WWF RAW - December 23. 1996 Clips are shown of what happened with Bret Hart cutting a promo saying that he wasn't going to play by anybody's rules and also announced his participation in the 1997 Royal Rumble Match, Followed up by what happened between Undertaker and Mankind as Undertaker was dead set on becoming the Intercontinental Champion and then Hunter Hearst Helmsley's new valet or amazon we are told Chyna attacked Goldust's wife Marlena. We are now told that Marlena is recovering at home but Goldust is here tonight and he will take on the WWF Champion Vader in a non-title match, and also. Another match that should be crazy, Mankind going one on one with Terry Funk and also Stone Cold Steve Austin is here to talk about the 1997 Royal Rumble Match.
Vince McMahon, Jerry Lawler and Jim Ross are your hosts for Monday Night RAW as Goldust is already in the ring with microphone in hand. Goldust then says that ever since he's come to the World Wrestling Federation. He's made people fall for his mind games, but last week. He faced his own fall. Hunter Hearst Helmsley and whatever amazon he brought to the WWF came out and attacked him and Marlena. Goldust says that Marlena is recovering at home due to the injuries she sustained, but she will be back at Saturday Night's Main Event. And speaking of Saturday Night's Main Event at the Fleet Center in Boston. MA. Goldust wants the Intercontinental Championship back from Hunter Hearst Helmsley. He is going to kick the new year off right by becoming Intercontinental Champion for the second time and then after he's heading to the 1997 Royal Rumble at the Alamodome and go to WrestleMania 13 to become WWF Champion. And speaking of the WWF Champion Vader. It's about time that Vader walks out here because this town ain't big enough for the both of us. Toy Story, 1995. Match 1: Non-Title Match Goldust vs Vader w/Jim Cornette This is the first ever one on one match between the WWF Champion Vader and Goldust, and this is a great start to kick off Monday Night RAW. Goldust obviously upset cause of what happened last week looks to channel his anger on the WWF Champion. Goldust throws right hands at Vader and tries to whip him into the ropes but Vader's power is too strong. Vader then dominates this contest and completely controls the tempo of the match for a while but Goldust makes a comeback in this match and at one point brings Vader down with a powerslam when Vader attempts a top rope move. Goldust runs off the ropes and hits a diving clothesline on the WWF Champion but it's not enough to put Vader down. Goldust then takes Vader into the buckle and tries to go for the Shattered Dreams, but wait a minute Cornette has the referee distracted and wait a minute here comes Hunter Hearst Helmsley. Helmsley has his Intercontinental Title Belt and whacks Goldust in the head with it. And that gives Vader an amount of time and hits the Vaderbomb on Goldust to get the highway robbery victory. Winner: Vader Just as Vader celebrates. Cornette grabs a microphone and says that he has it on good authority that Jesse Ventura has assigned Vader a match against Sycho Sid at Saturday Night's Main Event in a Non-Title Match to prepare for Shawn Michaels at the 1997 Royal Rumble. Cornette tells Ventura that Vader doesn't care who he wrestles at Saturday Night's Main Event, but as for Sycho Sid. He is going to teach Sycho Sid a lesson like Vader did to him at Mind Games. Sycho Sid should've learned his lesson at Mind Games, but he wants more at Saturday Night's Main Event, well Vader is going to give it to him. And Cornette promises, no he's not promising. He is guaranteeing that 1997 is going to be the year of Vader. And after he gets by Sycho Sid at Saturday Night's Main Event, then it's onto Shawn Michaels at the Royal Rumble, and then after HBK. Then he will have the Royal Rumble Winner on a silver platter at WrestleMania and Vader doesn't care if it's Stone Cold. Bret Hart or The Undertaker, nobody will stop Vader's Road to WrestleMania. Vader then takes the mic and tells Shawn Michaels that at Summerslam, he took his title. At Buried Alive, he took his pride away, and at The Royal Rumble. He is going to take everything he has from The Heartbreak Kid and The Heartbreak Kid will be simply known as the Hasbeen Kid. Dok Hendrix is standing by with the 1997 Royal Rumble. He talks about the matches that are happening, including a new match that has been signed. Owen Hart and The British Bulldog will defend the WWF Tag Team Titles against The Legion of Doom. Comments are from Hawk and Animal. Animal speaks saying that they came back to the WWF because they believe they got a lot left in the tank, they have been the WWF Tag Team Champions twice and they want to become the 3-time WWF Tag Team Champions once again, and they're going to put Owen Hart and British Bulldog down. Hawk speaks and says that Owen and Bulldog are a couple of morons that have been holding those titles for very long, Well their titles are going to be taken away, and The Legion of Doom will usher in a new era as they become WWF Tag Team Champions again, What a Rush. Then Hendrix goes over the new Royal Rumble Participants, there are 4. Goldust, Mankind, Terry Funk and Rocky Maivia. Comments are from Rocky Maivia saying that he's already been in the World Wrestling Federation for a month and now he gets the opportunity to head to the 1997 Royal Rumble. He doesn't mind being #1 or #30, But when he enters The Royal Rumble. He is going to make his dad and his grandfather and his mother proud because he's going to win the Royal Rumble and become the World Wrestling Federation Champion at WrestleMania 13. (break) Match 2: Flash Funk vs Scott Taylor This is a little decent squash match with Funk getting some momentum on Taylor but Taylor surprisingly fights back against Funk and almost gets the shocking upset by hitting a missile dropkick on Funk but Funk kicks out at 2. Funk battles back and nails Taylor with a bodyslam and follows it up with The Wild Thing to get the victory. Winner: Flash Funk (break) Jim Ross is in the ring ready to interview Stone Cold as he comes out to a very mixed reception as some fans are chanting "Austin". Austin gets in the ring and Ross gets right to it. Ross firstly announces that at Saturday Night's Main Event. Stone Cold will go one on one with Owen Hart. Owen Hart had issued the challenge to Stone Cold Steve Austin last weekend. Austin says first things first, he doesn't give a damn why Owen Hart would want to challenge Stone Cold, the fact of the matter is. His tag team partner at Christmas Chaos II failed. The only person that beat Stone Cold is Owen's brother Bret. So what makes Owen think he can challenge Stone Cold Steve Austin?. Austin then says that Owen can have his damn match at Saturday Night's Main Event, but the fact of the matter is. Stone Cold is going to beat Owen's ass. Ross then talks about Bret Hart's interview from last week. Austin then says that he doesn't give a damn if Bret breaks the rules or not. He's broken the rules ever since he came to the WWF and let Austin ask Ross a question. When Austin was in the high paying job named "Where The Big Boys Play", Stone Cold didn't break the rules. They told Austin to be a good little boy and what did they do. They left him high and dry. So he doesn't give a damn if Bret breaks the rules. But the issue with him and Bret is not over and that's the bottom line. Ross asks another question, Austin will be in the 1997 Royal Rumble Match. Austin says that last year. He was a part of the final four and this year. He wants to make history, he wants to be the first man to win the 1997 Royal Rumble Match as the #1 entrant so he can kick 29 others's ass. He doesn't give a damn if he eliminates The Undertaker, Terry Funk, Bret Hart, Ahmed Johnson, Faarooq or anyone else for that matter. The fact of the matter is, they are on all the list and that is Stone Cold's list. Austin says that after The Royal Rumble, whether it be Vader or Shawn Michaels that walks into WrestleMania at the Hoosierdome with the World Wrestling Federation Championship. Stone Cold is coming to collect and get the WWF Championship and that's the bottom line because Stone Cold said so. Austin then leaves the ring as he's got to be considered the odds on favorite. Considering what a 1996 he has had, defeating Roddy Piper, Razor Ramon and The Ultimate Warrior and winning the 1996 King of The Ring, he's looking to make 1997 an even bigger year if he wants to win the Royal Rumble. (break) Match 3: Brian Christopher w/Jerry Lawler vs The Roadie Brian Christopher has had his personal issues with Rocky Maivia, and it was at Christmas Chaos that Lawler and Christopher attacked Rocky. Roadie gets in a little bit of offense against Christopher and almost gets the win by hitting his signature pumphandle slam but Christopher counters it and hits a running DDT followed up by a leg drop off the top rope to get the victory. Winner: Brian Christopher After the Match. Lawler picks up a microphone and says that he and Christopher want to challenge Rocky Maivia and his dad Rocky Johnson to a match at Saturday Night's Main Event, so they can show The Maivias that they are losers and frauds. And Maivia and Johnson have until next week to accept Lawler and Christopher's challenge. (break) Back from Break and Mankind is making his way to the ring and it looks like he has a barbedwire board in his hand and a baseball bat wrapped in barbedwire as well. What is the meaning of this?. Mankind then picks up the microphone and says that for months on end, he and The Undertaker have gone to war. He's taken everything away from The Undertaker. He's beaten him three times, He's jammed Taker's fingers down his throat. He's let Undertaker join him in his lair called the Boiler Room at Summerslam, he's also taken away the urn and he's taken away Paul Bearer from him and he also buried him alive, but at Survivor Series. The Undertaker committed a crime when he put his hands on Paul Bearer, and not only that. He put Papa Shango out of the World Wrestling Federation. Mankind says that now he's alone and The Undertaker has left him here to pick up the pieces. Well at Saturday Night's Main Event, at the Fleet Center. He wants to destroy The Undertaker, because you look at the Barbedwire Board and the Barbedwire Baseball Bat. He's spent his time wrestling on Barbedwire. The Barbedwire is his best friend, this is all he has in life. And at Saturday Night's Main Event, he will let The Undertaker say hello to his little friend when the Barbedwire cracks his skull wide open and if Undertaker thinks that it's all he's going to take. Then think again, he is going to have a big surprise for The Undertaker, and he wants The Undertaker to take notice to what he's going to do to Terry Funk tonight.
Match 4: Terry Funk vs Mankind Mankind wastes no time going after Funk on the outside and this match has not even started. Funk begins to fight back and exchanges blows with Mankind and Funk takes Mankind's head into the steel steps. Funk is looking crazy as his usual self here tonight. Funk grabs a steel chair and remember this match is still not started. The referee tries to convince Funk and Mankind to get in the ring but Funk punches the referee in the face. And it looks like we are not really going to have a match. It seems like this match has been thrown off. Winner: Match never started
Funk is getting closer to going after Mankind with that Chair and Funk clobbers him in the back as the referee tells the ring announcer that he's thrown this match off. Funk drags Mankind into the ring and Funk enters the ring and tries to attack Mankind again but Mankind hits him with a low blow and Mankind now takes full control of this brawl. Mankind grabs the Barbedwire Bat and Funk gets up only for Mankind to strike him in the ribs with the barbedwire bat. And Funk is gotta be writhing in pain. Mankind then grabs Funk and grinds the bat like a cheese grater onto Funk's head. And Funk is bleeding profusely from that wound. The Pain has to be excracuating. Mankind then places the Barbedwire Board and places Funk back in the ring. Mankind then nails Funk with a Double Arm DDT on the Barbedwire Board and This is just painful for Funk. A painful injury for Funk here. Mankind then looks like he is getting out of the ring as his damage looks like that it is done for now. Mankind then looks under the ring and grabs a sandbag, ohhh no. It looks like Mankind's work is not being done yet. Mankind then opens the sandbag and pours out something to reveal thumbtacks what?. Thumbtacks?. Mankind grabs Funk again out of the barbedwire and kicks a helpless Terry Funk, Funk is 52 years old, damn it. He also has a family. Mankind then picks Funk up and bodyslams him onto the thumbtacks. Funk lets out a scream as all the thumbtacks are all over his body. McMahon asks officials to come to the ring and stop this. Mankind has lost control and he is just sending a message to The Undertaker before Saturday Night's Main Event. Mankind grabs the microphone again and says that this is all The Undertaker's fault. This is all because Undertaker made him do this and at Saturday Night's Main Event, just like he did to Terry Funk tonight. He is going to throw The Undertaker thru the barbedwire and onto the thumbtacks and Undertaker will be vanished from the World Wrestling Federation for good. Mankind then says that he hopes Funk has a holly, jolly Christmas. What is wrong with Mankind?. He puts a 52-year old through barbedwire and thumbtacks. What was Mankind trying to prove?. Mankind then smiles as Funk is still being checked on by officials. Mankind smiles as McMahon, Ross and Lawler announce that next week RAW will feature the best of 1996 at the WWF Headquarters. Mankind then has a sadistic smile on his face as RAW goes off the air with Funk still being checked on.

