I love Moyes, saying that I can see why the Man U job would seem too big for him but realistically who wouldn't it seem too big for?
I think both Man U and us will have to get used to change, something that's gunna feel weird for a while and will upset a lot of fans.

Neil Lennon 3rd favourite. Ouch. My Dad's always said when Fergie finally retires Moyes will get it and Lennon will get his chance in England with Everton. Don't think he expected Fergie's retirement this soon though, but god help yous if that's how it pans out

I have no idea who we could get, I feel weird looking at new managers. Martinez wouldn't be bad but it's the same situation with Man U had withMoyes in that he's not that proven at a higher level, he's always been relegation zoned and I dunno how well he would do if he makes the step up. But he seems to have a similar working relationship that moyes had wih me bill with the Wigan chairman so maybe he could slot in nicely. I feel lost looking for managers

Think Martinez will definitely get the chance to go to Goodison providing Moyes goes/Wigan do down. Think his reign at Wigan has been moulded the same way Moyes has been at Everton, despite the finishes. My mate is an Evertonian and rates him very highly, personally I think it'll be a match made in heaven.

Not sure what to make of Moyes tbh. It's still too fresh in my mind to think too much about a new United manager.

www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/features/4919352/Alex-Ferguson-funniest-moments-Rants-gaffes-and-spoofs.htmlHim embarrassing Evans made me lol Actually im a utd fan and have been all my life. Thats the first thing you're wrong about. Secondly your wrong about Moyes having a small budget hes virtually had a ZERO budget and yours and my definition of decent differ greatly. Avram Grant had CL experience so maybe you might want to give them job to him...yet he did get portsmouth and west ham relegated. Anyway...kind of hard to make big money spendings when you've got no big money to spend. You said Solksjar because he worked as UTD reserve manager, knows the club well and fergies methods. But now your contradicting yourself because Ole has no CL experience as a manager...no premier league experience as a manager so i dont get where you're coming from. You're not looking for longevity? you want someone to steady the ship? the ship just won the PL what exactly needs steadied? If you trust Fergies managerial judgement then you will trust he thinks Moyes can manage Man Utd. You just said so. You honestly think Fergie hasnt thought about any of the points you brought up? Ill trust Fergies arguments over yours any day of the week, Mike. Well just because he does well with a £0 budget (as stated by other here, not quite what it seems) doesn't give any suggestion that he'll do well with plenty of cash. Obviously CL experience isn't the only thing but its vital and something Moyes is missing. We should be challenging for the CL every season, Moyes doesn't get a bedding in period for CL competition but he'd probably need one. Solsjkaer would be class as he's a hero to the club more than a class manager atm; I'd rather him after a few years of Jose. We shall see. If Moyes becomes manager I'll back him 100% until it seems clear to me that it isn't working. Someone pointed out Klopp won nothing in 7 years at Mainz before Dortmund and Moyes might be the same. But its also possible he's being promoted above his station. We shall see. Fair enough. My biggest concern is with the Glazers. If Moyes gets a few dodgy results or doesnt win a trophy in his first season then you can see the Glazers chopping and changing to keep the fans off their back. Moyes needs time and i hope he gets it because there arent many patient fans in football anymore.

I honestly don't think the Glazers care about having the fans on their backs (Green and Gold campaign) so wouldn't worry about that. Moyes needs time true but this squad is getting better not worse, with plenty of developing/peaking players and cash to replace the older ones, so he should be able to win the league fairly soon with it. He shouldn't have to rebuild so he shouldn't take too long to be winning. You can't afford a long settling in period at a high pressure club like United.

Its not like this has been a secret or anything... Its been widely regarded that Moyes would be SAF replacement if and when he retired for bloody years...( here) I can understand your point about the money he has had to spend at Everton, but all those players have been over a 5-6 year period not in one year...Everton dont have the financial backing to go outr and spend 20+mil on RVP or 50mill on torres...we have to make do with what we've got, and really speaking hes done a phenomenal job too take us from relegation survivalists to a top 10 PL club (bar 2 seasons) hes won the manager of the season award 3 times (the same number as SAF) Its too big of a job for DM to turn down, and it will be interesting to see how well he can do with a good amount of cash to spend each transfer window... on DMs replacement? im not sure...heard a few names mentioned but i dont know who would be best at this moment in time...

Been confirmed. Wonder how Rooney will take it. Still not sure how he'll do with money. Maybe he won't have that much, Woodward (new Chief Executive replacing Gill) is the money guy so he might not want to spend that much.

Sad day he's finally gone. Maybe we could get Rooney back in a swap for Baines/Fellaini, not sure I'd really want him though. From the names I've heard I like laudrup the most but he's only had one season in prem so a bit of inexperience there. Good thing about this though is dad stuck £200 on moyes being the next Man U manager 5 years ago.

You couldn't afford Wayne's wages even if we did the swap ;[ More likely he goes to PSG

I'm sure he'd be happy on £27.33 a week

Next season should be VERY interesting, what with the mangerial changes at Manchester United and Everton, and the likely return of Mourinho.

Personally think Moyes is a great appointment for Utd. Think he may struggle for the first couple of months but I fully expect him to do a good job.
