I thought this would be an interesting thread for us classic's guys. I think we're pretty much on the same page with WWE currently being bland. We're never afraid to state the obvious but rarely do we state how we'd book things if we could.
So, how would you book it?
Here's the guidelines.
1. You must only use the current roster. 2. You must stay in the PG realm
Given those two guidelines. If you could work with today's WWE landscape, what would you do?
I'm going to think on this before I do my write up. But I wanted to get it going and see you guys think of the thread idea.

John Cena would never be WWE champ after this reign, he would start putting people over clean as evryone is sick of the superman crap.
Make a whole bunch of tag teams and bring some prestige back to the division
Combine U.S/Intercontinental belts
Combine World/WWE Titles
6 PPV's a year (Royal Rumble, Wrestlemania, King of the Ring, Summerslam, Survivors Series, Elimination Chamber)
Start using vignettes leading up to a debut (this always worked well in 90's)

I would first split the brands. I would make the draft either the way it used to be or make it so it brings in people from NXT to the main roster. for RAW I would do.. WWE Championship U.S Championship Tag Team Championship (RAW) Divas Championship
John Cena Kofi Kingston Kaitlyn AJ Alberto Del Rio Alex Riley Alicia Fox Antonio Cesaro Bellas Brock Lesnar Chris Jericho Curt Hawkins Prime Time Players David Otunga The Rock Evan Bourne Primo & Epico Great Khali Hornswoggle Uso's Layla The Miz Michael McGillicutty Sheild Santino Marella Sin Cara Tamina Ted DiBiase Triple H Zack Ryder
Smackdown! World Heavyweight Intercontinental Tag Team (Smackdown!) Womens
Dolph Ziggler CM Punk Wade Barrett Kane Daniel Bryan Aksana Big E Langston Big Show Bo Dallas Tons Of Funk Hunico & Camacho Christian Rhodes Scholars 3MB Fandango Ezekiel Jackson Jack Swagger JTG Justin Gabriel Tyson Kidd Mark Henry Cameron & Naomi Natalya R-Truth Randy Orton Rey Mysterio Ryback Sheamus Yoshi Tatsu
I would push guys like Alex Riley and Ted DiBiase to the U.S Title, John and Punk would stay away from the championship scene for a while. Big E Langston and Antonio Cesaro would be at the IC Title picture. I'd make Kofi and Orton turn heel. Make Kofi (as heel) world champion, have Christian beat him for it. Randy turns heel on Christian, eventually beats Christian for title. I'd have Ryback be WWE Champion and feud with anyone.. I would bring Zack and Curt together as a team and win the RAW Tag titles. Tons of Funk would win the Smackdown! Tag titles. The Sheild would break up and feud with each other...
basic stuff.

I think I'd go for a brand split since I think the roster's big enough to cope, and probably too big to feature everyone that should be featured. Smackdown would go live on Thursdays, Raw back to 2 hours. Unify WHC and WWE title, and have the WWE title, the Tag titles, and the Divas title non brand specific, with those champions able to feature on either show. IC belt on Raw, US belt on Smackdown, with them both elevated massively. I'd have brand specific PPVs (Aside from the big 4) and generally the world champion would appear more on which ever brand has the upcoming PPV, in order to build the match with a contender from that brand. Meanwhile the IC or US champion would anchor the ship on the other brand.
Actually, thinking about it now, I'd probably go for 2 sets of brand specific Tag titles as well, and really fill out and push the tag division. I'd also try at making matches mean more, by giving the sense that a good run of big wins for a guy will climb them up the ladder and eventually lead to a title shot.

Ziggler would be WWE champ. he's the current Hbk lets face it. he is Hbk without the push. he can make anyone look good and he can sell anything.(I'd get rid of the WHC) there is no need for two champs and the WWE title mint more when it was the only title. Ziggler would feud with cm punk. it would be booked as a current Hbk/Hart feud kinda thing. More vignettes. less crappy acting.

Rhodes Scholars would be my Tag Champs, and in losing Kane and Bryan would enter a long feud. Fandango would be the US/IC Champ,no question. I'd bring back a form of the Cruiserweight title, but call it something different. maybe the "High Flyers" Championship,so that guys like Kofi and Cesaro could compete for it as well.

I wouldn't turn Cena heel straight away......I would try the following first.
1)The smiley Shiite.no matter what happen to Cena he is laughing about it afterwards.....Miz had him eliminated from The Rumble in 2011.Cena comes out and has a laugh with him the next night?why?all this does is underscore the fact that Miz is no match for Superjohnny.he doesn't care because he KNOWS he will get to WM......thusly wrecking interest in the Elimination Chamber PPV.
2)His in ring work but ESPECIALLY his punches.get Arn Anderson and Jerry lawler to work with him to convincingly punch people.I would say his selling but that seems beyond repair.....
3)the invincibility thing.I always use this example but lets have a gander at the Ziggler cage match.every manner of finisher and interference was used here but Cena still won.AJ would have had to have used a gun on Cena for DZ to win this.making your opponents finishers look like crap is not a wise move.I mean why is the Zigzag good enough to pin Orton but not Cena?also see last weeks Raw.....Cole was screaming at the top of his voice that basically Reigns spear only worked because Cenas leg was injured.......great message to send out Vinnie.also when Cena was selling for Lesnar and taking a beating the crowd was 100% behind him on the comebacks.until he sprang to life pinned Lesnar and no sold the hiding he took after the match to share a F*cking joke with the crowd.
I could continue but it depresses me.

