Alright, question for those who have attended a WWE live event recently. What's the current policy on photos -- namely, photos taken with a cell phone?
Haven't been to a live event in a few years but planning to attend a house show in June with my son. I want to take pics, but I'm in the habit of using my iPhone camera for everything. My concern is WWE or arena security will confiscate the phone if they think I'm recording video or sharing via social media.
I also own a basic digital camera, but it can also record video (as most decent digital cameras do, these days) so I'm not sure bringing it would allow me to take photos any more than having my iPhone handy would.
What have been your experiences? What's the policy currently, and how strict are they?

You just can't bring professional camera with detachable lenses. Or video cameras.
I use a regular digital camera... and have recorded LOTS of video with it at WWE events. You shouldn't have a problem.

As long as you don't get caught video taping, you should be okay. Also, it depends on the security guard. Some have seen me video tape, but didn't say anything, but one time, someone had told me to stop.

I never got bothered. I went to a house show earlier this year, had a guy working security sitting next to me and he never said a word. I recorded a few videos and took a lot of pics. I was using my iPhone.

They can't really stop people from using their phones. You'll be fine. No one will give you a hard time about taking pictures on your phone or digital camera. If you start to hold it up too long and they take notice, someone may say something, but it all depends on who you're dealing with.
I've been asked a couple of times if I was recording, and I just tell them the truth and show them my camera. I don't ever take videos, but sometimes it takes a while for me to adjust my settings to the light and get a good shot, so it may look like I'm taking video. Usually if they ask and I tell them, they don't bother me again.

You're not supposed to. But anything's legal as long as you're not caught.

It probably has more to do with who is working the door at the arena.

WWE security will approach you to ask:
"ARE YOU RECORDING THIS?!?!?!"

I got yelled at twice last May at a Smackdown house show - the security guy told me to stop recording (with my Canon point-click camera). The thing was, I wasn't recording, so I just said okay.... the guy was kind of mean about it though. Like someone else said, I just take my time to get the settings adjusted to the light for the pictures. Since I never posted them (I wasn't posting on here then) here are a a few samples....
