I kept clicking back between the Spurs/Thunder to see if anything decent was going on during Raw last night and was shocked to see how bad things were.
That Maddox segment was terrible. His fairy looking as should be fired for that segment alone.
Usually atleast WWE is watchable/exciting during the RTWM but this years is terrible. Not mediocre, plain terrible. Everything is so cheesey and contrived right now. Nothing exciting and organic.
We're getting the same 2 feuds from WM28 and Summerslam with damn near the same storylines and style. Nothing different in either feud, are the serious. On top of it all, these guys are barely on tv at the same time ever.
They spend more time talking about social media, their terrible movies, and trying to be trendy than they do pro wrestling.
Raw looks like it's on Nick Jr. and i'm not talking about the content of the show. There's alot you can do within the pg confines, alot of the IWC has made the pg rating the scapegoat for the lack of creativity in the WWE offices.
With that said, watch an episode from 1999 and than Watch last nights episode. Without paying attention to the edgier content of 99, which episode had more emphasis on telling compelling stories and developing characters?
The lack of those two things goes beyond a rating.
I don't think i've ever been less interested in the WWE than i am right now, these shows are terribly done. If you honestly think i'm just a rambling idiot than actually go and watch an episode from 1997-1999 or any other great period in wrestling and tell me that quality is in the last few years of Raw.
Thats what it's all about quality. Attention to detail and realism also go a long way. Where is any of that now?
I'm going to name 5 things just for the hell of it that i dislike right now.
1. Superstars losing with no rhyme or reason
2. No prestigious divisions with good title chases
3. Legends coming back or making cameos and it being short and boring.
4. Everything sounds scripted and forced
5. WWE trying to be more mainstream than putting on a wrestling show.
Thoughts on the state of the WWE without getting into match quality?

Eh, I thought the period where The Miz was champion was pretty awful... there wasn't really much roster depth at all, I stopped watching for a while around that time...
Since Punk ran off with the title at Money In The Bank, I've been fairly interested, for the most part... I question the booking of guys like Ziggler and Cesaro, but hope WWE has a larger plan for them...
You have a valid point about the legends - the night in December where Flair came out in Philly, got the crowd on their feet, sparred with Punk, battled The Shield - basically took over the show for 30 minutes - that was magical. The last two times he came out were complete WrestleCrap-in-the-making.
I am also a bit disappointed with the Road To Wrestlemania, however I did enjoy the Undertaker/Punk/Bearer stuff, I think they handled that booking pretty well... I'm hoping they can make Rock/Cena more interesting - I was hoping for a Rock heel turn, I think that would have made the match much more compelling.
Eh, as bad as it is at the moment, I'm pretty sure it was worse three years ago... so I'm keeping an open mind that they're going through some "growing pains" right now, as the torch is being passed from Vince, and HHH slowly takes the reigns.
TNA is pretty unwatchable on a consisent basis, so what other option do we have? I think we're coming out of the Dark Age...

The dark age was when they almost went under in the mid 90s.They are no where near that stage.

Everything is so rushed these days. There's no build up for any fueds anymore. None of the matches so far at Wrestlemania make no sense to me. It seems like WWE don't really care about their product anymore. The last few years wrestling has been bland really. We need more build ups, longer fueds and better story lines from them. I mean if you have three hours each monday there should be no reason why you couldn't build better fueds and storylines.

I disagree with anybodying saying 33-4 years ago was worse. We were all able to bank on one man saving the show from being complete shit...................... HBK! Since Michaels has been gone there is no silver lining.

The dark age was when they almost went under in the mid 90s.They are no where near that stage. But WCW was a threat in the mid 90's and this era hasn't to deal with a rival promotion.

Punk's alright, but i don't think he could touch HBK or what he brought to the product. Michaels was a walking 5 star.

I really enjoy some of todays stars, and think they are great wrestlers (such as Daniel Bryan, Cesaro, Ziggler, Punk, the Miz, and of course veterans like Y2J and Kane)
But the storylines right now are very dull, the length of most matches are far to short, and everything is so predictable.
and as mentioned above, this is the worst road to WM ever.
I think this is the most bored I have been with the WWE in the 25 years I have watched it, and that is a shame, because they have some of the best talent they ever had right now.

I agree with you about the talent, WWE has so great wrestlers right now for sure! It's definitely not the fault of the talent imo. This crop of talent couldn't probably hold a candle to Hart/Michaels/Savage/Roberts etc. but they are still talented in their own right. The roster doesn't have the depth of the past, but it's not to blame for the lack of creativity.

Not even close. I honestly don't see any appeal in the New Generation era outside main events and a few Intercontinental Championship matches. Terrible gimmicks, matches, WWF was getting slaughtered by WCW, and etc.

Yeah, the Miz/Barrett/Jericho/Maddoxs was REALLY BAD(It was bad before maddoxs showed up, But he made it even worse) But other then that i really enjoyed RAW and have been for some time. Its very far from a "DARK AGE" imo. If you want a real dark age go look at what TNA is limping to the barn with

I'm buying Wrestlemania because I hope the show will be good and I always watch Wrestlemania with friends and family, but the build up to this Wrestlemania so far has been the worst ever IMO. I'm not excited for a single match on the card, and the shows leading to it have been pretty boring IMO.
We should get at least 1 big NEW match at Wrestlemania with all of the talent they have for WM 29, but they are just giving us rematches.
I miss the days when every segment on Raw meant something and every feud was treated as a decent to big sized feud.

Most of us grew up during the Attitude Era and have used it as a benchmark for WWE throughout the years. I know we can never return to that era, but it seems the product is getting worse with chessy commentary and a focus on social media. I am however liking this RTWM this year because of the return of my favorites: Taker, HHH and Rock. I really only watch for the Undertaker nowadays and I've decided that once he retires I will no longer have an interest in WWE.
