I'm just wondering if it's ever been confirmed on any level that Scott Hall is on Mattel's figure blacklist, because of his well documented substance abuse problems, or for some other reason. It seems to me that if he wasn't they would have made a figure of him a long time ago either as Razor or himself, since he was, and still kind of is, a pretty popular character.
The only reason I'm asking, is because I'd really like a figure of him for my collection and I'm contemplating just breaking down and getting the Jakks Deluxe Classic version of him if there's no chance of Mattel ever making him. But if this isn't the case then I'd rather wait it out for a Mattel one, and not have to invest anymore money into Jakks figures.

Seriously, a Jakks R3 figure is about £5 or something. Just ebay it. They aren't rare at all. Also why would you get a Deluxe Jakks Classic? It's head would be HUGE! Hell, if you want that head - I'll sell you one.

He's a never with Mattel. As is Chyna and Benoit. They said it won't happen with them. They are a children's toys company there's no way they are going to want that kind of negative attention that they would surely get from special interest groups.

If substance abuse was the issue why the Hell do we have two Jake Roberts figures? The man said in the documentary 'Beyond The Mat' that he would trade indie bookings for crack

Yes Mattel said it isn't happening ever. Well that settles that. Thanks for the quick response.

Are there others besides Hall, Benoit, and Chyna that they openly said no to? Owen Hart?

If DDP gets him truly clean and healthy again, things could change. Scott could be signed onto the Legends program by WWE, which means it's entirely up to Mattel after that. That's our only shot.
They'd make Owen in a heartbeat, it's Martha holding off on that. There's no controversy with Owen other than his rights being unattainable.

Razor admitted to killing a man in self defense. So Mattel so "no". But if he can turn his life around and maybe reach a deal with WWE, then maybe Mattel will come around eventually.

Jake should have also been a no, as well as Von Erich, who killed himself. Also, how many current roster stars have been suspended for drug test failures?
