Been meaning to post this, and the auction reminded me. I figured I'd wait until the auction ended. BTW, did anyone on here win the auction? www.EBAY LINK NOT ALLOWED/itm/290863441025?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 I can't believe how much that sold for! This seller had a few posters go for insane prices!!!

gotta calm down on these...
its the same buyer that is spending insane amounts on the LJN posters right now..
$380 for a crappy condition warrior + cardback + poster...
now $180+ for macho man 89 poster (yes this is extremely rare and i have never seen it)
just seems like a buyer that is screwing with the sellers..

Yeah, I'd agree. The first day it was posted, the Macho Man poster was already at $100. It's not so much that one, but some of the other ones he sold/is selling. Some are currently live auctions, so I won't mention them, but they are at ridiculous prices with bids! BTW, I am not the seller of the Macho Man poster or any of the other ones. The pic I posted is mine and is a completely different Macho Man poster.

Don't get it myself, poor condition and effectively only a poster

There was only one bid from one person who didn't win it and he's got more than 2100 feedback. You guys are too quick to chalk up frantic bidding to shady behavior.

Wow....Is all I can say. This is my first time seeing that extremely rare poster. The ones I'd love to see next are DiBiase '89, Brutus '89, and Bam Bam '89. I wonder if someone out there has them.......

I wonder if someone out there has them....... I've known about the Macho Man poster since around 2000ish, but I didn't have any pics of it. I finally got my hands on it, then another immediately pops up on eBay! I've followed black cards very closely since I realized that some re-released guys had their own posters/bio cards. Most black cards have a big gap between the card and the plastic bubble at the bottom, and you can actually take a screwdriver or something thin and turn the poster to see who it is without hurting the seal. From what I gather from doing this, it seems like every time there is a Hogan bio card, there is also a Hogan poster inside. I have Studd and Brutus, and have seen about 20 more of each. Every one has had Hogan bio cards. I've only seen 4 DiBiase's, but again, all have had Hogan cards. I've only ever seen a pic of Bam Bam in a magazine, so I can't say with him. One other guy is Hacksaw Jim Duggan. I have him on black card, and have seen probably more than 100 others, and I've never seen him with his own bio card. It seems like some black card guys ALWAYS have their own bio cards/posters, some are like 50/50 theirs or Hogans, and some of them NEVER seem to have their own card/poster. Like you said, I'd love to see DiBiase or Brutus, but I'm really starting to wonder if LJN just didn't make posters/bio cards for some of the re-releases for some reason? Obviously, I can't say for sure. I wouldn't mind being wrong though!!!

^ interesting stuff.. i still think it is one person screwing around to make everything go insanely high...
anyways, ive heard that all of the 89 re-release are of the pictures that are on the back of black carded ones....but im starting to wonder whether some were released with hogan bio card on back and their own..
if anyone has 89 cardbacks or MOCs that have their own bio cards, id like to see it..

I have mach man 89' bio card and ax 89' bio card and poster. I was going to bid on this auction too but that price is way too much. I really hope the guy doesn't pay for it so it gets listed again.

Here's Honky Tonk Man and Jake black bio cards, and maybe Brinsko3 can post pics of his Ax and Macho Man. Those 4 along with, Haku, Big Bossman, Warlord, and Rick Rude ALWAYS seem to have their own bio cards, and never Hogan's card. Ultimate Warrior and Andre seem to be like 50/50, sometimes theirs and sometimes Hogans. Brutus, Studd, Hacksaw, and DiBiase (although I've only seen 4) ALWAYS seem to have Hogan's bio card. Hogan always seems to have his own obviously, but depending which card version it is, it may or may not say '89. It would be really funny to find a Hogan with some one else's bio card! Adrian Adonis always seems to be on the black Hogan Collectors edition card. It's a black card, but it doesn't say '89 on it. I've never seen the back of a black Bam Bam card These are just observations from my experience. I could be totally wrong about everything!

Here are my 2. I can't believe theres 2 macho mans out there. But I don't think I can stomach spending that kind of money. Maybe its time to move on to something else.

Everyone always mentions Smash or Bad News Brown or The Barbarian or Brother Love when talking about these '89 figures and yet when you look at the card backing I think there's another ultra rare figure that was apparently included in this set and without question deserves mentioning and that is Miss Elizabeth.
I have always wondered if a black carded '89 Miss Elizabeth figure exists in someone's collection. If so, I believe that to be the "holy grail" of the LJN series. I just want to see a MOC picture, just to finally put the question to rest after all these years.

^ yup.. every other figure that is on the back of the 89 figures has shown up at least once, except for elizabeth.. it would make sense that a black 89 elizabeth does exist, as everything else on that cardback has been released as an 89 and we have seen it..
thanks for the uploads guys.. that stuff looks cool... would have love to seen the 89 jake poster, where he is just a yellow background..

A while ago someone posted here the rare Jake Roberts LJN '89 poster. Did anyone save that pic? I'd like to see it again.

Mr. Old School, it would really suck if they made both Elizabeth skirt versions on black cards. Talk about impossible to find BTW, did anybody catch the black Tito poster from this same seller that ended last night for 152.50? The "winning bidder" has a lot of feedback, and Tito is rare, but not that rare!

Jake was such a unique character that even his poster had to be different than everyone else: all of the other '89 posters I've seen have full body action shots with dark background and Jake has a closeup posed photo with a yellow background.