- Mankind didn't just beat the holy hell out of Terry Funk he brutalized Funk with the barbed wire and with thumbtacks. I mean Mankind obviously wanted to send a message to The Undertaker and he did. Mankind has become more evil and more dangerous than ever before especially in that ring. After what he did I think that is the last time we see Terry Funk in a WWF ring for the foreseeable future my God that was disgusting.
- The Johnsons vs The Lawlers...you have WWF legend Soul Man Rocky Johnson and his son WWF superstar Rocky Maivia teaming up to take on the father/son team of Brian Christopher and Jerry The King Lawler at Saturday Night's Main Event in a Tag Team Match...will the Johnsons accept?
- Stone Cold Steve Austin I can see him going #1 in the 1997 Royal Rumble Match imagine if he does? With Austin I don't think he will get #1 I can see him getting an early entry number like 3, 4, 5 or 6
- Goldust, Rocky Maivia, Mankind and Funk in the Royal Rumble Match I wonder who else will be in the 1997 Royal Rumble Match

The Show kicked off with a nice cruiserweight match between Chris Jericho and Dean Malenko, the match went under 13 minutes but in the end it was Jericho who fought out of a texas cloverleaf by reversing it into a Liontamer, after the match. Jericho attacked Eddie Guerrero who stood face to face with him and posed with the WCW Cruiserweight Title Belt before throwing it in Guerrero's face.
Featured a one on one Texas Death Match Promo for the final encounter between Chris Benoit and Kevin Sullivan with the loser of the match leaving WCW for good.
Big Bubba defeated Hugh Morrus. After the Match. Bubba and Norton hogtied Morrus to the chain until Konnan came down to the rescue chasing off Big Bubba and Hugh Morrus.
Featured a backstage promo with Hollywood Hogan announcing to everyone that tonight he is going to bring in a special surprise for Roddy Piper, call it a "Blast in the Past". The second hour kicked off with a 8-Man Tag Team Match with Lex Luger teaming up with The Steiner Brothers and the WCW United States Champion Diamond Dallas Page against their opponents at Starrcade. The Giant, Syxx, Kevin Nash and Scott Hall. But it was Team WCW that got the upset when Giant went to hit DDP with a kick but DDP ducked and Giant got Nash instead allowing DDP to surprise Nash with the Diamond Cutter to get the victory. Rey Mysterio defeated Atsushi Onita in another Good Cruiserweight Battle. After The Match. Prince Iaukea came out to attack Mysterio until Dean Malenko came down to help Mysterio and aided Mysterio against Iaukea and Onita. JJ Dillon announced that at Starrcade, all four men would wrestle in a Fatal-Four Way Match to determine who would be the next #1 Contender for the WCW Cruiserweight Championship. Featured a backstage interview with The French Canadian Males saying that they haven't been at Starrcade and they needed to issue an open challenge. Hacksaw "Jim Duggan" came down alongside Finlay and accepted The Canadian Males's challenge and that it would be at the pre-show. Meng and Barbarian defeated Jeff Jarrett and Arn Anderson in a Tag Team Match after there was a miscommunication between Jarrett & Anderson. After the Match. Jarrett & Anderson argued until Ric Flair came out and held the two back but Jarrett shoved down Ric Flair and then Flair grabbed a microphone and said that if Jarrett wants to be Horsemen Material, then he can prove it by taking on Ric Flair in a match at Starrcade, and that if Jarrett won. Jarrett can join The Horsemen, but if Jarrett didn't win. Then he is out of the Horsemen. Featured the surprise from Hollywood Hogan to Roddy Piper, Hogan told the fans that all the people would be shocked and surprised to what he had for Piper. Hogan announced that he had brought someone in Roddy Piper's past. Hogan and Piper were both in the ring with him at the same time, it was March 31. 1985 at Madison Square Garden in New York City, and He was going to bring that man out right now, suddenly. The NWO music played again as Mr. T came out wearing the NWO Shirt. Hogan stated that Mr. T was here to send a message to Piper. Mr. T stated that for 20 years Hogan was a part of the Wrestling Business, not Roddy Piper. And Hogan is still the best in the business. And that is why he is proud to call Hogan his friend and at Starrcade. He is going to be in Hollywood's corner to watch him beat the hell out of Piper for good and send Piper out of the Wrestling Company for good. Piper then came out and said that he didn't expect this from Hogan. He knew that Hogan was going to bring in Mr. T. Piper said that this is starting to look like WrestleMania 1 all over again. Piper said that 2 on 1, 3 on 1, 4 on 1, 10 on 1. He didn't care. He would beat Hogan's ass at Starrcade and would still continue to settle the score. Piper then rushed the ring and stood face to face with Hogan and told Hogan that he better be taking his vitamins and saying his prayers, because in Six Days. It will not be Hulkamania running wild, nor NWOMania, nor WrestleMania, it will be PiperMania running wild all over Hogan. Nitro ended with Sting coming down to the ring and going face to face with Piper and Hogan and also Mr. T. It turned out to be a combustable situation as Nitro went off the air.

They all agree that Hogan is going to get his, The commentators announce that this matchup will be No Disqualifactions and No Countouts between Piper and Hogan and that there are rumours that Sting has been spotted in Nashville, so he may show up here tonight.
Match 1: WCW Cruiserweight Championship Match Chris Jericho vs Eddie Guerrero What a way to kick off this Starrcade with an epic WCW Cruiserweight Championship Match between Chris Jericho and Eddie Guerrero. Jericho has been having a mean streak in the last few weeks after turning on his former partner Lance Storm. Jericho and Guerrero start the match off by locking up with Jericho getting the advantage over Guerrero. Jericho whips Guerrero into the ropes and Jericho hits a shoulder block. Guerrero then gets the advantage with a leapfrog and follows it up with an armdrag takeover. Jericho then rakes the eyes and punches away at Guerrero and whips him into the ropes but Guerrero reverses it and hits a monkey flip takedown on Jericho and Jericho rolls out of the ring. Guerrero then hits a somersault dive onto Jericho. Guerrero tosses Jericho in the ring and throws punches at Jericho and Jericho is rocked in the buckle. Guerrero whips Jericho into the buckle again but Jericho counters it with an elbow and Jericho climbs to the top rope to go for a high flying move but Guerrero counters it into a dropkick. Guerrero gets the advantage but Jericho fights back by knocking Guerrero off the apron with a springboard dropkick. Jericho tosses Guerrero back in the ring in where he makes fun of his heritage by impersonating him. Jericho continues to berate Guerrero while he continues to attack him. Eddie tries to fight back but Jericho counters it with a tilt-a whirl backbreaker. Jericho goes for the cover but Eddie kicks out at 2. Eddie tries to fight back but Jericho hits a tiger gutwrench bomb and goes for the cover again but Eddie kicks out again at 2. Eddie tries to battle back and goes for a german suplex but Jericho counters and goes for a German of his own and Eddie elbows him off and Eddie runs off the ropes only to receive a big clothesline by Jericho. Jericho goes for the cover but Eddie kicks out at 2. Jericho throws Eddie into the buckle and chops away at him and throws him into the turnbuckle and goes for a hurracarana but Eddie fights him off and throws a right hand on Jericho and Jericho is falling down on the turnbuckle and Eddie jumps off and hits both knees on Jericho's head and that had to hurt Jericho. Jericho and Eddie are both down. Both men get back to their feet and exchange blows with one another with Eddie mounting a comeback. Eddie whips Jericho into the ropes and hits a spinning heel kick. Eddie then chops away at Jericho and hits a back suplex. Eddie goes for a cover but Jericho kicks out at 2. Eddie whips Jericho off the ropes but Jericho knees him in the head and goes for a bodyslam but Eddie counters it and hits a running hurracarana on Jericho. Eddie goes for the cover again but Jericho kicks out at 2. Jericho fights back and hits a bulldog on Guerrero and then runs off the ropes to go for a lionsault but Guerrero gets the knees up and Guerrero then heads to the top rope and nails a missile dropkick on Jericho. And what a back and forth matchup this has been between these two. Jericho and Guerrero continue to fight on for five minutes and Guerrero almost gets the win by hitting a brainbuster and goes for a frog splash and he hits it. Guerrero goes for the cover again but Jericho surprisingly grabs the ropes, and Eddie Guerrero can't believe it. Guerrero kicks Jericho in the gut and goes for a powerbomb but Jericho counters and hits a powerbomb of his own and then places Guerrero on his back so he can hit the liontamer on Guerrero and Guerrero has got nowhere to go, Will Guerrero submit here?. Guerrero tries to fight out of it and tries pulling the ropes but Jericho continues to lock it in and Guerrero is forced to tap out and we have a new WCW Cruiserweight Champion in this magnificent match. Chris Jericho has captured his first WCW Singles Title. Winner and New WCW Cruiserweight Champion: Chris Jericho
After The Match. Jericho celebrates with the Cruiserweight Championship and then mocks Eddie Guerrero again. Mean "Gene" Okerlund then waits for him on the entrance ramp and Jericho continues to smile. Okerlund tells Jericho that this must be the happiest day of his life. Jericho says that it is, he finally made sure that mexican peasant Eddie Guerrero would lose the WCW Cruiserweight Title, he got rid of his former buddy Lance Storm and now he's finally the WCW Cruiserweight Champion of the world. And he sends a message to all the challengers that wanna face him for that championship. Line them up and he's going to knock them down and they will never ever be the same again. Jericho poses with the Cruiserweight Title like he just won the world cup. But what a match to kick off Starrcade.
A clip is shown of Rowdy "Roddy" Piper arriving at the arena, this is his first WCW Match here tonight as he takes on the WCW Champion Hulk Hogan in the War to Settle The Score. This is not about the WCW Championship tonight, this is going to be the war to settle the score.
Match 2: WCW United States Championship Match Syxx vs Diamond Dallas Page The NWO look to kick off Starrcade with a big bang as Syxx challenges Diamond Dallas Page for the WCW United States Title. Syxx does everything he can to get inside DDP's head. Page tries to hit Syxx with a right hand but Syxx ducks and throws hard right hands on DDP and begins to kick away at him. But Page throws him down and nails him with a hard right hand taking Syxx down. Syxx then rolls out of the ring and Page is right on his tail. Syxx tries running away but Diamond tosses him in the ring and begins to beat on Syxx and whips him into the ropes and nails a high back body drop on Syxx. DDP's been gaining a lot of momentum since he won the World War III Battle Royal last month. DDP continues to dominate Syxx in the first four minutes of the match but Syxx battles back by nailing Page with a spinning heel kick on the outside of the ring. Syxx tosses him back in the ring and continues to beat on Page and goes for the ankles of Page. Syxx heads to the top rope and almost gets the win by hitting a missile dropkick off the top rope but Page kicks out. Page tries to fight back but Syxx chops down the legs of Page and It seems as if Syxx is closer to winning the United States Championship here. Syxx heads to the top rope and goes for a cross body but DDP catches him with a powerslam and Page makes a comeback in this match nailing Syxx with a right hand and knocking him down with a discus clothesline. Page captures the momentum again and hits a spinebuster on Syxx. Page goes for the cover but Syxx kicks out. Page whips Syxx into the buckle and goes for a clothesline in the corner but Syxx kicks him in the face and heads to the top rope only to receive a punch to the gut and nails him with an atomic drop followed up by a running clothesline. Page goes for the cover but Syxx kicks out at 2 again. Page grabs Syxx and tries to go for a powerbomb but Syxx counters it into a nice hurracarana on Page and goes for the cover again but Page kicks out. Page gets up only for Syxx to nail another heel kick on Page. Syxx then heads to the top rope again and hits a diving leg drop on the Champion. Syxx goes for the cover again but Page kicks out at 2. Syxx then gets Page up and whips him into the ropes and goes for a clothesline but Page kicks Syxx in the gut and nails him with a powerbomb and Page signals for the Diamond Cutter and this could be it here, but wait a minute here comes Vincent & Marcus Bagwell. Marcus Bagwell begins to distract the referee and that distraction allows Vincent to come in and attack DDP. Vincent whips DDP into the ropes and goes for a clothesline but DDP nails him with the Diamond Cutter and wait a minute Hollywood Hogan just came through the crowd, the referee is still distracted by Marcus Bagwell and Hogan has the WCW Title Belt and he hits Page in the back of the skull with it and Hogan places Syxx untop of Page and the referee is un-distracted so he can count the pinfall. Syxx covers Page and pins him for the three count, and what a travesty. The NWO have stolen the WCW United States Title, they have taken the WCW United States Championship. The rest of the NWO come out to celebrate with Syxx as the commentators begin to scream that the NWO is taking the rest of the WCW Championships away from WCW. Winner and New WCW United States Champion: Syxx
Backstage, Mean "Gene" Okerlund interviews Konnan and Hugh Morrus alongside Jimmy Hart. Morrus says that what just happened was a travesty for the WCW and now Big Bubba and Scott Norton are going to have to pay dearly, Big Bubba betrayed the Dungeon of Doom and sold his soul to the New World Order. And now it's time to pay up. Konnan speaks up and says that The Dungeon of Doom are all about family and tonight, they are going to wrap this chain around Big Bubba's neck so that Big Bubba cannot breathe.
