BORN TO BATTLE: Still seeking participants!
- Born to Battle is almost ready to begin, with 28 announced participants including familiar faces such as Ace Bennett, Mike Bockwinkel and Justin Tyger as well as a fair amount of young upstarts looking to cause an upset in the tournament, including a female wrestler who's out to prove that gender is not a factor.
- The Born to Battle organisers have decided to remove stipulations from the tournament, due to increased costs in objects and the idea that if stipulations were to be used later on in the tournament, it would be more beneficial to ticket sales.
- Sign ups are still ongoing for Born to Battle, so if you are a successful or upcoming wrestler, feel free to sign up.

Two of my guys face each other......GENIUS Not all of your guys are going to win.....especially considering there are only sixteen spots in the second round. At least one is guaranteed to move on that way. And the bracket looks great Jack, hopefully Ace can have a nice run, maybe to the semis or even the finals. I don't see Silas or Donnie winning their first round matches, looking at their opponents. Glad that I gave you the guys you needed to start this up, even if they are cannon fodder. Would be cool if this got started off as a regular fed after the tournament.

[Show 1 of 10] [First Round Match ups] [2nd March, 2013]
The official Born to Battle ring announcer, Davis Salton welcomes us to the very first Born to Battle Tournament. Davis reveals that tonight there are four first round matches scheduled, including our main event between Ace Bennett, who seems very popular in the building and the monstrous Powerhouse by the name of Bret Thomas. Salton goes right ahead to introduce the very first contest of the tournament between ‘wrestling politician’ Michael Callahan and Puroresu competitor ‘Soulfire’ Justin Tyger.
Justin Tyger def. Michael Callahan to move on to Round 2 Even before the match has begun, Michael Callahan had started lecturing the BtB crowd, about how his opponent Justin Tyger, was disloyal to the Great country of America, by spending years on the Japanese scene. Tyger managed to interrupt Callahan before he bored the crowd half to death, stating that Michael was being disloyal himself, by wasting everyone’s time, and spewing out bullcrap. Tyger then kicked Callahan in the face, much to the delight of those in attendance and the match began. The match was fairly even throughout and fantastic taste of things to come in the tournament. Tyger however, managed to come out on top in the end, squeezing free of the Victory Lock, to deliver a Tyger Driver, setting him up for the Northern Lights Bomb and the three count.
Hunter Kellen def. Alyssa Wong to move on to Round 2 Much like the last bout, Kellen had something to say before his match, wondering why on earth he was facing a woman, stating that he’d much rather take on his own gender, knowing that he won’t run off crying when they break a nail. These comments seemed to get to Wong, as she took the fight to Hunter as soon as the bell rung. Wong’s series of kicks and aerial offence caught Kellen off guard at first, Wong almost defeating Kellen on several occasions with two counts. Those live in attendance were able to get right behind the sexy casino dealer, who confused Kellen by producing a card trick, before throwing them in his face and delivering a sharp missile dropkick. Wong’s upper hand didn’t last too long however, as no nonsense Kellen, drilled her with a Codebreaker, to the dismay of the fans before obliterating Alyssa with a disturbing ‘Bless the Fall’ brainbuster, to finish the match.
Kellen was heavily jeered on his way out, to which all Kellen would do was smile, seemingly pleased with his beat down on the only woman in the Born to Battle tournament as he headed to the back.
Cain Jackal def. Cameron Stone to move on to Round 2 Many believed Stone was an easy win for Jackal, considering his age, but this was no reason to stop Stone from incorporating dirty tactics, gauging Jackal’s eyes and using the ring post to his advantage on various occasions. Despite this, Jackal shined as a dominant figure, not to be messed with in this tournament. Jackal’s brutal go home sequence involved simple, yet effective moves as a Spinebuster and Guillotine Leg Drop to Stone was then followed up with a tough spear to the gut of Stone, enough to advance to the next round.
Before the main event began, Davis Salton encouraged all of those in the live crowd to join him next week when another four matches are contested in the first round of the tournament, including: Brydan Stylix vs. Jack Joseph Colt Roode vs. Shane McCorven El Leon Noche vs. Red Dragon Elliot Reid vs. Randel Benjamin
Ace Bennett def. Bret Thomas to move on to Round 2 This main event match focused on two different styles, between two big tournament winning contenders. However, one had to fall at the first hurdle. The crowd went wild for Ace Bennett, a real fan favorite despite his slightly cocky demeanor, though it may be confused for confidence. Thomas threw Bennett around the ring like a ragdoll, which isn’t usually what you’d expect to see an opponent doing to Ace, though few were turned into unbelievable counters such as a fall away slam into a sensational armdrag. Bennett managed to dive off the top rope onto Thomas, completing a hurricanrana, but Bret wasn’t down for long and forced Bennett into an Ankle Lock. Many believed that Ace was going to tap out, though a final lunge for the ropes broke the hold and prevented this. Bret grasped Bennett’s foot and attempted again but Ace was able to roll through and connect with a stunning dropsault. Bennett tried desperately to set up Thomas for a Syracuse Drop but could not, and by this time Bret was mounting a comeback. It all looked over when Bennett was lifted for a Gory Rack Piledriver, but a clever maneuver set Ace up perfectly for the Syracuse Lock and after around a minute of intense wait, Thomas passed out and Ace picked up the victory.
This would conclude the first night of the Born to Battle tournament, which Justin Tyger, Hunter Kellen, Cain Jackal and Ace Bennett all advancing to the following round, strong candidates to take home the tournament all round.

How does this thing work, anyway? I mean how do you decide the winner of each match?

