How strange is this? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prophecy_of_the_PopesIt was published in 1595 and says the current Pope is the last Pope before the next Pope destroys everything. The Pope that destroys everything is named Peter. Strange that the front runner for the next Pope is Peter Turkson. Are they talking about his regnal name, or is that not specified? No idea though I think they are talking about his real name not his Pope name.

Found this very strange. I remember in 2005, when JPII passed being overwhelmed with emotions, then Benedict came into position and really didnt receive the amount of praise and support as JPII had. Find it akward and the same time understand why he is resigning. Hope he can improve his health, and hope the church can move forward.

His health? I thought it might have been the guilt of trying to cover-up mass child rape and pedophilia.

Balotelli is clearly the next Pope. He's already moved back to Italy in preperation. Lamo. I don't really care that much myself to be honest. But an interesting question - Do Pope's get paid money for their job and around how much?

The catholic church is one of the richest organizations and largest land holders in the world, and has been since the middle ages. I suppose if you're pope, you're technically in charge of all of it, so you'd be pretty damn wealthy.

Jesus himself wore tattered clothing and even claimed that it is easier to fit a camel through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to get into heaven. But here we have the leader of the Catholic faith wearing such ornate and expensive gowns, probably eats the finest food and I honestly don't know how much money a pope earns (they could make nothing for all I know, they just get to have a lavish lifestyle provided to them from the Catholic church) either way I'm sure it's more than what Jesus himself would accept. More proof of the ridiculousness of religion and it's hypocritical followers.

I don't know if the Pope actually is though.

If everything is paid for, why does he need to make any money? Its like a Priest takes a vow of poverty yet i never seen one poor. They always have nice cars, eat good, and live in nice houses. You tell me.

You tell me. Well it was stated that he doesn't make any money, instead everything is provided for him by the church.

So who gets the honor of picking him up while dressed as Darth Vader and throwing him over the rail of an immense, spherical space station?