Match 3: Tornado Tag Team Chain Match Big Bubba and Scott Norton vs Konnan and Hugh Morrus w/Jimmy Hart Just before the match begins. Big Bubba and Scott Norton come from behind Konnan and Hugh Morrus just right before their entrance and attack Konnan and Morrus and look at this. Norton and Bubba are whipping Konnan with each sets of chains and they whip him straight into the barricade, so it looks like Morrus might be on his own. They toss Morrus in the ring in where Morrus tries to hold his own with that chain and he does so and takes down Bubba but Norton surprises Morrus and Norton and Bubba begin to whip Morrus with the chain and whip Morrus into the ropes but Morrus hits a double clothesline on both men. Morrus is continuing to hold his own and whips Norton into the ropes and nails a big boot and hits Bubba with a back elbow. Morrus grabs his chain and smacks Norton in the face with it and throws Bubba over the top rope to the floor. Morrus heads to the top rope and hits a diving shoulder block on Norton and goes for the cover but Norton kicks out at 2. It looks like Morrus is going at this match alone. Konnan is still down on the outside and is barely trying to get back in the ring. Bubba and Norton fight back against Morrus somehow, but Morrus fights back again and nails Norton and Bubba with a double DDT and Konnan enters the ring and Konnan looks to be aiding his partner, but look at this Konnan grabs Morrus and kicks him low. What?. Konnan just turned on his tag team partner and it looks like he's just joined the NWO as Bubba and Norton smile and Konnan is smiling back with them. Konnan begins to whip Morrus a few times with the chain and Bubba and Norton hold Morrus up so Konnan can smack him a few times with the chain. Konnan begins to slap him and it looks as if Konnan has officially joined the NWO. Bubba whips Morrus into the ropes and hits the BubbaSlam to get the victory as Konnan is laughing and Jimmy Hart doesn't know what to do. The NWO have taken another Dungeon of Doom Member. Konnan, Bubba and Norton raise their hands in victory. Winners: Big Bubba and Scott Norton
A video clip is shown of Lex Luger's win last year over Hulk Hogan at Starrcade 1995 to win the WCW World Heavyweight Title, and Luger dominating the half of the spring and summer of 1996 as WCW Champion until Scott Hall and Kevin Nash made their WCW Debuts and declaring war followed up by Hulk Hogan joining them and Luger dropping the WCW Title to Hogan at Road Wild, followed up by Luger not trusting Sting and Sting walking out on Luger at Fall Brawl followed up with Luger trying to find Sting, but then Luger realizing Sting is not only playing with the NWO, but with WCW. But tonight, Luger could take another championship home at Starrcade 1996 and start off 1997 with the WCW Television Title.
Match 4: WCW Television Championship Match Lex Luger vs The Giant What a roller coaster Lex Luger has had, last year. He ended 1995 by winning the WCW World Heavyweight Title, but can he end 1996 with the WCW Television Championship?. Luger and Giant go face to face with Giant shoving Luger and Luger begins to throw right hands at The Giant. Luger is so intense right now. Luger kicks Giant in the gut and goes for a bodyslam but The Giant falls untop of Luger reminscent to what happened at WrestleMania III between Hulk Hogan and Andre The Giant. Giant goes for the cover but Luger kicks out at 2. Giant begins to pummel away at Luger and chops away at him, so far the NWO have gotten a 2-0 victory at Starrcade, can they make it 3-0 here tonight?. Luger fights back and rocks The Giant with some punches and tries for a bodyslam but Giant chops him in the back and bodyslams Luger to the mat. Giant runs off the ropes and goes for an elbow but Luger avoids it and Luger heads to the top rope and hits a double axe handle and takes down The Giant. Luger goes for the cover and The Giant kicks out at 2. The Giant fights back and tosses Luger out of the ring by press slamming him over the top rope. What strength by The Giant. The Giant tosses Luger back in the ring and whips him into the ropes and goes for a big boot but Luger counters the boot and hits a running clothesline knocking The Giant off his feet. Only one clothesline can't take The Giant down, but Luger just delivered one big clothesline taking the Champion off his feet. Luger scoops The Giant up and unbelievable strength, Luger bodyslams The Giant. Luger did it. Luger did it. Luger goes for the cover again but The Giant kicks out at 2. Luger punches away at The Giant and whips him into the ropes but The Giant reverses it and nails him with a big boot and Luger goes down. Giant then grabs Luger and sets him up for the chokeslam but look at this Luger gets out of the Chokeslam and runs off the ropes and nails a running forearm taking down The Giant. And look at this here come the NWO again. And this time similar to the United States Title Match. But this time Ted Dibiase and Vincent are distracting the referee again and that allows Syxx to enter the ring with his WCW United States Title Belt. Syxx throws it at The Giant and The Giant tries to nail Luger with the WCW United States Title belt, but ducks and accidentally hits Vincent with it knocking him off the apron. Luger then runs off the ropes and hits another running forearm again. Luger then grabs The Giant and he picks him up for the Torture Rack. Unbelievable!. LUGER HAS THE TORTURE RACK LOCKED IN ON THE GIANT!. Will The Giant tap here. And Luger racks it in and The Giant has no choice but to tap out and we have a new WCW Television Champion. Luger has captured the WCW Television Championship. It looks like WCW is fighting back, the NWO may have taken the United States Title tonight, but WCW seems to have taken the Television Championship away from The Giant. Luger has a smile on his face as he walks out of Starrcade with The Television Title Belt and look at this The Giant is leaving the ring waving off to the rest of the NWO. Ohhh no, it looks like there is dissention in the ranks between the NWO now. Winner and New WCW Television Champion: Lex Luger
A clip is shown of Souled Out for January 26, 1997 in where the main event will feature Hollywood Hogan defending his WCW Championship against Diamond Dallas Page.
In the Arena. Mr, T enters the arena with his NWO T-Shirt on, it's been reported that Mr. T is here to join Hogan in his fight against Rowdy Roddy Piper.
Backstage, Mean Gene Okerlund interviews Jeff Jarrett about his match with Ric Flair. Jarrett speaks saying that tonight The Nature Boy is going to have no problems inducting him into the Horsemen if Jarrett wins this match, Jarrett says that if he loses the match. At Least, he got to join the greatest group in sports entertainment history and he doesn't want to join the NWO because the NWO are scumbags and if his win over Ric Flair means something, then he's going to be the greatest wrestler of all time if he beats Ric Flair.
Match 5: In or Out Match Jeff Jarrett vs Ric Flair The future of the Horsemen rides on this match, if Jarrett wins. He's a part of the Horsemen, but if not. Jarrett will not be joining The Horsemen. Jarrett and Flair lock up center in the ring with Jarrett grabbing a side headlock on Flair. Jarrett whips Flair into the ropes and Flair hits a shoulder tackle on Jarrett. Jarrett then does a leapfrog and goes for a hip toss but Flair counters with a hip toss of his own and Flair does a "WOOO" to Jarrett. Jarrett then slaps Flair in the face and that makes Flair angry and Flair slaps back on Jarrett. Flair whips Jarrett into the buckle and chops away at Jarrett and whips him into the buckle but look at the agility of Jarrett doing a handstand on the top rope and Flair doesn't realize that Jarrett avoided him. Jarrett then hits Flair with a dropkick knocking him down. Jarrett goes for the cover but Flair kicks out at 2. Jarrett then throws Flair into the buckle and chops away at him and goes for a move but Flair kicks him in the face and bodyslams him to the mat and drops a knee on Jarrett. Flair goes for the cover but Jarrett kicks out at 2. Flair and Jarrett continue to wrestle on a good match and this time it's Jarrett taking the momentum by going for the back of the Nature Boy. Jarrett goes to the top rope and hits a cross body on Flair and goes for the cover but Flair kicks out at 2. Jarrett then locks in a sleeper hold on Flair and Flair's in trouble here. Flair gets to his feet and nails Jarrett with a back suplex. Flair and Jarrett exchange right hands with one another after getting back to their feet. Flair whips Jarrett into the ropes and nails him with a back elbow. Flair continues to regain the momentum and it looks like he could be setting up for that Figure-Four Leg Lock. Flair takes down Jarrett and tries for the figure-four but Jarrett kicks him off and takes Flair down and look at this Jarrett has the figure-four locked in as well and this has gotta be insulting. Jarrett is using the figure-four leg lock on Flair. Flair then tries to get to the ropes but Jarrett is applying that pressure on The Nature Boy. Flair then grabs Jarrett and rolls him up breaking the figure-four leg lock but Jarrett kicks out at 2. Jarrett kicks Flair in the gut and bodyslams him to the mat and Jarrett heads to the top rope and hits a kneedrop off the top. Jarrett goes for the cover but Flair kicks out at 2. Jarrett then continues to go for the legs of Flair and tries another figure-four but Flair kicks him off and makes a comeback by chopping away at him and whips him into the ropes nailing a big clothesline on Jarrett. Flair then grabs Jarrett by the leg and hits a manhattan drop on the leg and now Flair is looking to get the figure-four leg lock and he has it greatly applied on Jarrett. Jarrett's in big trouble, can he tap out here?. Flair has the hold locked in until Jarrett gets into the ropes again. And what an intense match between Flair and Jarrett. Flair then grabs Jarrett and chops away at him and whips him into the ropes and goes for a back body drop but look at this Jarrett counters the back body drop into a diving DDT on Flair, unbelievable move by Double J. Jarrett covers Flair again and goes for the cover but Flair kicks out at 2. And what must it take to keep Flair down. Flair gets to his feet only for Jarrett to nail another diving DDT on Flair and Jarrett covers Flair to get the win and Jarrett has joined the New Horsemen. Winner: Jeff Jarrett
After the Match. Jarrett grabs Flair and shakes his hand telling him that it was a good match. Flair nods at Jarrett and tells him the same thing and tells Jarrett that he belongs in the Four Horsemen and that he was wrong about him. With Jeff Jarrett now in the Horsemen, it looks like The Horsemen may be a little unstoppable, but the NWO could be even more stronger than The Horsemen.
Mean "Gene" Okerlund interviews The Steiner Brothers about the WCW Tag Team Title Match against The Outsiders. Scott says that for far too long The Outsiders have been running with the WCW Tag Team Title Belts and they've been pretty much running the ship around WCW. But tonight it's about time the WCW Tag Team Titles comes back from WCW. WCW has taken the Television Championship tonight from the NWO and now it's The Steiner's time to win the WCW Tag Team Titles. Rick says that tonight they are going to make sure that Nash and Hall eat milkbone underwear because The Steiners are hungry for the WCW Tag Team Titles.
