What a wasted chance, he could have been one of the biggest performers in the company right now. He has the perfect look, he was RED hot when he became a face and was in the main event every week, he really should have won the US title back then off Ziggler.

I remember him getting pretty big reactions back when him and Miz first split up...
This is nothing new with WWE though...

Whether he deserved it or not, I truly thought he was on track to being the next top guy. He was way over for doing essentially nothing but turning on the Miz.

Blame Cena. Apparently he said something or did something wrong and Cena forced Creative to kill his push.

Default CAW.
He was the most boring guy I have seen in the WWE for years.
Any pops he got were all a result of the heat the Miz had built up over that year. He was fine as a background prop but I'm glad he never became a singles star.

He was greener than grass, and the only thing that got a pop when he came out was the opening chords to his theme.
It isn't "What a waste of talent"....but more like "What a waste of an awesome theme that could've went to someone good enough to use it on TV every week."

I'm a fan of the guy, but he was never really "ready" to be one of the big boys. i feel like there still may be time, he's young.

He reminds me of the Rock, his body type and the way he moves. He has some charisma, too. He really should just play the obnoxious egomaniac jock - he's pretty flat as a face.
He finally returned to TV in the Main Event 10-man battle royal last week!

Don't like him, don't like his boots, don't like his sloppy clotheslines.
Awesome theme music though.

He finally returned to TV in the Main Event 10-man battle royal last week! I disagree that he's flat as a face. The fans love cheering for the guy. He just needs a gimmick or a hook, since WWE pretty much only puts midcard faces on TV if they're goofy comedy acts. Maybe let him be a witty and funny face. Making him a heel would just be a waste of his charisma. I don't understand why they took him off TV. It's one thing to say that he's not ready to be a main eventer, but theres no reason why he can't be on RAW and SmackDown weekly as a midcard act. I don't believe it's because of Cena. Cena doesn't have that kind of influence. He might be able to say "I don't want to team with this guy" or "I don't want to feud with this guy", but Cena doesn't have the stroke to affect wrestlers' booking unless it's in relation to his own.

Nah, he's just another cookie-cutter wrestler with a bland gimmick. he was RED hot when he became a face and was in the main event every week So? Anybody on the roster could have been given the exact same push, he was only over just because he was paired with the top heel in the company. he really should have won the US title back then off Ziggler. No, that would have been terrible and insulting to Ziggler who unlike Riley, had already paid his dues after being given multiple terrible gimmicks during the course of his WWE career. Riley was given an undeserved mega push and if he truly is the future of the company, he'll eventually rebound.

And this is another thing....why did he switch from boots to kickpads? I've never seen him throw any kind of kick.

And this is another thing....why did he switch from boots to kickpads? I've never seen him throw any kind of kick. I think he wears them because he, like Cena, wrestles in sneakers. The sneakers are actually a subtle way for him to stand out, but his entire look would look awkward if he didn't wear the kickpads. It used to bother me, but now I think they're a pretty good look.

I never really was big on A-Ry. As mentioned above, I felt he was rather bland.

Alex Riley only seemed over because he split with the biggest heel in the company at the time. I knew it was only a matter of time before the reactions died and he was on the C-show... he never really impressed me that much, he was decent but the WWE has a LOT of decent workers that I'd rather see.

I'm guessing you don't even watch the C-Shows. Riley was still getting big reactions on them. House show reports also tend to mention that the crowd loves him.

Like others have said, I think he could have easily been the next "Cena" caliber star for the new generation. He always get a great reaction from the crowd at the shows I've been to, and has a fantastic look that usually appeals to WWE.

I really liked him, he had some awesome music and the crowd are always pumped for him. He got a big reaction in a dark match over here this week and I'd rather him on my tv every week than some stupid thing with khali or some other wrestlers that aren't really entertaining to me.
He seems a bit like Cena on here with the mix reaction, quite odd how he splits opinions this much.
