These two are just absolute garbage at commentating. Lawler has gotten so lazy over the years with his commentating its embarrassing. Cole hasn't improved since day one. Im sick to death with both of them they are just so boring. Bradshaw and Matthews are much better and bounce of each other great, Matthews is the perfect whipping boy for Bradshaw. But with Cole and Lawler theres just nothing, its so bland. One minute they hate each other next minute there are on first name terms (nothing worse than Cole calling King "Jerry") Who is listening to these two morons back stage because im puzzled why they havent been replaced. THEY HAVE TO GO!!!

I can tolerate King, but can't stand Cole. He makes it sound so lame.

I agree with you Cole and Lawler are both terrible commentators but in WWE there no one who's really any better Striker annoys the hell out of me as he is so over entusiastic, stanford is decent enough and Byron Saxton doesn't have enough experience as of yet. The only commentator I really enjoy at the moment is Regal.
I also feel that there is some genuine heat between JBL and Matthews (didn't Matthews punch JBL at one point) and it kind of makes me feel uncomfortable listening to them.
This is one area I believe TNA does better than WWE as Taz and Tenay make a great team and the new guy is a great addition (I dont know his name).

I agree too. It seems that WWE have forgotten how crucial a good commentary team can be to the overall quality of the product.

Some people got a bit more tolerant with Lawler because of the heart attack....one week after he returned I was back to hating his commentary

Never really could stand Cole but what put me over the edge was him screaming "THE SHIELD! IT'S THE SHIELD! THE SHIELD!!!!!!" at RR. Also I noticed especially with Punk that when JBL is not there King and Cole pretty much crapon Punk the entire time he is doing something. It just doesn't work with two over the top face announcers.

wwe needs to fresh faces on commentary I agree. Maybe the need to look at hiring people from outside like Coachman.

I don't get the hate for Cole to be honest. He knows what is going on in the product and in the ring (most of the time.) King on the other hand....

King was great back in the day as a heel announcer. But as a face he is just terrible. Cole is terrible regardless. That guy gets paid to suck at his job. JBL is the saving grace in my opinion. I could go for a JBL/Striker team myself. Or as I have been saying for years, JBL and Foley.

I was fine with Cole before he developed his "heel personality" a few years ago. Ever since he has been insufferable. Lawler was barely tolerable a decade ago. I much preferred Heyman, Tazz, or just about anyone. I would LOVE to see some fresh blood.

Some weeks I pay zero attention to the commentary....it's just backround noise. Some weeks I literally cannot stand to hear another word from Cole's mouth, his overselling, over promoting is simply nauseating.
Not to mention those guys barely call the matches anymore. It's only about twitter, the WWE app and calling someone a "former world champion" 97 times because apparently the only people that watch RAW are newbies. On top of that....since when did "OH what a move by _____!!!!" become acceptable? I seem to remember moves & holds having NAMES besides "oh what a"

I absolutely love Cole, think he's great. Ideally for me it would be him and JBL on commentary. Got a lot of chemistry and they don't take themselves too seriously. Lawler ing sucks. He's clearly fallen out of love with the product and that's absolutely fine, but I hate him polluting my ears every week. He's so incoherent and boring, it's like every week he's phoning it in.

Wow you guys take stuff super serious. Lol
Neither of them bother me. Cole isn't the best and Lawler has definitely been better but I'll live.

King is ing annoying and dumb. Cole is usually pretty funny. I prefer JR, obviously, and JBL or Matt Striker, I think they're both hilarious.

Michael Cole is a great commentator, and Lawler is the King, he can be as bad as he wants he's still better than most.

Am i the only one who's love to see this combination on RAW or SD? Have Regal lean more towards play-by-play and have JBL lean more towards colour commentary (granted i'd much rather see Regal wrestling)

I said it when it happened, when Jerry had the near death experience, commentary quality went up with out him. By no means was I happy that he had that happen. But it just proves that over the years he has lost it. Time for J.R and JBL to take over, a good play by play that knows the business and JBL who's the best heel commentator available.

But it just proves that over the years he has lost it. Time for J.R and JBL to take over, a good play by play that knows the business and JBL who's the best heel commentator available. Absolutely. I absolutely dreaded King's return. Not that I didn't wish him the absolute best in his recovery, I was genuinely happy for him, but the fact is, he's even admitted he doesn't like his job anymore. The heart attack should have been his wake up call to ride off into the sunset. Cole can be tolerable at times, but with King, he's terrible. He's got a good dynamic with JBL, which tends to make him a bit better. Lawler, on the other hand, is absolutely abysmal no matter who he's with, even JR. People can say that we overreact to commentary all they want, but commentary is one of the most crucial and important pieces of the puzzle to properly tell a story. More often than not, I feel like Cole and King are genuinely distracting and doing an honest disservice to the product and their coworkers. I can't even count the number of times in the past year they've devalued a moment, situation, or even a wrestler just for the sake of lame attempts at jokes or ridiculous cynicism.