Match 6: WCW Tag Team Championship Match The Steiners vs Kevin Nash and Scott Hall w/Ted Dibiase This should be an interesting WCW Tag Team Championship Match, The NWO have lost already one title, can they lose another here tonight, but on the plus side they could make it a clean sweep. The Steiners gain the momentum with Scott going to work on Nash. Scott then makes the tag to Rick and Rick and Scott run off the ropes and hit a diving shoulder block taking Nash down to the mat. The Steiners continue to gain momentum until a low bridge by Nash causes The Outsiders to take the momentum back in their favor. As Rick returns to the ring. Nash gives him a boot to the face and Nash tags in Hall. Nash and Hall whip Rick into the ropes and hit a double clothesline. The Outsiders continue to take the momentum back in their favor and even wear down Rick. But Rick is able to get in a few t-bone suplexes on Nash and Hall before making the hot tag to Scott who comes in a house of fire and delivers a few belly to belly suplexes on Nash and Hall and drops both Nash and Hall with clotheslines. Scott goes to cover Hall but Nash breaks up the count. Nash and Hall fight back and Nash tries to hit a big boot on Steiner but Steiner reverses the boot and hits a DDT on Nash. Steiner then grabs Nash and look at this he has a camel clutch hold locked in but wait a minute Ted Dibiase is distracting the referee again and that seems to be the third time that the NWO have distracted the ref in matches tonight. And that allows Hall to enter the ring with one half of the WCW Tag Team Titles Belt. Hall tries to hit Scott with it but Scott ducks and nails Hall with the belt and the referee sees it and that's a Disqualifaction Win for The Outsiders who have retained the WCW Tag Team Titles. Steiner begins to beat up on Hall until Nash gets to his feet and aids Hall against Scott. Rick gets back up with a chair in hand and clocks Hall in the back with it and chases Nash with it and Rick goes in to check on his brother, and it looks like the rivalry between The Steiner Brothers and The Outsiders is pretty much far from over. The Steiners want the WCW Tag Team Titles soon, but just not tonight. Winners and Still WCW Tag Team Champions: The Outsiders
A clip is shown of the rivalry between Chris Benoit and Kevin Sullivan, it has been brewing since the Summer of 1996 when Chris Benoit was allegedly having an affair with Woman who is Kevin Sullivan's wife. But tonight the feud will culminate as Benoit and Sullivan face off one more time in the Texas Death Match.
Match 7: Texas Death Match Chris Benoit vs Kevin Sullivan The Horsemen and The Dungeon of Doom have agreed not to interefere in this matchup as they know this rivalry between Chris Benoit and Kevin Sullivan has been personal. Remember in order to win this match, you have to pin your opponent and if they can't answer in the next 10 seconds, then he is the winner. Benoit wastes no time going after Sullivan at the start of the match and Benoit and Sullivan are exchanging blows in the entryway, this has been personal between these two and Benoit takes Sullivan's head into the steel steps. Sullivan fights back and checks under the ring for weapons and Sullivan's got a trashcan and he hits Benoit in the face with it and Sullivan takes Benoit to the ring in where Sullivan punches away at Benoit and Sullivan takes the momentum in his favor. Benoit battles back in the match and chops away at Sullivan and whips him into the ropes and hits a high back body drop and Benoit grabs Sullivan by his hair and punches away at him and Benoit is just tenacious in this match. Sullivan somehow battles back and hits a piledriver on Benoit. Sullivan goes for the cover but Benoit kicks out at 2. How did Benoit kick out of that piledriver. Sullivan then chokes away at Benoit in the corner and Sullivan takes out a kendo stick and clobbers Benoit in the back with it in the corner and that had to have hurt Benoit's ribs. Benoit tries to fight back and runs off the ropes only to meet a backbreaker by Sullivan. Sullivan goes for the cover again but Benoit kicks out at 2. Benoit fights back and hits Sullivan with a clothesline and Benoit grabs the trashcan Sullivan used earlier and Benoit hits him in the face with it. Benoit then gets out of the ring and grabs some numchucks and Benoit tries to use them on Sullivan while he enters the ring but Sullivan ducks and hits a high knee on Benoit. Sullivan kicks Benoit in the gut and goes for another piledriver but Benoit takes Sullivan down and now is going for the sharpshooter. Remember, Benoit can also win this match by submission as well. Sullivan then rakes the eyes of Benoit and surprises Benoit with a low blow, and both men have gotta be spent now. Sullivan then grabs something again from under the ring and look at this, it's handcuffs. The same Handcuffs Sullivan used at Halloween Havoc when Sullivan and The Dungeon of Doom all attacked Benoit in the Cage. Sullivan tries to put them on Benoit again but Benoit breaks loose and look at this, he's got the handcuffs. Benoit then puts the cuffs on Sullivan and tosses him over the top rope to the floor but Sullivan is hanging on the cuffs. Benoit then grabs the kendo stick and hits Sullivan a few times with it and Benoit is giving Sullivan justice here at Starrcade tonight similar to what Sullivan did at Halloween Havoc and Sullivan gets knocked over the top rope but not only that, the cuffs broke loose out of Sullivan's Hands and Sullivan tries to get away but Benoit is right on his tail and Benoit tosses him square into the steel steps. The match still continues but this time it's Sullivan that gains the advantage and hits a DDT on Benoit right onto a steel chair and that busted Benoit wide open. Sullivan goes for the cover again but Benoit kicks out at 2. Benoit and Sullivan continue to fight on for a good 5 minutes. Sullivan kicks Benoit in the gut and tries another DDT, But Benoit nails three German Suplexes on Sullivan and Benoit heads to the top rope and wait a minute, Benoit gets off the top rope and Benoit looks under the ring and Benoit grabs a table from under the ring. Benoit then gets Sullivan to his feet and places him to the table and Benoit heads to the top rope and hits a diving headbutt onto the table of Sullivan. Benoit then covers Sullivan and gets the 3 count, but now he's gotta wait for Sullivan to get to his feet and for the next ten seconds Sullivan never responds and that allows Benoit to win the match. Benoit has finally put an end to Kevin Sullivan. This match was as brutal as it gets. But Benoit has finally put an end to Kevin Sullivan for good. Winner: Chris Benoit
A video clip is shown of the rivalry between Roddy Piper and Hollywood Hogan, it started with Hogan heading to WCW in 1994 and turning on WCW to join Nash and Hall in the Summer of 1996, and Piper making his surprise debut at WCW Halloween Havoc, and Piper calling Hogan out for a match at Starrcade for a war to settle the score. This match is called "The Match of The Decade". Or it could be Match of the Century.
Michael Buffer is in the ring announcing the match being possibly called the Match of The Century. Buffer asks the fans if they are ready for this match?. And does his infamous "Let's Get Ready To Rumble" spiel. Then the NWO music plays one more time with Hollywood Hogan coming to the ring with Vincent, Miss Elizabeth, Ted Dibiase and Eric Bischoff as Buffer introduces him, and not only is Bischoff, Dibiase, Miss Elizabeth and Vincent with him, but Mr. T is in the corner of Hogan as well. Hogan and Piper have wrestled in the WWF before since their debuts in the WWF in 1984 and they wrestled in the first WrestleMania, but never such a magnitude of this match has been most-talked about in the great sport of WCW. Piper's music then plays in the arena as he comes out and this is Piper's first ever WCW Match. And you gotta wonder if there's butterflies in the Hot Scot. And remember this matchup is No Disqualifactions and No Countouts in this match. And also this is not about the WCW World Heavyweight Title, this is to see who is the best.
Match 8: Non-Title No Disqualifaction, No Countout Match Hollywood Hogan vs Roddy Piper Just as soon as the bell rings, Hogan begins to walk out and talks to the fans, Miss Elizabeth, Vincent, Ted Dibiase and Eric Bischoff have all left, but only Mr. T is there in Hogan's corner. Piper hammers away at Hogan with right hands and remember this match is no disqualifactions and no countouts. Hogan rakes the eyes and tries to toss Piper into the steel steps but Piper reverses it and throws Hogan into the steel steps. Piper re-enters the ring and Mr. T checks on Hogan and Mr. T gets Hogan up and Hogan gets back in the ring and Hogan immediately enters the ring and nails Piper with a clothesline that shook Piper down to the canvas and Hogan hammers away at Piper and throws his head into the buckle and Hogan whips Piper into the buckle again and goes for a clothesline but Piper ducks and nails a few right hands on Hogan and pokes him in the eye and Piper hits another right hand and whips him into the ropes and nails a big clothesline and Hogan gets up only for Piper to hit him with a dropkick. Hogan then whips Piper into the ropes and goes for a clothesline but Piper counters with a clothesline of his own and kicks him in the face and sends him out of the ring with a dropkick and Piper drags Hogan and rams him into the barricade and wait a minute here comes Mr. T, Mr. T stares down Piper and Piper continues to beat on Hogan and Piper grabs his leather belt and whips Hogan with it, and that's Piper's leather belt from his kilt, remember this match is all legal and Piper continues to wear Hogan down with that belt, it's a little bit of what Hogan does to his opponents and Piper scoops Hogan up and bodyslams him to the mat and Piper runs off the ropes and goes for an elbow drop but Hogan rolls out of the way and Hogan hits a right hand and whips Piper into the ropes and finally connects with a clothesline. Hogan then tosses Piper over the top rope and throws him into the steel steps and even into the barricade. Hogan then knocks Piper with a right hand to the front row and Piper and Hogan exchange blows on the front row and Hogan tosses Piper back outside and tosses him back in the ring. Hogan kicks Piper in Piper's hip and Hogan grabs Piper and hits an abdominal stretch on Piper. Piper had the upper hand there. And Piper somehow breaks out of the Abdominal Stretch and nails a double sledge on Hogan and Piper takes down Hogan and throws right hands at Hogan and begins to pull some of Hogan's hair out. Piper then goes for a suplex on Hogan but Hogan counters and hits a suplex of his own and Hogan goes for the cover but Piper kicks out at 2. Hogan whips Piper into the ropes and hits a big boot to the face and follows it up with his signature leg drop and that's gotta be it. Hogan goes for the cover but wait a minute Mr. T pulls Hogan off of Piper, What?. Hogan looks on in shock and yells at Mr. T And Mr. T shoves Hogan and Hogan shoves him back and Hogan tries to hit a right hand but Mr. T nails the WCW Champion with a right hand. Mr. T just took out his buddy. Mr. T just took out his buddy and The Giant grabs Mr. T and Hogan gets to his feet and Hogan holds Mr. T up and The Giant runs off the ropes for a kick to the face but Mr. T ducks and The Giant accidentally hits the WCW Champion. Mr. T and Piper get to their feet and double clothesline The Giant over the top rope to the floor. Mr. T leaves the ring and that allows Piper to drop a sleeper hold on Hogan and Hogan goes down and the referee checks Hogan's arms and Hogan is passing out, Anderson raises Hogan's arms not once, not twice but three times and the ref calls for the bell and Piper has won this match. Piper has upset the WCW Champion. Piper has won. Piper has done it!. What a victory for Rowdy Roddy Piper, he has defeated Hulk Hogan for WCW. Winner: Rowdy Roddy Piper
Mr. T gets in the ring and look at the history Piper and Mr. T has had and they shake hands and raise hands, but wait a minute here come Kevin Nash and Scott Hall and the rest of the NWO. They swarm the rest of the ring, But The Giant begins to leave the ring. The NWO go right for Mr. T and Piper, it looks like bad news for Mr. T and Piper, but why isn't The Giant helping out?. Then suddenly, The Lights go out in the arena and all of a sudden, the lights come back on to reveal Sting in his Black & White Facepaint. Hogan stares down Sting, the rest of the NWO take a step back and Sting has his baseball bat in hand, the baseball bat he used. And look at this, Sting is nailing the rest of the NWO with the Baseball Bat. Sting is cleaning house and The Giant is just standing there not doing nothing, it seems as if Sting is not going to be on the NWO's Side. Sting grabs Vincent and hits him with the Scorpion Deathdrop. DDP has fired the first shot before the 1997 Souled Out PPV. This is Chaos and Pandemonium, Sting then gets out of the ring and walks back to the crowd and stares down the rest of the NWO pointing at them with his baseball bat while Piper, Mr. T, DDP and his son celebrate in the ring and look at this, here come the rest of the WCW Superstars. They are also here to celebrate with Rowdy Roddy Piper, it looks like things in the NWO have begun to deteriate, Piper may have beaten Hogan and Sting may not be in the NWO's price tag, and it looks like the war between WCW and NWO is not over yet, this is just the beginning. WCW has fought back here tonight. Starrcade goes off the air with Piper celebrating.

