I don't get it. He obviously isn't homeless or anything but why does he do this? You would think he would try and work some indy events or something.

Does he just blow through money or something? I mean, we never hear about him with drug problems. We dont hear about him with ex wife problem. He's seemingly completely out of the spotlight. Where does his money (that he earned in wrestling over the years) go? You're assuming he got paid like Hulk Hogan during that time. As of 2006, the lowest paid male performer in WWE was paid about 118,000 per year (http://www.URL BLOCKED.com/information/wwe-salaries/ see Lance Cade). That 118,000 is from 2006. There is no way Virgil was making even half of that per year back when he was active in the 1980s through 2000. But, let's pretend he made what 118,000 would be equivalent to today: $78,275.55 (http://www.dollartimes.com/calculators/inflation.htm) Now, factor in health costs and costs of living and taxes, and I'm sure that number dips south of $40k per year. Keep in mind he only worked in the higher paying companies from 1987-2000 and not really as an active wrestler but as a manager of sorts, so chances are he made even less. So he probably didn't blow his money on hookers and cocaine, but not having a full time job nor having benefits can do a number on you. I didnt assume that at all. I know Virgil didnt make Hogan money, thats kinda...obvious. However, he was still employed from '85-2000 and made at least "decent" money. You've got guys like Jake Roberts who've made 3 times as much as Virgil has, and pissed it all away on coke, booze and hookers and still have more money then him.

I missed the punchline where this is actually funny. Must be a Dane Cook fan.

I saw him last year at Chiller Theater. Instead of putting him in a group that included Greg Valentine & Brutus Beefcake, they put him at a table with Carroll Spinney (Big Bird from Sesame Street). This comment had me in hysterics!

Try going 12-13 yrs without having a steady job and see where all your money goes

I thought he was a teacher. Why do we feel sorry for a guy with a full time job that contributes to society? The only thing sad about it is him grasping at fame for as long as possible. At some point you need to move on. I thought he was in a much better spot than most guys after his day in the spotlight ended.

I actually feel bad. Isn't he a teacher? Wait, NO ONE wanted to meet Virgil? I'd like to meet him tbh.

Hell, even if he isn't a teacher, the man obviously has the ambition and wherewithal to set up random meet and greet booths. He can use that to obtain a job or something that would keep him from having to embarrass himself like this.

Nothing funny about it.
I saw him at a toy/comic show about a year back. He wasn't sitting with the other celebrities. So he must have paid for his own booth as opposed to being paid to be there. He seemed to get a decent amount of visitors. And even two of my friends paid for him to sign pics of him with Andre & Dibiase.
I feel bad for him and wish things were working out better. Hopefully some day.

Tbh, if he isn't a teacher, would WWE help him and make him a backstage roadie, or manage someone?

Wow, he's become a beggar in Grand Central. That's got to be an all time low for any superstar.
