.

So it will tell you any Elite is is in stock, probably from 10 series ago...the same goes for 2-packs, Basics, etc. They all come under the same SKU number so unless it's the first set of a series using those numbers is pointless.

It could have been taken either way, to be honest. I was just trying to help.

The reason Mattel said it didn't sell well wasn't because of low sales at retail...It was because most retailers passed on carrying it saying it was too much of a risk to move at the price point. So the poor sales were Mattel selling it to retailers...not retailers selling it to the consumers.
I think the only major retailers that really ordered any was TRU. I know my Targets & WalMarts never carried it. So Mattel had to sell it to discount stores like Big Lots. And I'm sure it was at a fraction of what they were going to charge major retailers like TRU/Target/WalMart.