WWF RAW - December 30. 1996 - Titan Studios
There was No Monday Night RAW as Vince McMahon and commissioner Jesse Ventura were your hosts for the look back in 1996.
The First clip was shown of Shawn Michaels's return from injury in 1995 and winning the 1996 Royal Rumble followed up by winning the WWF Championship at WrestleMania 12 and holding onto the WWF Title for 5 months until dropping the title at Summerslam to Vader. Comments were from Shawn Michaels saying that his 1996 was an up & down year for him. But he's going to kick 1997 off with a bang by becoming WWF Champion at the Royal Rumble and he hopes Bret Hart wins the Rumble, so there will be a rematch between the two down the line at WrestleMania 13.
The next clip featured the rise of Stone Cold Steve Austin joining Ted Dibiase's Million Dollar Corporation and breaking out from the Corporation and winning the 1996 King of The Ring and challenging Bret Hart, then Austin made his comments saying that he said what he set out to do in 1996, and that was win The King of The Ring and prove to the world that Bret Hart was a coward, Bret got one over on Austin at the Survivor Series, but at the 1997 Royal Rumble, he's looking to kick 1997 off anew by winning the 30-Man Royal Rumble and throw 29 pieces of trash over the top rope and that was the bottom line cause Stone Cold said so.
Then comments were made by Rocky Maivia and his father Rocky Johnson saying that they accepted Jerry Lawler and Brian Christopher's challenge for Saturday Night's Main Event.
Then more clips were shown again, but this time the debuts of new superstars, Marc Mero, Rocky Maivia, Mark Henry, Faarooq and a whole handful of others.
Then also featured a Royal Rumble Report in where 6 more participants were added to the match. Faarooq, Marc Mero, Ahmed Johnson, British Bulldog, Owen Hart and Jake Roberts with comments from Ahmed Johnson.
Also more clips were shown of the rivalry between Mankind and Undertaker, the night after WrestleMania 12. Mankind made his debut to attack The Undertaker and the rivalry continued throughout the spring, summer and fall. But the rivalry will come to an end in the second Last Man Standing Match between the two with McMahon and Ventura announcing that The Undertaker will talk later tonight about his match with Mankind.
Then clips again was shown of Vader's dominance defeating The Undertaker at Beware of Dog and capturing his second WWF Championship over Shawn Michaels at Summerslam 1996. And his total championship defenses against Shawn Michaels, Sycho Sid and Bret "The Hitman" Hart.
And the last clip featured Bret Hart's downward spiral from the Spring of 1996 until his return from the Fall of 1996 to challenge Stone Cold Steve Austin to a match at Survivor Series, and Bret's downward spiral continuing with Bret losing his chance at the WWF Championship to Vader at Season's Beatings II.
RAW closed out with The Undertaker in a dark area saying that 1996 was a terrible experience he ever dealt with. First, he dealt with a deranged psycho Mankind and Paul Bearer betrayed him and not only that, they buried him alive, but now Undertaker had gotten rid of the ghosts in Paul Bearer and Papa Shango, and now at Saturday Night's Main Event, the first of the new year. Mankind better enjoy the first three days of the New Year, because Mankind will not be getting up, and yes. Undertaker saw what Mankind did to Terry Funk. It was a crime for what Mankind did to Terry Funk. But at Saturday Night's Main Event. What will happen to Mankind will not be a crime, but a mass domination. After he beats Mankind, then it's onto the 1997 Royal Rumble and whoever the Champion is at WrestleMania 13, they will Rest In Peace!.

Big Bubba defeated Hardbody Harrison with a sidewalk slam.
The Steiner Brothers defeated The French Canadian Males in a Tag Team Match.
Jeff Jarrett and Ric Flair defeated Prince Iaukea and Psicosis in a Tag Team Match, after the match. Jarrett announced that he and Ric Flair would be going for the WCW Tag Team Titles against Nash and Hall. Jarrett said that he would make Flair a Tag Team Champion again. Flair then told Nash and Hall that he's been waiting for revenge against them.
Diamond Dallas Page defeated The Giant by DQ when the rest of the NWO came out to attack Diamond Dallas Page, Roddy Piper came in to try to make the save but he was swarmed by the rest of the NWO. The Giant got to his feet and the NWO encouraged The Giant to chokeslam Piper, but Hogan told The Giant one more thing before The Giant could do it. Hogan then nailed Piper in the hip with the steel chair. DDP tried to help but Hogan knocked him out with the chair in the head. Giant then grabbed Piper and hesistated by chokeslamming him and then he let Piper go with the NWO shocked. Hogan and the rest of the NWO confronted The Giant with this. Hogan told Giant that he dropped the ball again and said that The Giant was on his third strike and that The Giant was gone from NWO. Hogan slapped The Giant and then The Giant threatened to chokeslam Hogan and threatened the NWO to leave the ring. Hogan tried to forgive The Giant and The Giant let him go, Hogan then told The Giant he was sorry and then Hogan told the NWO to get The Giant. The Giant did his best to fight them off and did by chokeslamming Shark and Vincent and Marcus Bagwell, but then Nash and Hall, Bubba and others ganged up on The Giant with Hogan knocking The Giant out with the WCW Championship Belt and then they ripped the shirt off The Giant and Hogan hit Giant once more with the WCW World Title Belt screaming that this was his belt and then they spraypainted The Giant and also Page and also spraypainted Piper's hip who was being checked on. The NWO stood tall as the final Nitro of 1996 ended.

WWF RELEASES 2 STARS January 3. 1997 It's the beginning of 1997 and that means WWF has started to clean house on 2 Superstars being released. The first superstar that was released was Duke "The Dumpster" Droese, Droese debuted in the WWF in 1994 and had a little bit of success until being relegated to the Jobber Role. So it shouldn't come as no surprise that Droese has been released from the WWF. Also being released is the Native American "Tatanka". Tatanka has been in the WWF for five years, he won the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 9 over Shawn Michaels and also defeated main-eventers as well and then was a fan favorite and a villain for quite sometime and also was a part of Faarooq's Nation of Domination until his release, Tatanka was last seen in December of 1996 when he was beaten by Ahmed Johnson. But it looks like Tatanka has been shown the door, We wish Droese and Tatanka all the best in their future endeavors.

WWF SATURDAY NIGHT'S MAIN EVENT - January 4. 1997 - Boston, MA
The show kicks off with pre-recorded comments from the superstars that are wrestling, and the first superstar to talk is Stone Cold Steve Austin. Austin says that 1996 was the rise of Stone Cold Steve Austin and 1997 will be the rise of Stone Cold again, but before he wins the 1997 Royal Rumble, He is going to kick Bret's Brother's ass at Saturday Night's Main Event. Then Owen Hart is the next to speak saying that for the past four years, everyone has said that he's not better than Bret and The Bulldog, well the fact is he regretted for all the things that he did to his brother Bret like turning his back on him and beating him at Wrestlemania 10, But all of that is in the past. He's going to fight for the love of his family because Stone Cold has threatened their family and now Austin is going to have to pay. Goldust and Marlena are the next to speak with Goldust doing the talking. Goldust says that Hunter Hearst Helmsley and Chyna both have it coming because what they did to Marlena is nothing compared to what Goldust is going to do to Hunter Hearst Helmsley and after that, he will become the WWF Intercontinental Champion again and Hunter will never forget the name of Goldust. Hunter is the next to speak saying that he ended 1996 with a bang as the Intercontinental Champion. But now, he's going to end this misery between him and Goldust and Marlena will now what a real man is like. Sycho Sid is also the next to speak saying that he has unfinished business with the World Wrestling Federation Champion Vader. Sid says that he knows that this matchup isn't for the WWF Championship, but this one is WrestleMania 13 in the making. Sid says that he's going to do his buddy Shawn Michaels a favor by putting Vader out of his misery and he's going to show Vader why he is the master and the ruler of the world. Vader and Cornette are the next to speak with Vader speaking. Vader says that Sid claims to be the master and the ruler of the world, well there is only one true Master and The Ruler of The World and his name is Vader, Vader says that 1996 was Vader Time and 1997 will even be more Vader Time because at the 1997 Royal Rumble, he is going to injure The Heartbreak Kid for good. Then comments are from Brian Christopher and Jerry Lawler. Lawler and Christopher talk about how they are going to humilate and destroy Rocky Maivia and Rocky Johnson and they are going to put an end to Rocky Johnson's career tonight. Then The Rocky's both speak with Johnson saying that he heard what Jerry Lawler had to say about him. But He's even heard about Lawler too. Lawler is Burger King, Maivia then speaks saying that he and his father are going to make whoppers out of Brian Christopher and Jerry Lawler tonight. The next comment is from Mankind. Mankind says that for the past year, the history between him and The Undertaker has boiled over, Boiler Room Brawls, Buried Alive Matches, Betrayals. But all of that comes to an end tonight because he has his 2 buddies with him tonight as he has the same barbedwire board and the same barbedwire bat he used on Terry Funk a few days ago. Mankind says that after he puts Undertaker through the barbedwire and he feels that barbedwire rip off Undertaker's skin. He is going to love every second of it. Undertaker is the last to speak and says that the war he's waged with Mankind is still going, but tonight he looks to put Mankind to rest. And when Mankind can't answer the ten count. There will be one thing Mankind will do, and not only does he join Paul Bearer and Papa Shango to hell, but he will rest in peace.
Vince McMahon and Jim Ross are your hosts for Saturday Night's Main Event at Boston, MA in the Fleet Center.
Match 1: WWF Intercontinental Championship Match Goldust w/Marlena vs Hunter Hearst Helmsley w/Chyna The first WWF wrestling match of 1997 kicks off with the Intercontinental Championship being defended as Hunter Hearst Helmsley defends his Championship against Goldust. Goldust wastes no time going after the champ at the start of his entrance. Goldust starts to disrobe Helmsley's entrance gear and the match hasn't officially started. Goldust tosses Helmsley back in the ring and now the match is started. Goldust whips Helmsley into the ropes and hits a high back body drop. Goldust grabs Helmsley and throws punches at him and whips him into the ropes and goes for a clothesline but Helmsley ducks and hits a facebuster but that doesn't even faze Goldust and Goldust nails him with an uppercut and Goldust hits an atomic drop and sends him out of the ring with a clothesline. Helmsley begins to grab his title and begins to leave with Chyna but Goldust tosses him back in and Goldust begins to get distracted by Chyna and that allows Helmsley to toss Goldust into the steel steps. Helmsley begins to fight back and toss Goldust back in the ring. Helmsley whips Goldust into the ropes and nails him with a clothesline. Helmsley continues to attack Goldust and even blows Marlena a kiss that gets Marlena ticked off. Helmsley continues the momentum in this match and almost wins by hitting his signature spinebuster on Goldust but Goldust kicks out. Goldust battles back but Helmsley thwarts it by going for a DDT but Goldust shoves him into the ropes and hits a powerslam on Helmsley. Goldust heads to the top rope and hits a cross body on Helmsley but Helmsley kicks out at 2. Helmsley however rakes the eye of Goldust and tosses Goldust into the buckle but Goldust kicks him in the face and hits a running bulldog. Goldust continues the momentum in this match but Helmsley comes back and goes for a pedigree but Goldust catapults Helmsley and Helmsley crashes into the ringpost and Goldust hits another atomic drop followed up by another diving clothesline. Goldust then grabs Helmsley and grabs him by the legs and it should be Shattered Dreams time. Helmsley fights out of it and kicks Goldust in the gut and attempts to hit the pedigree on Goldust again but Goldust backdrops out of it again and Goldust runs off the ropes only to get pulled off the apron by Chyna behind the referee's back and wait a minute The Referee is distracting Marlena and look at this Chyna has handed Helmsley the Intercontinental Title Belt and Helmsley goes to hit Goldust with it but Goldust ducks and kicks Helmsley in the gut and Goldust grabs the belt and Goldust nails Helmsley with the Intercontinental Title. Goldust gets untop of Helmsley and covers him to get the win and We got a new WWF Intercontinental Champion. Goldust has regained the Intercontinental Title for the second time. Winner and New WWF Intercontinental Champion: Goldust
Helmsley begins to come to and gets mad and realizes that the announcement has been made, so Helmsley gets pissed off and begins to yell at the referee, but it doesn't matter. Goldust is now a two-time WWF Intercontinental Champion once again. Helmsley continues to argue with the referee but his debate is not going to help him now as Goldust kicks 1997 off with a bang by becoming the Intercontinental Champion once more.
