I'm surprised that people are surprised it's the same game as last year's. We knew that'd be the case this year. Unless they have another development team working on a new game (rather than a yearly roster update with a couple of new moves) parallel to this, it'll be the same next year too.

A few attire wants from this game:
Ryback to be more accessible in Superstar Threads
SCSA with two braces
HBK with a classic attire
Big E to have debut attire (longer singlet and kneepads)
Jericho to have an attire that doesn't have 2013 written on it
Daniel Bryan to have an attire that doesn't have No! written on it
Mysterio to be more accessible in Superstar Threads
Cesaro to have his Red/Black/White US Champ attire (it's outdated though but it hasn't stopped them from ruining Jack Swagger 2 years in a row)

It's good to see something from the game and I'll buy it as always, but man, some of the decisions they make will forever baffle me. Shawn Michaels using that awful ponytail hair is at the top of the list right now, oh well. It'll be interesting to see the full roster.

Its really unfair to judge the game on what was just a teaser trailer. But I pretty much expected that for this year Yukes would be pretty much doing there own thing. for WWE15 though I think we will see much more of 2K's input in the game. i really enjoyed WWE 13 so one more game like that really is not the end of the world.
I am really excited though to see what the PS4 and Xbox One will be doing with WWE games. Speaking of which has WWE 2K14 been confirmed for the PS4 and Xbox One yet?

Yeah, I definitely get what you're saying. After the year they had, I really wasn't expecting anything too different than what we saw. I was even saying that it wasn't realistic to expect to see 2K's influence too much until the next year anyway. This is just the point where the realization of it being as similar to last year's sets in and people's initial expectations aren't met. I know those expectations are usually set a little too high by most, but it's understandable. As for the PS4/XBOX One versions, they have yet to be confirmed. Even if we do get them, I don't see them being anything more than simple ports. |

Well I'm happy to wake up to the first WWE2K14 trailer. Underwhelmed with what we saw, but that's only because I want more.  On a serious note, I'm happy it looks like WWE '13, I thought WWE '13 was fantastic. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. So happy that there is a double Shellshocked, I really was not expecting that. Nor Shawn Michaels throwing his opponent into the air to do a Superkick. Cannot wait for this game and the next bit of gameplay to be shown. |

So is there not a theme to the roster then? That's a shame if there isn't. I'll probably keep an eye on this but I'm happy with WWE 13, if they don't top it (which I have my doubts) then this game will be an easy pass.
I guess we can assume that Cole/Lawler are back. They wouldn't have pics on the cover contest if they didn't.

Just keep the roster the same (apart from people like Kharma, Eve and Beth Pheonix who are no longer with the company) and add more guys to it that we didn't get. Like Hardcore, Crash, Blackman, Neidhart and of course Bart Gunn  (as well as others). Then they should have just put guys like Axel, The Shield, Fandango etc. |

Alright, I went through the video a few times, and this is all the new things
The Rock's entrance, his attire, and he might be bigger.
Modern HBK in WM 26 attire. I think the ponytail will just be in the entrance. A toss up Super Kick.
Macho Man Randy Savage
Ryback in his purple attire, and the Double Shellshocked.
Cena in the yellow shirt.
Ziggler has a new attire, and a new Zig Zag.
Things that are same:
Everything about Stone Cold. Which doesn't bother me, since the only time I used him was WWE 13. Never used him in 12, 11, 08, etc.
Anyways, I will take a guess as to what some of this may mean.
Double Shellshocked: Perhaps a new OMG Moment that is given as an ability,
to do a double finisher, such as, Cena's double AA, Kane, Taker, and Big Show chokeslamming two people at once, or HBK going crazy and Superkicking everybody, or Randy Orton going crazy and RKO'ing everybody.
The toss up Sweet Chin Music, this one may just be a normal finisher, or be similar to catch finishers except you toss them in the air yourself.

Hopefully the reason for them being so lazy with this game is because they don't want to re-create the wheel for the last round of the old game consoles. I could understand them just slapping the same Yukes crap on a plate, updating some attires and creating a hand full of new wrestlers because they want release the new game engine on the new game consoles for WWE 2k15.
I mean...from that very very short teaser trailer, this THE same game. The same entrance animations, the same superstar molds. The HBK is the same face as WWE 12 with a new attire, the Ryback is the same incorrect thin body as the DLC ryback with a new attire....clearly Yukes and Cory Ledesma are the reasons why the WWE THQ franchise was a yearly rehash.
I'll wait and get WWE 2k14 when it's at a reduced price, but if WWE 2k15 is the same crap, then I'm done with these game for good.

i will wait and buy it , and im not caving on DLC this year. WWE 13 was good, until i played the CPU. 2 count glitch is horrendous and if that isnt out , ill be playing WWE 12 again this year. By far the best game on this gen console so far.

The double-shell shock makes it sound like that triple threat OMG moment might be legit, which is awesome.

I can totally understand your point but I think saying they're lazy is a bit harsh. They took over for THQ earlier this year so they have a pretty small timeframe to recreate this franchise. I do agree that once 2K has been in control for awhile we may see more drastic changes on the next-next-gen consoles with 2K15 and beyond. But to think that 2K is going to completely reinvent this game and start from scratch with a 9 month window till release is a bit unrealistic. |
