Series has been known about for a while, but ABC immediately ordering the first season is news. Should be interesting.

Not expecting a ton from this -- I know we won't be getting any cameos from the main Avengers, really -- but if they get a chance to toss in some of the ancillary heroes from the Marvel universe, it should be fun. Hopefully, they can capture the balance of humor/drama that was the Avengers.

It's Joss Whedon doing a spy show set in the Marvel universe. There is nothing about that sentence that doesn't excite me.
I'm also hoping the use it to introduce Marvel characters that they don't feel are big enough for movie, which seems to be the case. My personal dream is that it gives us Heroes for Hire.

I really wish they would do something like this for the GIJOE universe based off the movies. Granted they've tried just about every angle with a new cartoon only for Hasblow to nix it because they had no vision. But I mean there is alot they could do with a live action tv series with Gijoe. Espionage, military, sci-fi, csi, etc. Alot of characters that arent well known could be developed/killed off etc. Even possible cameos since alot of the movie characters arent too mainstream

See, with it being Joss Whedon, and having Coulson on the show, I wouldn't rule out some Avengers cameos (potentially in civilian clothes. RDJ was on TV at one time, on Ally McBeal; granted, he is a HUGE star now, but it's not out of the realm of possibility.