(break)
Back from Break and Todd Pettengill interviews Hunter Hearst Helmsley and Chyna who is visibly angry. Helmsley speaks saying that Goldust's win was a fluke, a fluke. Goldust shouldn't deserve to have taken that Intercontinental Championship. Helmsley says that he's going to get that championship back, and Goldust has 2 weeks to hang on to that championship. 2 Weeks, because at the 1997 Royal Rumble. He's going to take the WWF Intercontinental Championship back and he will make history by becoming a 3-time WWF Intercontinental Champion.
Match 2: Texas Bullrope Match Billy Gunn w/Honky Tonk Man vs Bart Gunn The Rivalry between The Smoking Gunns has really been smoking since Billy turned his back on Bart at Buried Alive and this matchup is a Texas Bullrope Match between these two. This is somewhat of an okay match, but the fans are very bored in this matchup that they don't really catch on to this match, but Billy gets the win by hitting all four corners after Bart attempted to hit the third corner. Winner: Billy Gunn
Kevin Kelly interviews Sycho Sid about his Non-Title Match with Vader that is coming up next. Sid says that for the longest time Vader has ran around the WWF with the WWF Championship around his waist, but this is the match everyone needs to see. Now at Mind Games. Sid had Vader's number. But it was just one night that Sid fell to the Vaderbomb. But now it's the beginning of 1997 and it's time that Sycho Sid gets what he wants, Sid says that he's going to do his buddy Shawn Michaels a favor, soften Vader up before Shawn defeats him for the title at the Royal Rumble and Vader is going to find out that Sid is the master and the ruler of the world. That matchup is next.
(break)
Match 3: Non-Title Match Sycho Sid vs Vader w/Jim Cornette Sycho Sid knows that this match is not for the WWF Championship, but a win over Vader can give him a lot of momentum heading into the 1997 Royal Rumble Match. Sid and Vader stare each other down at the start of the match. Vader starts the match by shoving Sid and Sid shoves back and laughs at Vader. Sid and Vader then lock up with Vader overpowering Sid and throwing him down to the mat. Sid laughs again and kicks and punches away at Vader and whips Vader into the buckle and goes for a splash in the corner but Vader kicks him in the face and the WWF Champion charges at Sid only to receive a boot to the face and that does not faze Vader and Sid runs off the ropes and hits a clothesline knocking Vader over the top rope to the floor. Cornette then runs out to talk with Vader telling Vader that Vader cannot let Sid get into his head. Vader gets back in and that's where Sid is waiting as he throws right hands at Vader again. Sid whips Vader into the ropes but Vader reverses it and hits a body splash and this is where the WWF Champion has a lot of momentum. Vader takes control of the match and almost gets the win by hitting a powerslam but Sid kicks out. Sid battles back and tries to go for a bodyslam but Vader's weight falls untop of Sid and Vader goes for the cover again but Sid kicks out. Sid somehow battles back in the match and hits a flying clothesline off the top rope knocking down the WWF Champion. Sid then runs off the ropes and hits a leg drop and goes for the cover but Vader kicks out at 2. And what a back and forth matchup this has been between these two giants. Vader battles back and hits a bodyslam on Sid but misses a splash and that allows Sid to grab Vader by the throat and Vader grabs Sid by the throat as well, who's going to choke the other here?. And it looks like Vader has grabbed Sid. Vader picks Sid up and chokeslams him to the mat. Vader just chokeslammed Sid to the canvas. Vader covers Sid but Sid kicks out at the last second. Vader then grabs Sid and whips him into the buckle and goes for a splash in the corner but Sid rolls out of the way and hits a bodyslam on Vader. That's all the strength Sid needed to pick up the 450-pounder and bodyslam him to the mat. And now can Sid get Vader up for the chokeslam or jackknife. Sid grabs Vader by the throat and it looks like he's going to chokeslam him and Sid chokeslams the WWF Champion to the mat with authority. Sid then covers Vader but Vader only kicks out at 2. Sid whips Vader into the ropes and goes for a big boot but Vader ducks and Vader and Sid hit each other with boots to the face. Both Vader and Sid are down here, but they get back to their feet. Vader kicks Sid in the gut and goes for a powerbomb but Sid backdrops Vader to the mat. Sid then sees the WWF Champion up to his feet and kicks him in the gut and it looks like he's going to go for the jackknife. Sid attempts the jackknife powerbomb but Vader throws him straight into the buckle and rams his head into Sid's ribs. Vader very desperate here in this match, he doesn't wanna lose his momentum heading into his championship match against Shawn Michaels at the 1997 Royal Rumble. Vader runs off the ropes and hits a splash taking down Sid and it could be over. Vader heads to the top rope and he could be going for the Vadersault here. Vader climbs to go for the Vadersault but Sid rolls out of the way and Sid kicks Vader in the gut and he's setting up Vader for the Jackknife again. But wait a minute, the referee is distracted by Jim Cornette and that allows Vader to get out of the jackknife again and Vader throws Sid into the buckle and punches away at him and wait a minute, the ref is still distracted by Jim Cornette and here comes Shawn Michaels. Michaels looks like he is about to hit the WWF Champion with Sweet Chin Music. Vader sees Michaels coming and Vader stops Michaels by hitting a clothesline. Vader avoided the Sweet Chin Music again. Vader then hammers away at Sycho Sid again and Michaels gets up and grabs the WWF Champion and throws hard right hands at him and the referee sees it, so he has no choice but to disqualify Sycho Sid for outside intereference. Winner By DQ: Vader
Michaels continues to lay in those right hands on the WWF Champion and knocks him out of the ring with a flying forearm and Vader gets out of the ring and look at this Sycho Sid grabs Michaels by his shirt and begins to scream at him telling Shawn that Shawn just cost Sid his match against Vader. Shawn and Sid begin to argue, it looks like tensions may flair here between these two, Sid then shoves Shawn to the mat similar to what he did at Madison Square Garden at Survivor Series. Sid has snapped again. And Sid realizes what he's done and begins to help Shawn but Shawn doesn't want to have any of it and tells Sid to leave him alone as Shawn walks out of the ring by himself. It seems like the friendship between Shawn Michaels and Sycho Sid is no more, but we will see Shawn Michaels later tonight when he and Bret Hart have that face to face confrontation again.

Match 4: 6-Man Tag Team Match Ahmed Johnson, Jake Roberts and Marc Mero w/Sable vs Faarooq and The Public Enemy w/Mabel and Slick Obviously a lot of animosity between Ahmed Johnson and Faarooq, these two will meet one on one at the 1997 Royal Rumble, but tonight. Ahmed has partners to back him up, the match starts off with Mero and Rocco. Mero begins to throw right hands at the big man but Rocco shoves him to the mat and Mero eventually hits Rocco with a dropkick knocking him down. Mero then makes the tag to Ahmed and Ahmed hammers away at Rocco and whips him into the ropes nailing him with a high back body drop and takes down Rock with a clothesline. Ahmed grabs both The Public Enemy's heads together and delivers a double headbutt to both men. Ahmed then makes the tag to Jake and Jake and Ahmed whip Rocco into the ropes and hit a double clothesline. Ahmed's team work well in this match for a bit until The Nation of Domination take the momentum again with Faarooq catching Mero in mid air with a spinebuster as Mero attempted a cross body on the outside. And the Nation do a great job in wearing down Mero. Mero tries to fight them off but Rock shoves him down to the mat with a powerslam. Rock goes for the cover but Mero kicks out at 2. Mero eventually makes the hot tag to Ahmed after Mero hit Faarooq with a Missile Dropkick. Ahmed then comes in a house of fire and hits Rock and Rocco with a pair of spinebusters. Mabel comes in only to receive the same fate as The referee checks on Mero. Ahmed then knocks Faarooq over the top rope and gets out of the ring and throws him into the steel steps. Ahmed begins to choke away at Faarooq, meanwhile the referee is distracted by Slick and wait a minute it looks like Crush is out there. Ahmed got the tag to Roberts so Roberts & Rocco are the legal men. Roberts nails Rocco with the DDT, But the referee is still distracted by Slick and Crush comes in and nails Roberts with a heart punch, What?. Crush just hit Roberts with the heart punch. It looks like Crush has pledged his allegiance to the Nation of Domination. But wait a second, Rocco isn't the legal man. Faarooq is, Faarooq grabs Roberts and hits the Dominator and pins him to get the win. Winners: The Nation of Domination
After the match. Ahmed and Mero come in to try to fend off the Nation of Domination only to be beaten up by Crush, Faarooq and The Public Enemy. Faarooq then grabs his leather strap and whips Ahmed several times with it while The Nation are still beating up Jake Roberts & Mero. Mabel then hits a leg drop on Mero while The Public Enemy hold him up. It looks like Crush has become the newest member of the Nation of Domination. Now with Crush in the Nation of Domination, it looks like The Nation of Domination are growing stronger than ever. Faarooq and his henchmen stand tall over the bodies of Ahmed, Mero and Jake as Sable checks on Mero.

Jim Ross is in the ring ready to interview Terry Funk, and we haven't seen Terry Funk since he was beaten by Mankind two weeks ago. Funk comes out to the ring still looking bruised from that fight by Mankind as Mankind threw him into the barbedwire and also thumbtacks. There's speculation that Funk may retire after that beatdown Mankind gave him. Ross tells Funk thanks for the time and asks him how is his physical being after Mankind destroyed him two weeks ago. Funk says that he's known Mankind for a long time, he's referred to him as Mick Foley. He called Mick his friend. And yes, before they came to the World Wrestling Federation. They fought in matches, matches that were brutally dangerous, And yes, he was also his protege, Infact, Funk will take us to memory lane, he knows he's going to get in trouble for this because he doesn't give a damn if he does, It was IWA. He was a part of the King of the Death Tournament and he made it all the way to the finals and Funk went on to face Foley known as Cactus Jack, But this is where the story gets interesting, they didn't have no ropes, Funk questions Ross if he knows what this match was?. Funk says the match was "Barbed Wire Exploding Barbed Wire Boards & Exploding Ring Time Bomb Death Match". There was C4 Explosives and Barbedwire Board. He will never forget how that Barbedwire Board exploded in his back and will never forget how that Barbedwire rope tortured him, yes. It tortured him, more than it did Mick. Funk says that he's been in wars before. He's been in Hardcore wars and he came to the World Wrestling Federation to relive more of that Hardcore Glory. Funk says that 2 weeks ago on RAW when he saw Foley in his deranged state wanting to send a message to The Undertaker. And when he saw that barbedwire board and the thumbtacks. It all came back to Funk, He spent the part of Christmas Eve removing part of the thumbtacks and the barbedwire board. And he thinks about it all. He doesn't care what sick mind Foley has, Foley needs to know that if he wanted to be hardcore well Funk can be Hardcore too, And at the 1997 Royal Rumble, he and Foley are both going to be in that match and Funk is going to eliminate Mankind and all the 28 other superstars so he can go to WrestleMania 13 to become the World Wrestling Federation Champion. Funk then says that he would wish his friend Mick Foley luck against The Undertaker, but the truth is. He's not going to need it. Then just as Funk leaves the ring and goes to shake hands with the fans. Stone Cold's music hits as he prepares to get ready for his one on one battle with Owen Hart. Austin then stares down Funk and laughs at him and Funk just walks away. Stone Cold then poses for the fans as Saturday Night's Main Event takes another commercial break.
