a larger part of the roster in elite.
We don't need more Ortons, Cenas, Sheamus', Big Show, R-Truth, Rey, Sin Cara, Kanes, CM Punks and Miz's.
We need Usos, Otunga, McIntyre, Jinder, JTG, Yoshi Tatsu, McGillicutty, Darren Young, Titus O'neil, Justin Gabriel, Tyson Kidd, Alex Riley, Epico, Primo, Swagger.
We've missed are chance on alot of elites already....because the wrestler either left......or was injured.
Never got a Hunico, Camacho, Sin Cara Negro, newer Dibiase posse attire, more Evan bournes, Morrison in pants, Big Zeke w/ hair, Tommy Dreamer, Mike Knox, Shelton Benjamin, Hurricane, Carlito, Mason Ryan, Husky Harris or Chris Masters

They claim that since they are not on TV they wouldn't sell.
It's not like guys like Cena, Orton and Mysterio who are (were in Mysterio's case) on TV weekly don't warm the shelves.
So they should give us more variety.

They actually don't sit on the shelves in a large scale market perspective. It's only certain areas that John Cena, Mysterio, Sheamus, Randy Orton, stay on the pegs. I personally have never even seen the "Rise Above Hate" elite John Cena in any store in my area. I only saw the Basic 24 version once and I bought it. I have a hard time finding the top named superstars. I could never get a hold of the Elite King Sheamus. It's ridiculous in certain areas that these figures just sit and in areas like mine you only get left with Alica Fox, Kofi Kingston, The MIZ. There were three Alica Fox's at my Walmart the other day.
I don't want any of those mentioned above. I want an updated Heath Slater, Jinder, Drew McIntyre, and an Elite Great Khali! I would like to see more names made but if they aren't relevant there is no point in making them. Like for example, if Mattel made an NXT star like Maxine and truthfully not many have heard of her. She wouldn't sell because no one knows who she is. So It's just not reasonable in today's market.

MDT's logic of "people not on TV don't sell" is pretty stupid considering the Flashbacks are their most popular item and some of those characters have been off WWE TV for decades or are dead and they still sell.
The bottom line is that people want NEW CHARACTERS, not the same 5 guys OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER.

Flashbacks aren't necessarily the most popular. They are short packed (except for HBK). Just because you see more Cenas doesn't mean he's less popular. In total, Cena may outsell a flashback 2 to 1, but because of the packing it would appear as if that's not the case.

I want new characters as well! I feel that people like Otunga, Mcgillicutty. PTP, Riley, Usos etc. should have had Elites by now.

They should make more of the random superstars and divas. Sometimes though they do, the most recently announced Basic line has Zack Ryder, R-Truth, and Rosa Mendes in it. They aren't exactly top talent, but Mattel is making them. Maybe it just takes them awhile. Especially when ya only make five figures per series, it is hard to make everyone, and everybody happy. The constant Orton's and Cena's can be annoying, but at least they try sometimes to make someone new.

There is no good reason why a guy employed by the WWE on the main roster can't get one Elite made

whats silly is that someone like R-truth has 3 elites already. He's won 1 title w/ Kofi.
Drew has had 1 figure------ 2x IC champ and 1 tag title Justin Gabriel had 1 figure---------3x tag champ. Had several US title shots Heath didn't get an elite till series 16----------3x tag champ. On TV consistently David Otunga has 0 elites-------used to be on TV consistently. 2x Tag champ JTG & Usos-------consistently on Superstars Tyson Kidd------2x tag champ
*RAW & SmackDown aren't the only shows. If ur a wrestling nerd like me....u watch Superstars/NXT/Main Event and Saturday Morning Slam.
Thats another 3 1/2 hrs of WWE programming a week that consistently feature Khali, divas, low mid card and tag matches.
If u watch those shows like I do, then the arguement that Usos (etc.) don't get TV time is null....because I see like 2 Usos matches per week.

Just because YOU got your Orton/Rey/Cena/Punk/Bryan and want some figures of wrestlers that just don't have the appeal to the general public means nothing. Remember there's new collectors/kids who are getting their first figure every day and most of the time especially with the kids they are going to want the good guys or people they know and see on a weekly basis. That's why they get the heavier case packs because retailer want them.
As fas as Flashbacks go Kids aren't buying FB they are either 1 per case or 1 per 2 case figures the collectors are buying. Parents aren't buying them for their kids.
And even with modern guys I find Santino is popular with kids, but on two different occasions last week I saw mothers tell their sons no to him because they (the mothers) never heard of him. So the kids ended up with E20 Cena and a basic Brodus in one case and the other boy got e20 Punk & b25 Orton. She wouldn't let him get the Elite Rhodes either because the Basic 27 version was there and cheaper. So yeah I can see why they don't produce certain wrestlers as elites.
Even though we collectors might want them retailers want to stock the wrestler who the majority (parents/grandparents) of their customers will buy. And the WWE wants a majority of the merchandise to be of the guys that their company is based around now...not the guys who might become stars in the future.
Mattel, WWE and retailers know if a store has 30 Cena figures on the pegs next to 30 McIntyre figures the 30 Cena figures will sell out long before the McIntyre figures will.

We've still got like 5 Rise Above Hate Cenas clogging the pegs at Walmart. Then when they finally sell they put out like 3 more! I never saw the last McIntyre.

Basics 31, all figures we already have. I dont know about Rosa, but I dont care cause I dont buy Divas. So 31 is a throw away set for me. I dont want ANOTHER Kane/Wade/Rtruth/Alberto/Ryder. Ringside knows this set wont sell very well so the figures with the exception of Rosa are pretty cheap.
Basics 30 is the exact same thing. Only the Diva goes for a higher price and the Midget. Other than that the figures are all cheap and will not sell very well.
Basics 29 is nice cause we get some flashback figures only except even then Mattel COULD NOT let fans have an all flashback set so they stuck in shelf warmers Cena and BigShow into the Mix.
It gets real old real fast to see the same guys in the figure line up. Mattel needs to mix it up. Give Cena a rest for a year. Give us more flash back figures.Yoko, Boss Man, Lawler, Liz, all havnt wrestled/appeared on tv for a long time now and they were/are the more expensive/harder to get/more in demand figures. Mattel should take note of this and release Flash Back figures in Basics form and more in elite form. Doing this will give Cena/Rey/Orton/Bryan/Bigshow figures a MUCH needed rest.
