I liked Raimis movies but the pity parties thrown for Doc Ock and Sandman to make them nice guys in bad situations sickened me.Spideys only conflicted villain is The Lizard.....and Raimi wouldn't use him.even though he featured Connors heavily.
theres nothing wrong(or boring)about having a bad guy just be plain bad.

Although i love comics, i absolutely detest super hero movies. Not a fan at all and i feel comics are best adapted to animation films. Batman Mask of the Phantasm, Under the Red Hood and a few others are much better IMO than those over rated movies.

I liked Raimis films but I prefer the whole Spidey Universe in the ASM more. I think Raimis ones where meant to appeal to a wider audience with comic book films not being like they are today whereas ASM following on from all of Marvels and Dark Knight films could be more comic book style and build a universe for the character rather than the Universe being a normal one.
One thing I hated about Raimis Spider-Man films is MJ was always captured for the big show down, when it happened in #3 it pissed me off, why cant he just fight a damn bad guy without MJ being in trouble.

Amazing Spiderman destroyed the originals. The story and actors were a billion times better and it was just all around awesome.

I agree, I want to re-watch the Amazing Spiderman again but I prefer the Tobey Maguire Spidermans.

I stopped reading after "Tobey Maguire's performance was great." Yeah sounds to me like the OP has a chip on his shoulder towards "popular kids" also.

Andrew Garfield doesn't look the part at all, he looks like Ashton Kutcher. Peter is supposed to be a nerd, he was literally invented so that nerds would have a hero to look up to. Casting someone with model looks totally destroys that. Plus they made him so unlike able. I will however say that the girl who played Gwen Stacy in the new film was very good, probably the only good thing about the entire film to be honest.
But ASM doesn't even compare to the Raimi trilogy, Toby was a great Spiderman who suited the character both as Peter, and as Spiderman. My biggest fault in casting of the Raimi films was Kirsten Dunst, the girl they got to play Gwen in the third film would have been much more suitable as MJ than Kirsten. Raimi told the stories so well, and with a mostly great cast. To me, it's like the Raimi films represent when Marvel comics were actually good, Raimi took Spiderman back to how he should be. The ASM represents how bad Marvel's product is today.

Actually I think Raimi planned to use him, as well as The Vulture in his #4. If there's one thing that I'm sure of, it's that Raimi's 4th (and 5th) film would have been a lot better than the ASM film. I think that's a lot of the issue I have with ASM, it's made worse by the fact that instead of Spiderman 4 and 5, we got something that only pales in comparison.

I know Vulture was a shoe in but at that point Lizard would be more of the same after making Sandman and Doc Octopus sympathetic characters.Raimi overplayed that hand with characters who didn't require it.

True, but at the same time he gave the villains a reason for being evil which does add depth to the characters. It doesn't really bother me to any great extent like some of the content in ASM does. I think the thing that bothers me the most is that Peter Parker shouldn't look like a model. I also don't like the casting choice for Electro in ASM2, I'm not racist or anything but I really don't think they should cast someone that's so radically different from the source material. I don't want a Chinese Wolverine, I don't want a Caucasian Falcon. I just want the characters to look and fell as they should, which is hard when straight off the bat, the character doesn't look anything like he's supposed to.

I agree 100% with that AF.
the news that Johnny Storm may be African-American in the new FF is total crap.and before someone tries to get in my face about diversity I don't object to this with minor characters(IE Heimdall)I wouldn't want any of the following to be portrayed as white
Blade Storm Black Panther Cage Patriot Thunderball Falcon Sunfire Shaman Warpath Gateway
etc etc and that's just Marvel.

Exactly. I certainly won't be watching the new FF film. If they aren't going to take the casting seriously, I'm not going to take the film seriously.