Great show, two really known names got their wins, when Tyger and Ace getting wins, Jackal vs Stone could've gone either way, so for me that was the best match for me, the next show should be interesting, I see Joseph & Dragon clear second round makers.

I really like the format of this, and you really spread out four matches to make it into a proper show. Props for that. Ace moving on in the first round was great, Thomas was definitely a tough contender who had me worried. Match write up was great. Kellen over Wong makes me happy knowing that ISW guys are starting to get over in other feds. Had a feeling you might put Wong over to have an underdog, but glad you didn't. Jackal over Stone was expected, but I wish both men could've moved on personally. Tyger over Callahan was also expected as Tyger will probably be a top contender in this, would not be surprised at all to see him as a final four guy.
Great work mate.

I'm definitely liking this so far. It's pretty tense with it being a tournament set up. Looking forward to seeing where Reid goes on the next show. I hope you keep this up.

[Show 2 of 10] [First Round Match ups] [9th March, 2013]
Once again Davis Salton, Born to Battle’s official ring announcer, welcomes the live crowd to the show. This would be the second Born to Battle show, featuring four more first round matches. Davis begins to announce the matches before he is interrupted by Brydan Stylix, who is scheduled for a match against Jack Joseph later on in the night. Brydan was wondering why an average looking, common man like Davis Salton was chosen to address the crowd every night during this tournament, and does not give a strong representation of the show. Stylix let everyone know that he feels someone handsome, like himself should be the one fulfilling such a role, however he isn’t willing to stoop to such a low level, as ring announcing. Davis is quiet and intimidated but Jack Joseph soon appears to stick up for Salton, telling Brydan to pick on someone his own size, and that he shouldn't be picking fights when he’s going to struggle enough tonight when he faces Joseph, without having a match beforehand. Stylix attempts to punch Jack but his hand is caught and Joseph delivers a dropkick to his face, Joseph goes to the top rope but Brydan makes his out of the ring and vanishes to the back.
Red Dragon def. El Leon Noche to advance to Round 2 Masked action kicks the show off in terms of in-ring action. Red Dragon, the more experienced of the two was looking to teach El Leon Noche ‘The Night Lion’, a lesson in the art of fighting and in the process proceed to Round two. The crowd loved this one, as both men were quick, agile and performed a series of complex and innovative moves throughout. Leon attempted to catch Dragon offguard with high flying techniques, but it wasn’t anything he hadn’t dealt with before. Following a missed Senton, Dragon swiftly finished off El Leon Noche with the Red Dragon Driver.
Elliot Reid def. Randel Benjamin to advance to Round 2 Benjamin stormed to the ring with a chair in hand prior to this one, threatening Reid with it, but it was promptly taken by the referee, much to the dismay of Randel Benjamin continuously attempted to retrieve and use weapons throughout. Reid dazzled Benjamin with a superb moveset competing against Randel’s purely brawling mindset. The referee fell to the outside during the match, allowing Benjamin to bring his chair into play. However, it was not used to the advantage of Benjamin as Reid superkicked the chair into his face, as the chair was kicked from the ring the referee re-entered and Elliot ascended to the top rope to connect with Ell-evation for the victory.
Shane McCorven def. Colt Roode to advance to Round 2 This match was not as close as previous matches in the tournament as McCorven controlled almost the entire match with Roode only making minimal offence. Roode made a brief comeback, downing Shane with a neckbreaker before setting up for the Colt 45 but Shane evaded the attack and a series of three moves, the McCorven Cut, Remedy of Despair and finally a sharp brainbuster by the name of The Crippling to defeat his opponent and move onto the next round.
Prior to the next match, Davis Salton announced to the live crowd that the next round of matches would take place next Saturday and would include: Connor O’Reily vs. Donnie East Silas McGahee vs. Zeke Walker Franky Emerald vs. Mike Bockwinkel Bork Laser vs. Chris Hammers
Jack Joseph def. Brydan Stylix to advance to Round 2 The crowd were pumped for tonight’s main event after a heated opening segment between these two men. Much like last week, the crowd were behind Joseph as they were for Ace and hated Stylix, much like they resented Bret Thomas. Stylix consistently stroked through his long hair, ensuring he remained ‘handsome’ through the match. Joseph was in no nonsense mode however and played his cards wisely throughout in a very strategical way. Stylix managed to bust our his finisher, Facial Reconstruction towards the end of the match, much to the shock of those in attendance it seemed as if Brydan was going to cause an upset against Joseph. Joseph did manage to place a foot on the bottom rope, however, and break up the pinfall. The finish of this match saw Stylix working over Joseph’s right leg, attempting to eliminate the Flying Saint from his arsenal, however Joseph countered, downing Brydan with an enziguri and ascended to the top rope. Stylix avoided the Flying Saint attempt but Jack simply landed the backflip on his feet and connected with a hurricanrana. Stylix made it back to his feet quickly but only to be met with the top rope Pele Kick known as the Flying Saint, to give Joseph the three count.
The results of this show reveal that Jack Joseph, Shane McCorven, Elliot Reid and Red Dragon all move on to Round 2 with Hunter Kellen, Ace Bennett, Cain Jackal and Justin Tyger. However not one of these eight men will face eachother in the next round.

So happy McCorven won. I would live a great performance from him. That's what it will take to be in the ranks of Hammers, Bennet, and Bock

Four pretty obvious first round matches here. I know it was difficult to pair sometimes. I do see one of the "lesser known" guys to have a decent run in this instead of it being all of the "main attractions." Reid, Dragon, Joseph, and McCorven are all nice additions to the second round. Will be interesting to see how they do. Next show will be fun to read since my other two characters are taking part. Hopefully they have good matches.