(break)
Match 5: Stone Cold Steve Austin vs Owen Hart w/British Bulldog Should be an instant classic in the second half of Saturday Night's Main Event as the 1996 King of The Ring Winner Stone Cold Steve Austin takes on one half of the WWF Tag Team Champions, Owen Hart. Austin wastes no time going right for Owen in Owen's entrance and Owen takes down Austin and throws several punches at him and whips him into the ropes and nails a high back body drop and sends him out of the ring with a clothesline. Owen continues to take it to Austin in the middle of the match but Austin fights back by delivering a chop block to Owen. Austin whips Owen into the ropes and hits a modified thesz press takedown on Owen. Austin then taunts at The Bulldog who is in the corner of Owen Hart. Owen tries to fight back and goes for a german suplex but Austin counters with a suplex of his own. Austin continues to dominate the match and almost tries to make Owen submit by using the Million Dollar Dream he attempted to use on Bret Hart at Survivor Series but Owen fights out of it and throws right hands at Austin and whips him into the ropes and goes for a clothesline but Austin comes at Owen with a clothesline of his own. Austin grabs Owen and stunguns him into the ropes and goes for the cover again but Owen kicks out at 2. Owen fights back and takes Austin's head off with an enziguri, the same enziguri he used on Shawn Michaels back in 1995. Owen is actually getting some cheers in this match. Owen whips Austin into the ropes and hits a outstanding hurracarana followed up by a clothesline. Austin tries to beg off but Owen is not having any of it and almost gets the win by hitting a cross body but Austin kicks out at 2. Owen whips Austin into the ropes but Austin reverses it and hits a spinebuster on Owen. Austin goes for the cover but Owen kicks out at 2. Austin grabs Owen and sets him up for the Stunner but Owen throws him off and hits a spinning heel kick on Austin. Owen then heads to the top rope and looks to go for a high risk move but Austin crotches the ropes and nails Owen with a superplex off the top rope. Austin then laughs at it and heads to the top rope again and hits a diving fist off the top. Austin goes for the cover again but Owen kicks out. Austin grabs Owen and attempts a piledriver but Owen counters out of it and whips him into the ropes and goes for a back body drop but Austin kicks him in the gut and goes for the stunner but Owen dropkicks Austin over the top rope to the floor. Owen then hammers away at Austin and tries to take him into the barricade but Austin counters and Owen goes head first into the barricade and Bulldog begins to check on him but Austin grabs him and Austin flips him off and Austin tosses Owen back in the ring and Austin throws right hands at Owen and Owen blocks some of Austin's right hands and whips him into the ropes but Austin reverses it and Owen inadverently gets The Bulldog and that allows Austin to roll Owen up to get the victory. Austin has won this by highway robbery. Winner: Stone Cold Steve Austin
Austin begins to laugh at his victory as he got one over again on The Hart Family sending a message to Bret Hart. Owen and Bulldog are still in the ring beginning to argue with one another and there's a shouting match between these two followed by shoving until all things calm down and Bulldog hands Owen one half of his WWF Tag Team Championship Belt and it looks like things between Bulldog and Owen are all okay.
Vince and JR take us to Shawn Michaels backstage as Vince asks Michaels what we can expect when Bret Hart gets in his face. Michaels says that Vince thinks Shawn is going to tell him, Nobody gets in his face. The Face to Face confrontation between Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart is up next.
Jim Ross is in the ring for this face to face confrontation, he first introduces Shawn Michaels who comes out to a big ovation. Shawn has 15 days left as he looks to regain the WWF Championship for a second time agaisnt Vader in his hometown at the 1997 Royal Rumble at the Alamodome. Shawn pulled off a miraculous victory at WrestleMania 12 in Anaheim, but can he do it in his hometown?. Bret Hart is introduced next as he gets a moderate reception from the fans as the Fans haven't clearly been crazy of his attitude change. Bret will also be one of the 29 participants at the 1997 Royal Rumble Match, so who's to say if we may see the rematch at WrestleMania 13?. JR asks Shawn notwithstanding his opportunity to regain the WWF Championship and Bret's opportunity to win the 30-Man Royal Rumble Match. Ross asks Shawn to go ahead and start the face to face confrontation. Shawn cuts him off and tells Ross to start with him, why not start off with Bret. He wouldn't think of going first because he's not worthy, a lowlife degenerate like HBK to go first?, He wouldn't dare think of it, Let Bret go first. JR tells Bret here's his opportunity to confront Shawn Michaels, Bret tells Shawn that right there is what Bret finds disrespectful about Shawn is his whole attitude. Shawn Michaels likes to talk about how much he respects the fans and how much he respects winning the World Wrestling Federation Championship, Well at Summerslam, Bret was sitting in the crowd and watched Shawn get his ass beat by Vader all around this ring, Buried Alive was a little bit different, but what makes Shawn think he can beat Vader again. Is because Vader is bigger than him, Bret says that at Last Year's Royal Rumble, he chopped the big man down to size and became the three-time WWF Champion and at this Year's Royal Rumble, he is going to win the whole thing and if Shawn can't beat Vader in his hometown, well Shawn will be an embarassement not only to the State of Texas, but to his family as well. Bret says that Shawn hasn't certainly learned anything about respect and integrity, because when it came down to Shawn costing him the WWF Title at Season's Beatings, there was no apologies. Nothing, And that is just the beginning because when he looks at Shawn Michaels, he remembers last year at WrestleMania 12 when he was screwed out of the World Wrestling Federation Championship. Bret said that Shawn promised he would carry the belt with the same pride and class that he did, and Shawn Michaels never came close, Bret says that his 2 sons at home looked up to Shawn Michaels. His Little Boy used to wear his hat, but Shawn found himself in the bottom of the barrel posing in the nude, the Playgirl Magazine, Bret says that he does not even think that girls buy that magazine, he doesn't think teenage girls for that matter buy it, or old women buy it, just because they can fantasize one night with Shawn Michaels. Bret tells Shawn that he's the guy that has degraded the WWF Championship Belt and degraded it right after he lost it at Summerslam. Bret says that if any female isn't 14 years old or if there's a male out there and they had the opportunity to look you in the face and see what kind of a man Shawn is, Bret doesn't think so. Bret asks Shawn whose man is he?. Bret then says that he cost Shawn the WWF Championship and for the longest time he sat back and watched what Shawn did to the WWF Championship, Bret says that although Shawn disgraced the WWF Championship, he watched him defend it against the very best the WWF had to offer and even sent his buddies packing to some green grass and Bret's talking about Diesel and Razor Ramon. And he looks at Shawn as a guy that has no class and Shawn is a disgrace and he welcomes the opportunity that sooner or later, both Bret and Shawn will step in the ring whether the WWF Championship will be on the line or not. And Bret promises that the dancing in the world will not save him and he will kick his ass. But in order for Bret to kick Shawn's ass, Shawn has to beat Vader at the Royal Rumble for the title and Bret can go on to The Royal Rumble and he doesn't care who he has to throw over the top rope, Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Undertaker, Sycho Sid or even his brother Owen. It doesn't make a difference, He's never won the Royal Rumble before. But he's been the WWF Champion 3 times, and at WrestleMania 13 should Shawn get past Vader, Bret's going to get his redemption. Bret says that Shawn wants to know why because he can kick Shawn's ass. Shawn speaks and says that he hopes Bret finally got that bug out of his ass, So let's start with the role model stuff because he's seen Bret on the road and he ain't no role model. Fact #1. And he's got a long way to go, the second part is. How did Bret know that Shawn was on the cover of Playgirl?. Shawn says it doesn't matter how he dresses, whether he's undressed, dressed, half clothed, half naked or not, the truth of the matter is, he respects his body. Shawn says everything what Bret said was true, at Summerslam. He lost his championship, and he vowed that night to win the WWF Championship again. Shawn says that Bret could've been the WWF Champion and they could've had that interview and they could've wrestled at the Royal Rumble for the Title, but WrestleMania 13 they can wait, if Bret can win the Royal Rumble and Shawn wins the WWF Championship?. Then there will be two birds killed with one stone, and they can have the re-match at the Hoosier Dome. Then suddenly Vader comes out by himself with Jim Cornette as he has a microphone in hand. Vader has not been invited, Vader says that there's a lot for me to stand out here because he's played the game with Shawn and Bret and the same game is going to happen at the 1997 Royal Rumble when Vader destroys Shawn Michaels and he just hopes Bret wins the Royal Rumble so Vader can beat his ass into oblivion at WrestleMania 13. But what Vader craves and what Vader hopes is some real, real competition. Then suddenly Undertaker's bell begins to toll in the arena and what is The Undertaker doing out here?. Taker then has a microphone in hand and says that later on tonight he has his final chapter to close with Mankind, but until then, he must address the poor wretched souls that are in that ring. 1. Bret Hart, WrestleMania 9, he will never forget that battle for the World Wrestling Federation Championship, he will never forget that he took Bret's title, But at the 1997 Royal Rumble, it's both of them at the 1997 Royal Rumble, and if Undertaker has to win the 1997 Royal Rumble, then so be it. 2. Shawn Michaels, they've never fought on a PPV. Hell, they never fought in the World Wrestling Federation, but should Shawn walk out of San Antonio with the World Wrestling Federation Championship and The Undertaker wins the 1997 Royal Rumble, then for the first time at WrestleMania 13, Shawn's rotten carcass will finally belong to the Deadman. And that leads him to Vader, Taker says that Vader claims he wanted real competition. Well should he survive Shawn Michaels, then at WrestleMania, Vader is going to be looking at his competition, he doesn't care who wins the WWF Championship at San Antonio, all he cares about is winning the Royal Rumble and making 1997 his year and he dedicates it to all his Creatures of The Night. And he promises his Creatures of The Night that once he destroys Mankind, he will destroy all the 29 others at the 1997 Royal Rumble and all of them will rest in peace. Taker then leaves the arena and just as all three stare Undertaker leaving the ring. Shawn begins to shove Bret out of the way and jumps over Vader and begins to hammer away at him and Shawn knocks Vader over the top rope and both Shawn & Vader all have to be separated by officials.
(break)
Match 6: Bradshaw vs Flash Funk w/The Funkettes The crowd are still buzzing over what just happened a few moments ago with Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart, Vader and The Undertaker, but they focus on the match between Bradshaw and Flash Funk. Bradshaw begins to attack Funk and wants to win this match real early. Funk puts in some offense against Bradshaw throwing right hands at him and Bradshaw shoves him into the ropes and goes for a clothesline but Funk hits a cross body block taking down Bradshaw and look at this Funk gets untop of Bradshaw and pins him for the win and that match didn't even take a minute. Bradshaw is irate, Funk begins to leave the ring just before Bradshaw can get his hands on him. Flash Funk may have gotten one over on Bradshaw here tonight, but will he score the upset at the 1997 Royal Rumble?, both Funk and Bradshaw are in that matchup as well. Winner: Flash Funk
Backstage. Vince and JR take us to Jerry Lawler and Brian Christopher. Lawler does the talking and says that tonight, the father and son team of Christopher & Lawler are going to destroy The Johnsons and put an end to it, and after that. Brian Christopher will be a part of history by winning the 1997 Royal Rumble at the Alamodome and Lawler will lead Christopher to the World Wrestling Federation Championship. But their mission is to get past Rocky Maivia and his father Rocky Johnson.
(break)
Dok Hendrix has the Royal Rumble Report and talks how everything has been going down on Saturday Night's Main Event, Hendrix announces that the rematch for the Intercontinental Championship at the 1997 Royal Rumble has been set as Goldust will defend the newly won championship against Hunter Hearst Helmsley, and also, a whole handful of others have been added to the Royal Rumble, Bradshaw, Flash Funk, Brian Christopher, Jerry Lawler, Bart Gunn, Billy Gunn, Tiger Ali Singh, Crush, Jushin Thunder Liger, The Legion of Doom and some other big names we've seen compete in the Wrestling Industry as they are 5 surprise entrants. Comments are from Tiger Ali Singh, Bob Backlund and The Iron Sheik, Backlund does the speaking and says that ever since they brought Tiger Ali Singh to the WWF. He has been humbly humilated and embarassed, but not anymore. Because at the 1997 Royal Rumble, Tiger Ali Singh is going to win it all and bring the WWF Championship back to where it belongs. Singh says that he's seen both Backlund and Sheik wear the WWF Championship, and they've worn it with prestige, but not the way like Shawn Michaels has won it. Tiger says that he hopes Shawn wins the match, because after he wins the 30-Man Royal Rumble. He is going to WrestleMania and make history by becoming the WWF Champion.
