So as some of you remember I posted about a year ago about finding the Jakks Real Scale Ring at Goodwill for $4. The ring was missing some pieces and needed some work as you can see from the pics in the original post on here. Well with thanks to fellow WFigs member InPunkWeTrust for some of the missing parts and with a little piecing together I fixed it up and thought I would share it with you guys.
First off the pieces that held both ring base pieces together were broken so I needed something that I could use to hold the ring together.
Binder clips may seem a bit odd but they do the trick.
I start by using 3 binder clips and screwing them into place with the screws from the original fasteners.
Then I use the rest of my binder clips across the middle of the ring. The hold it together really well
As cool as the fabric turnbuckle pads are, i just didnt like them so I decided to use the add on turnbuckles from the Jakks ring gear set.
It looks good but with the missing riser pegs underneath its not the right height and causes the ring skirt to lay on the ground.
So I found these pieces from a card board display that was getting thrown away at work.
And I think they raise it up to just about the right height.

My wife and I went out tonight. We thought we would head out of town, stop at some stores, and grab a bite to eat. So we drove about an hour south to look at some stores around the Rivergate area. I was on the look out for wrestling figures while she was looking for some scrapbook supplies. Around the time we got into town we started hearing a thumping sound while driving. We got out, checked the tires and had apparently ran over a screw. Luckily the tire wasn't flat, but we had to go somewhere to get the screw out and plug the tire. So now we head about 15-20 minutes back in the direction we came from to the nearest WalMart, as most tire shops were already closing. Well after getting the tire fixed, it was late enough we decided just to just stop at the next passing WalMart and Goodwill and head back home. We ended up getting to Goodwill 5 minutes before they closed, but seeing as I found a small collection of Marvel Universe figures last time I stopped I wanted to check it out before we went home. So with the store closing in 5 minutes, we went in and found this ....
Its in used condition and missing some pieces, but for $4 I couldn't pass it up. Its missing one of the top red pieces that hold the cage together, 2 of the bottom cage pieces, 2 turnbuckle hooks, 2 turnbuckle covers, the cage door, and I'm assuming there's suppose to be an extra part to the platform underneath as half the ringskirt lays on the ground. Again, its not in perfect condition, but I thought maybe I can fix it up. I wanted one of these rings since they came out but don't believe I ever saw them in store and couldn't see myself paying the online price plus shipping, so I passed.
I may try to fix it up, or after awhile if I can't find the pieces I need, I may end up selling it to anyone that needs the parts. But for now I'm happy to add this piece to my collection.
I was wondering if anyone has tried putting the cage on the Jakks BCA Monster Ring? I know the red pieces won't attach to the Monster Rings ring posts, but was just wondering if it was the right size for it.
If the time comes that I get tired of not having all the pieces and I get rid of it, I'll probably keep the cage pieces and try them out on my old Monster Ring. Or may even try to trim them down someway to fit my Tribute to the Troops ring, since it fits the 'Old School' look.
