F*#k this. ARE U CRAZY. Chris Benoit deserves never to be mentioned again in the history of history. A pure piece of Sh*t... And I know that is harsh, but what he did, is just ashame. YES, ONE UNSPEAKABLE ACTION IS ENOUGH TO ERASE A LIFETIME OF ACHEIVEMENTS. Thats just the way it is........ |

Benoit used to be one of my favourite wrestlers but my blood runs cold knowing that I shook hands with and met someone who could do that to an innocent child.

The man should NEVER get any recognition again for the rest of the history of the world. He KILLED his  ing wife, and child. Its as simple as that. Those actions are unforgivable and forever outweigh every single thing he did in his professional career.
I'm not Saying Benoit should be fondly remembered, or given an award. What he did was horrible, even if we still don't know why he did it. I'm just saying don't ignore his entire life & his contributions just because of what he did in his final days. Apples to oranges. If Jordan killed his family then him self yes he deserves the same treatment. You can't compare a hypothetical car accident to a murder that was not a car accident. Also look how shuned jordan was for his son not playing at that college because they did not use nike products. I think some of his sponsors even dropped him. Also jordan was the hogan of basket ball he sucks in the front office. He should have never come back after his retirement he could have gone out on the top of his game. |

The only person responsible for erasing Chris Benoit's career is Chris Benoit. I'll admit he used to be one of my own favorites, but what he did completely and utterly negates his wrestling career, plain and simple.
When it comes down to it, this is an argument about a world-famous, much trusted brand for children (Mattel) making a kids' toy of a man who is mostly known for brutally murdering his wife and child with his bare hands.

You'll have better luck picking up a custom online pal but in the same token I wouldn't mind having a Elite Chris Benoit as well. When it all comes to it a murder can never be justified no matter who the individual may be, it doesn't make a difference what the circumstances are either theoretically or hypothetically.

ugh I hate when this topic comes up because all rational-minded people on both sides seem to lose it completely.
Personally Benoit is one of my all-time favourite wrestlers, absolutely techincally sound and wrestlers today would do well to study matches of him vs Angle, Lesnar, Eddie, HBK, Booker, you name it. But what he did in the last 72 hours of his life was heinous, I have a 3-year old so it does hit home. And I felt betrayed, that I was such a fan and this is what he did. But I'm not one to forget history. History should not be revised, what happened happened. If you think he had a 80-year old Alzheimer brain or that he just finally snapped, whatever it is, it happened. But to try to erase it all as he never existed is just as callous as his actions were in my opinion.
I get why they won't/can't sell merchandise or glorify him in any way, but what I don't get is re-writing history to remove him from the books. I'm sorry, if we removed Hitler, Dahmer, the Olahoma bomber or the idiot that shot up those kindergarden kids this past Christmas....then what does that do?
Those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it.
Yes he's a murderer, but I can still watch a cage match with him vs Angle on RAW - that's my choice, not yours to dictate to me what I should or shouldn't do.
Anyways, he'll never get a toy, rightfully so - so I just made one myself.
