Are some of you really that delusional? No where, anywhere, does it say that WWE can now use Owen for merchandise, videos, etc. They settled the lawsuit that Martha filed against them for using Owen in the Hart & Soul DVD without her permission and without giving her royalties. Meaning WWE paid her off to compensate for that isolated incident. How in the blue hell do you get 'WWE now has the rights to Owen!' out of that?

I really dont get this Martha Hart BS, if Bret Hart (his own FREAKING BROTHER) has no problem with the WWE and not only being on the program today but having them merchandise his image obviously he wouldnt have a problem with his late bro being made into a figure or being put into a DVD. Very few spouses will ever reach the level or beyond that of a bro and bro relationship, so if Brets cool with it I honestly am fine with them merchandising Owens image.

If they make a blue blazer, do you think it would come with a top rope turn buckle? Jk of course. I still don't see a figure of owen coming. And if I were Martha, it'd be comments like this that would make it that no one would get a figure of Owen.  |

If there is none, I blame the vague/incorrect reporting. Some posts I read clearly said image for merchandising. The "undisclosed details" part was in regards to the money part of the settlement. I'm sorry if I incorrectly got anybody excited. Heck, I was excited.

TBH, I hope we don't get one. Honestly, it just seems selfish in my opinion. The WWE was responsible for someone's death. Unless Martha feels it is fine, I don't think it would be right at all. I get we all want a figure of him and him in a video game but let's be real. A woman lost her husband because of a company. She should get everything out of it. WWE doesn't deserve crap. Think about it, if you had someone you love die *knock on wood* in any company that obtains a likeness and they are responsible for their death, wouldn't you be pissed off if they got the deceased person's likeness anyway even though you feel they don't deserve it. I am sure this comment will get a lot of "heat" from some or a lot of you, I just feel it's not right.

Martha hate Vince,and WWE,with all her (pun intended) heart. which is understandable,cause,you know,her husband died from a stunt gone wrong. but she wants absolutely nothing to do with them or wrestling in general,so that's why she won't ever come to an agreement with Vince on using Owen for stuff. and,unfortunately,it doesn't matter to her what Bret,or any of the Hart family,has to say. the sordid details are in Bret's book,but basically after the initial lawsuit over his death was settled,Martha completely withdrew from the Hart family,publicly proclaimed she wanted nothing to do with them, won't let any of them see her children, and said while she carries Owen's last name,she doesn't consider herself a Hart.hell,Bret said he hasn't seen his niece or nephew in almost a decade,and that Martha is basically attempting to erase Owen's legacy as a wrestler,as if it never existed. |

Its just royalties that Martha is collecting from them using Owen Harts image. There is going to be no figure of him for a long time if ever.

Owen at any chance could have said he did not want to do that, but he still went through with it (regardless of being told the line could only hold so much weight) he still did it. That is not on WWE, that is Owen Hart making the final decision. I think it was hella nice of WWE to stand up and take any fault for wrong doings in that accident (when they didn't even really have any to begin with). Martha really is a bitch from what i hear and read. I guess she won't even let her kids see any of the Hart family and shit, and for her to bury her own husbands legacy and prevent it from ever reaching a point he wanted it to (Hall of Fame, Merchandise etc) is pretty sickening on her part. I understand her pain of losing someone but its been 12 years now and all she is doing is pissing on her own "loved ones" legacy that he worked so hard to be a legend in. He dies, and she takes it all away from him. |
