Shan Carwin just announced his retirement through twitter . Me personally this saddens me as I was a big fan of his and we are left to the imagination of what matches against Overeem, Velasquez, Struve, Nelson and Browne would of been like

Guy had crazy power, it's a shame but oh well.

It's for the best. His back had been in rough shape for a long time.

What a seriously anticlimactic career... He had sick power... But that was really it.

Awesome fighter but terrible cardio and started too late unfortunately. Hence his many injuries.
Overeem, Velasquez, Struve, Nelson and Browne would of been like
He'd beat Struve and Browne on any day. Struve doesn't know how to use his reach and jab effectively. Nelson is a toss up because it depends on how Carwin would fade. Country has good cardio and if Carwin came out strong R1, Country could easy outpace him R2-3. I doubt there'd be a knockout but you never know with Country. Maybe a TKO. Reem depends on which Alistair shows up. If we get intelligent 'Reem who doesn't go stupid and gasses then he'll pick apart Carwin for a R2/3 TKO. If we get Blackzillians defence, arms down chin up Reem then Carwin by a brutal KO.
Velasquez goes like this; R1 Velasquez takes him down. Carwin gasses badly on the ground trying to get up and defend himself. R2 begins, Velasquez takes him down, TKO.
The guy was earning six figures (and way more than 100k) per year working as an Engineer. He never properly went into camp or trained. Oh what could have been.

He'll always be "The guy who tapped to Brock Lesnar" to me.

He was one of my favourite heavyweights. Shame he couldn't have had one last match, rather than his last being the beatdown than Junior gave him. I guess it's for the best with his constant injuries.

Figured this would happen. Shame, I always enjoyed watching him throw down.