- Cut down on the amount of weekly programming; RAW reverts to 2 hours, Smackdown moves to a Live Tuesday night timeslot, Main Event, Superstars and Sat Morning Slam cut out
- Trim a bit of fat off the roster (not necessarily firings, moving guys back into developmental though), such as guys like Mason Ryan, Otunga, Yoshi Tatsu, Hawkins, JTG etc.
- Cut down PPV schedule to 5 PPVs a year: Royal Rumble in January, WrestleMania in April, King of the Ring in June, Summerslam in August, Survivor Series in November
- Assign an authority figure who isn't a bumbling fool that the audience treats like a joke. Someone of the quality of past GMs like Foley, Bischoff, Heyman, Regal etc.
- Unify the WWE and World Titles, revert back to the 'Undisputed' Title belt.
- Intercontinental Title would once again become THE second-tier Championship, with U.S. Title being the third-tier. There would be more focus on the Tag Team Division too. There are plenty of good teams apart from Team Hell No (Usos, Gabriel/ Kidd, PTP, Colons, Mysterio/ Sin Cara, Shield and so on) that could make up this division.
- Superstars would not be assigned to one specific show/ brand, however the general plan would be that names that didn't feature on that week's episode of RAW would be more likely to feature on Smackdown. Where possible (and in the case of big storylines/ feuds), bigger names would appear on both shows in one week, but there would be an aspect of talent rotation, so nobody would miss out for weeks on end.
- There would be much more focus on competition for the second and third tier Titles. Every match between the guys not in the WWE Title picture would have Intercontinental/ U.S. Title implications. If these guys aren't competing to win Championships, why do they bother getting up go to work (from a kayfabe standpoint, that is)?
- The Divas Title would be scrapped. Sue me.
- Feuds would lead to specialty match-ups, as opposed to the current notion of gimmicks PPVs being the reason for gimmick matches.
- We would never see a singing contest or dance-off ever again.
- The Great Khali would never 'wrestle' again.
- The official commentary team for all shows would be Jim Ross, JBL and William Regal.
- The overly flashy, LED-centric HD sets would be done away with in favour of sets with more character to make the two weekly shows and PPVs feel unique.
- RAW would have red ring ropes. Smackdown would have blue. PPVs would have black ropes.
- 1-minute matches would be a rarity. Shock wins from an early roll-up or a competitor being knocked out would occur occasionally, but the idea of the 40 second squash match would be history.

-Ryback would have never turned heel. He would beat Cena CLEAN for the title at whatever the June PPV is this year or SummerSlam. -Dolph beats Swagger & Del Rio and goes onto a feud with Orton. Dolph wins the feud CLEAN. -Swagger & Del Rio continue to feud for a couple of months with both men trading clean wins over each other. Then we gget a big blow off match in the Summer with some stip like 3 Stages of Hell. -Cesaro would have never lost the title to Kofi and I'd put him in a feud with Sheamus. Why? I bet they could have some good matches and Sheamus can put him over. -The Shield continues to destroy everything that moves, beating Hell No for the tag titles. I say 'Taker can finally be the one to stop them. -Bryan and Kane split up and have a feud, not much left they can do as a team. -Since Cesaro can't hold the title forever, I think Big E could get it and then AJ wins the Divas Title. Dolph and Big E could win the tag titles if we got carried away, but that would be too much. -Mark Henry continues to do what he does, would have extended his feud with Ryback until Ryback got the win at Extreme Rules. -Call up Ohno and Bray Wyatt.

Ryback turning heel has been an incredibly stupid move.they had something with him and after ER it will be gone.especially when Superjohnny no sells the meathook and shellshock.watch this space.if Im wrong itll be happy days.
also Brock should beat HHH in the cage.if he doesn't?what was the point in resigning him Vince?1 win outta 4 is hardly impressive is it?why should anyone be interested in this well paid jobber?he NEEDS to go over at Extreme Rules.convincingly too.....
I would then use this to propel Lesnar to a title shot against Cena @ Summerslam.where he should beat him.Lesnars new contract has substantially more dates.

Okay I'm going to finally throw my two cents in with one idea I've had. This is how I would have brought Big E Langston in.
Kofi Kingston and Antonio Cesaro would have been involved in a series of matches for the US title where Kofi keeps coming up short. This goes on for a good month and the more losses that pile up the more Kofi shows frustration.
It comes down to Kofi getting one final shot at a PPV. During this match Big E runs out. The announcers build that they don't know who this is. He interferes and costs Antonio the title. Kofi finally gets his win and turns heel.
The next night on Raw Kofi comes out with Langston in toe. He cuts a promo about how he's tired of being overlooked, pushed to the back burner and being an afterthought.
He goes on to defend the title successfully over the course of a few months, sometimes with the help of Langston, sometimes on his own. As time goes on he grows increasingly cocky and mistreats Big E. For a while Big E takes it until eventually he finally snaps and it heads to a Big E/Kingston PPV match for the US title with Big E going over and dethroning Kingston.
This makes Cesaro look strong because it takes Langstons interference for him to lose his title. It establishes Langston giving him direction, gives Kofi character and direction and elevates the US title
