Much like I refuse to believe triplehfan is my age, I find it hard to accept thesystem is so young.
grumpyoldman: Have you checked any other bands Ghoul's members are in yet? I'm not sure if I recommended anyone after you first mentioned you liked Ghoul at the GWAR show, but here are some that you might enjoy: Impaled, Dekapitator, Engorged, Exhumed. Frightmare might also be up your alley.

Takes me back to my years in High School....sadly I just dont keep up with metal the way I used to. Is there any good new metal? Seems like when I ask this people point me toward Black Veil Brides and such.....not really my cup of tea.

Seems like when I ask this people point me toward Black Veil Brides and such.....not really my cup of tea. It all depends on what subgenres you're into. Death metal has been very interesting lately with a lot of great albums coming out in the past few years. I'm not a fan of the current shoegaze/atmospheric influence that's become popular in black metal, but there are still a good amount of traditional black metal around as well as bands that are doing interesting, unique things with it. If you want something slow, my favorite doom bands (active or not) are Electric Wizard, Reverend Bizarre, and Church of Misery (Jap). If you're looking for more mainstream metal, I'm the wrong guy to talk to. Jimmy III Tears and Robert Metal (I think those are their names) seem to be pretty knowledgeable on bands more commonly associated with just "metal" and no subgenre. Sorry to drag on, but the last part reminded me of a party I was at a few weeks ago. A friend of mine asked if I wanted to drum while he played some "metal songs" on guitar. His drum set is absolutely ridiculous, so I was excited to play something slow and doomy or insanely fast. He asked me if I knew "Vampire," which I've never heard of... it was a Godsmack song. My fun ended there.

Metallica is my all-time favorite metal group. I remember Anthrax doing a metal cover of Public Enemy's "Bring The Noise" and how Scott Ian was rapping so damn fast I couldn't imitate him.

Been around for a few years but Cattle Decapatation, and Dying Fetus are pretty good if looking for something heavier.

Seems like when I ask this people point me toward Black Veil Brides and such.....not really my cup of tea. Well, like the other guy said, it depends on what sub-genre you like. Me, I like mostly all. So here's a few. Avenged sevenfold (One of my favs, going to the tour for Carry On) Falling in Reverse Emphatic Tantric Some of Five Finger Death Punch would fall in this category Papa Roach. If you want any other music references just ask bro.

I have been trying to get into more music recently. Can anyone recommend some Industrial/Melodic Metal? The only industrial bands I listen to are Marilyn Manson( I think your familiar with him), Jack Off Jill, N.I.N.,Rammstein, and Ministry

I have been trying to get into more music recently. Can anyone recommend some Industrial/Melodic Metal? The CNK I'd start with the newest album, which is all covers. It might be easier to get into their propaganda metal style with songs you're already familiar with then move on to their originals.
