RANT TIME! For the record I know this will never happen and it's not a figure request so it doesn't belong in the suggestions board. Here goes. Why is Mattel & WWE ignoring Chris Benoit? That's a rhetorical question. I know why. I just think it's stupid. Yes the man did an unspeakable thing. That should not negate the 2 decades before that. He was a major contributor to WWE, WCW & ECW, and many promotions in Japan as well. It's time for WWE to stop treating people like idiots who will forget him if they ignore him. Beyond just not making figures of him, they have refused to induct him into the HOF. They have even gone so far as to scrub his matches from the DVDs of the events he wrestled in. Which hurts other stars as well since he had several classic matches w/ present stars that have been basically erased. Chris Jericho, Kurt Angle, Shawn Michaels, Triple H and several others were all part of some of his great matches that were edited out of DVD releases because Benoit was too big a part to simply edit him out. C'mon Vince. Don't ignore 20+ years because of 72 hrs. RANT OVER.

Those actions are unforgivable and forever outweigh every single thing he did in his professional career. This 100%. He was one of my favorite wrestlers until the day he killed his family and now I have no interest in celebrating his professional accolades in any form in light of what he did. |

I like Benoit. Id love to have a figure of him to add to the collection but ranting/complaining and begging just simply isnt going to change anything. Its not happening.

Never liked the guy even before he did what he did lol. When they put the strap on him at Mania 20 I thought that was probably the worst world champion they had made to date.

What if Michael Jordan fell asleep @ the wheel and accidentally killed 2 people in his car. BY that same logic, all mention of him in the NBA should be forbidden. Stores would have to recall the products he endorsed. His contributions to basketball, both professional & college, would be negated. His name would have to be scrubbed from Olympic history. W/out knowing why he fell asleep, that would all be completely unnecessary & rather idiotic, if you ask me. I'm not Saying Benoit should be fondly remembered, or given an award. What he did was horrible, even if we still don't know why he did it. I'm just saying don't ignore his entire life & his contributions just because of what he did in his final days. |

If Chris Benoit killed a member of YOUR family, would you feel the same way?

To me Benoit shouldn't be praised. He was a great wrestler and I do not think he should be stripped from all the records. I think when releasing footage of old events he should be left in and all of his title wins should remain on all of the records. However, I don't think they should make a toy of a known murderer.
Regardless, WWE and Mattel won't ever do this. The money lost from sponsors and all of the controversy is exactly what WWE is trying its hardest to keep away from. Wether they want to ro not, for business reasons they CANT.

I never said I wanted him inducted into the HOF. I was listing off the things that he has been excluded from. I stand by what I said about it hurting other stars. Look @ his match @ WM 20, if you can find it. Shawn & Triple H also put on great performances in that match, but you can't see that if you purchased the DVD after Benoit killed himself & his family because it has been omitted from the release, even though it was the main event. I don't wish for him to be lauded for his career, just not ignored. BTW, thanks for calling me a moron. I, @ least, have an opinion that I'm willing to stand behind. |

It's one thing if you're odd enough to think that's less important than doing crisp German suplexes in some wrestling matches and still enjoy his work... But it's quite another thing to think that WWE and Mattel should be celebrating him. Anybody that genuinely thinks that there should be more posters/dolls/DVDs/HoF inductions for Chris Benoit is most likely severely mentally ill themselves. Definitely sociopathic. Liked Benoit as a wrestler, but obviously he had some serious problems. I don't think anyone should be celebrating him.

I understand why people are willing to personally forgive him or separate the deed from the man, but it would be idiotic for WWE or Mattel as a company to do that.
If WWE started promoting him again, and especially if Mattel made action figures of him, the backlash would be incredible and something they have no business even thinking of getting themselves into.

F*#k this. ARE U CRAZY. Chris Benoit deserves never to be mentioned again in the history of history. A pure piece of Sh*t... And I know that is harsh, but what he did, is just ashame. YES, ONE UNSPEAKABLE ACTION IS ENOUGH TO ERASE A LIFETIME OF ACHEIVEMENTS. Thats just the way it is........