(break)
Match 7: Tag Team Match Rocky Maivia and Rocky Johnson vs Jerry Lawler and Brian Christopher Rocky Johnson last competed in the WWF in 1985, and retired in 1991, but tonight he comes out of retirement for one night only as he teams with his son Rocky Maivia to take on the team of Jerry Lawler and Brian Christopher. Johnson shows that he still has it against the team of Lawler and Christopher in the early goings of the match until making the tag to his son Rocky. Rocky takes it to Lawler and Christopher, but the team of Lawler and Christopher return the momentum in their favor when Lawler surprises Maivia with a kick to the ribs followed by Christopher nailing him with a dropkick. Christopher and Lawler do a good job of wearing down Maivia until Maivia suddenly makes the hot tag to his dad and Johnson comes in a house of fire hitting dropkicks, clotheslines and hip tosses and nails Christopher with a high back body drop. Lawler and Christopher slow down Johnson's momentum. Lawler kicks Johnson in the gut and nails him with a piledriver and Lawler begins to celebrate but he doesn't know that Johnson nipped up behind him. Johnson grabs Lawler and knocks him down to the mat and sets him up for a boston crab but here comes Christopher and Rocky heads to the top rope and nails a cross body on Christopher and Johnson makes Lawler tap out to the Boston Crab and what a victory for Johnson and Maivia. Winners: Rocky Johnson and Rocky Maivia
A video package is shown for The Undertaker and Mankind set to "Lithium" by Nirvana with Mankind gaining three victories over The Undertaker, and The Undertaker getting one over on Mankind at Survivor Series, but tonight can The Undertaker get a second victory over Mankind and finally close the chapter once and for all?.
(break)
Match 8: Last Man Standing Match The Undertaker vs Mankind This is only the second Last Man Standing Match in the history of the WWF. The last time that a Last Man Standing Match took place was last February when Bret Hart defeated Vader to retain the WWF Championship. Mankind of course has the barbedwire board and the barbedwire bat. Mankind attempts to use it on Undertaker right after Undertaker takes off his entrance gear and Mankind ducks and Undertaker throws hard right hands at Mankind and whips him into the buckle and whips him into the buckle again and nails a high back body drop followed up by a clothesline. Taker then tosses Mankind to the outside and look at these two they may fight all the way outside to Boston. Undertaker takes off the protective pad on the outside and this may get extremely ugly. Undertaker grabs Mankind and bodyslams him on the exposed concrete. Taker tells the referee to count and the ref does but Mankind eventually gets to the count of 4 and tries to escape but Undertaker is right on his tail and Taker grabs Mankind and tosses him straight into the steel steps and Undertaker checks under the ring and he's got a trashcan and Taker puts the Trashcan on Mankind's head and Undertaker grabs a cookie sheet and hits Mankind right in the head with it and Mankind goes down, the ref counts again but Mankind gets back up to the count of 2. Undertaker then tosses Mankind in the ring and gets on the apron and hits a diving leg drop taking Mankind down. Undertaker then gets back in the ring, but wait a minute he gets both the trashcan and the cookie sheet at the same time. Mankind fights back and whips Undertaker into the ropes and goes for a back body drop but Undertaker counters it into a jumping DDT. Mankind gets right back up before the referee counts to 2. Taker grabs Mankind and sets him up for the ropewalk but Mankind crotches the ropes down and Mankind gets out of the ring and grabs a 2X4 and Undertaker takes a breather to get out of the ropes only for Mankind to knock him down with the 2X4 and that gives Mankind the momentum. Undertaker gets up at the count of 5 but Mankind continues to bash the 2X4 right in Undertaker's head and now Undertaker is busted open. Mankind has drawn blood to The Undertaker here tonight. Undertaker tries to protect himself from all that blood, but every hit Mankind delivers makes the cut even worse. Undertaker somehow tries to battle back and does so and whips Mankind into the ropes and goes for a back body drop but Mankind reverses it and hits a neckbreaker on The Undertaker and Mankind checks under the ring again and it looks like he has a toolbox in his hand. Undertaker sits up at the count of 6 and Mankind nails Undertaker with the toolbox knocking him down and Mankind looks under the ring and it looks like Bamboo Skewers?. What, this has gone too far. Mankind then grabs Undertaker and sticks the skewers right in Undertaker's head. This is sick. Mankind has snapped. Undertaker's gotta be in pain for that. Taker's lost so much blood, he may lose more than blood here tonight. He could lose his career tonight. Undertaker eventually breaks free of the skewers and rips them off and tries to fight back and Undertaker mounts a comeback but Mankind kicks him low and Mankind gets the barbedwire bat and hits Undertaker right in the ribs with it. My god, the irony. This is ugly here tonight between Mankind and Undertaker. And Mankind looks under the ring and grabs two cinder blocks. What is possessing Mankind here tonight?. It seems like Mankind wants to cripple and end The Undertaker here tonight. Mankind waits for Undertaker to get up and goes for the cinder block shot but Undertaker gets to his feet and kicks the cinder block right in Mankind's face and Taker runs off the ropes and ducks a clothesline and nails a diving clothesline taking the deranged one to the mat. And both men are down. Undertaker and Mankind get back to their feet at the count of 7. Taker then blocks Mankind's right hands and throws right hands of his own and Undertaker whips Mankind into the buckle and hits a few clotheslines in the corner followed up by snake eyes. Taker whips Mankind into the ropes and nails a big boot followed by a leg drop and Undertaker what is he doing?. Undertaker takes the barbedwire bat, but before that he begins to rip off Mankind's mask. Taker then grabs the barbedwire bat and jams it into Mankind's face. Talk about giving a taste of your own medicine. The Undertaker is doing just that. That barbedwire bat has now busted Mankind open. Taker tells the referee to count. Mankind gets back up at 7 and Undertaker waits for Mankind to get up and throws a right hand at Mankind and kicks Mankind in the gut and Undertaker is just beating on the unmasked Mankind. This is how violent this is getting. Mankind fights back and goes for a piledriver on The Undertaker but Taker backdrops him out of the ring and Undertaker grabs the steel steps and clobbers Mankind in the head with it. Mankind begins to get up at the count of 8. Undertaker grabs a steel chair and cracks Mankind in the back and Undertaker is not satisfied with the count just yet and Taker takes Mankind into the barricade and positions him and goes for a splash in the barricade but Mankind rolls out of the way and Undertaker goes headfirst into the barricade. Mankind then takes a fire extinguisher and sprays it in Undertaker's face and Mankind hits Undertaker in the head with the fire extinguisher. Mankind thinks he's won, but tells the referee to stop the count. Mankind grabs a steel chair and places it on Undertaker's chest and hits an elbow drop off the apron. Both men are putting their bodies on the line here tonight. And Mankind goes on the apron again and attempts it again but Undertaker throws the chair in Mankind's face. Mankind and Taker both get to their feet and they begin to fight towards the Spanish Announce Table. Mankind then lays Undertaker on the table and Mankind heads to the top rope but Undertaker gets to his feet and hip throws him crashing the Spanish Announce Table breaking him in half. And this match has to be over. This fight has to be over. Mankind suddenly gets up at 9 and Undertaker is in shock and Taker tosses Mankind in the ring and Undertaker grabs Mankind by the throat and sets him up for the chokeslam but Mankind knees him in the gut and nails him with the double arm DDT and Mankind begins to set up the barbedwire board. Undertaker gets up at the count of 7. Mankind grabs Undertaker and tries to whip him through the barbedwire board but Undertaker throws him right into the barbedwire board and Mankind is in pain. That barbedwire board might be ripping the flesh off of Mankind and Mankind is down, Undertaker thinks he's won, but Mankind gets up at 8 and Undertaker is shocked again. Undertaker is thinking to himself what does he have to do to keep Mankind down. Taker throws right hands at Mankind and whips him into the ropes and goes for a clothesline but Mankind ducks and hits a bulldog on Undertaker that it breaks the cinder blocks hard. This is absolute violence between these two intense rivals. Undertaker gets to his feet at the count of 8 and Mankind gets out of the ring and begins to grab a sandbag. What could be in that sandbag?, Yes, you guessed it folks. Thumbtacks. What else is going to happen in this match?. Mankind gets Undertaker to his feet and punches away at him and Mankind charges at The Phenom only for Undertaker to backdrop him onto the tacks and Mankind is a human pin cushion. Mankind begins to scream and Mankind gets up only for Taker to chokeslam him to the mat with the tacks still in Mankind's body. We've seen it all here tonight. Mankind gets up at the count of 8 and Undertaker still can't believe it. Taker scoops Mankind up and goes for the tombstone piledriver but Mankind counters it and hits the mandible claw on The Undertaker and Undertaker may be passed out here but there are no submissions and no pinfalls in this matchup and Undertaker goes down. Mankind begins to laugh thinking that he's won the match. Then suddenly Undertaker gets up at the count of 8. Undertaker gets to his feet and Mankind puts the barbedwire board on and wait a minute there's Terry Funk. Mankind looks like he's seen a ghost as he sees Terry Funk, the man who Mankind beat with the barbedwire board, thumbtacks and a barbedwire bat a few weeks ago. Funk tells Mankind to come and finish the job against him. Mankind then waves him off but look at Undertaker, he scoops Mankind up and grabs him and tombstones him straight onto the barbedwire board and that has to be it for good finally. This has been a wild and intense battle, the referee counts 10 and he awards the victory to The Undertaker. Winner: The Undertaker
What a victory for The Undertaker at the start of 1997 ending Saturday Night's Main Event, it looks like The Undertaker has gotten things back on track, Mankind may have gotten 3 victories over The Undertaker, but it looks like The Undertaker has gotten his second victory over Mankind with the help of Terry Funk. But what a war we witnessed, we've witnessed barbedwire board, barbedwire bats, skewers, 2X4, and everything else you could imagine, but a Bloody Phenom has emerged victorious on Saturday Night's Main Event. Saturday Night's Main Event goes off the air with Undertaker rolling his eyes in the back of his head as he knows that he went through a war with Mankind and we will be back to TV on the First Monday Night of 1997.

terry Funk talked up a storm saying he's going to win the Rumble. Hopefully we get to see some good stuff with him and Mankind in the near future of this diary. The detail put into this is sheer amazement. The Undertaker winning the Last Man Standing was another historic moment int he feud. Undertaker's gotta make it 3-3 atleast! I also love that we get to see both WWF and WCW go through the wars together. I am really excited to see your diary progress into 1997 and eventually 1998.

WWF RAW - January 6. 1997
Vince McMahon, Jerry Lawler and Jim Ross are your hosts for Monday Night RAW. They announce tonight's main event, Ahmed Johnson and a partner of his choosing will take on The Public Enemy, and also Stone Cold Steve Austin is in the house. But right now, the WWF Champion Vader is in action right now.
Match 1: Non-Title Match Vader w/Jim Cornette vs Savio Vega The WWF Champion Vader is looking to dominate 1997 in a big way just like he dominated 1996. Vega gets a little bit of offense against the champion but Vader is just too overpowerful and squashes Vega and hits him with not one, not two but three powerbombs and then follows it up with the Vader Bomb to get the victory. Winner: Vader
After The Match. Cornette picks up a microphone but the WWF Champion snatches it from him and begins to speak. Vader says that at the 1997 Royal Rumble, he is going to crush the boyhood dream Shawn Michaels once had just like he did at Summerslam and just like he did at Buried Alive. Not only is he going to break the heart of Shawn Michaels, but break the soul of Shawn Michaels and make him retire, Vader says that 1996 was the year of Vadertime. He beat The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart. And 1997 is now the year of Vader Time again and there ain't a god damn thing Shawn or anyone of the WWF Superstars can do about it.
Dok Hendrix gives us the Royal Rumble Report. He talks about the 30-Man Royal Rumble Match, but this time Hendrix announces two more Royal Rumble entries. Yokozuna and Fatu, and also Making his one-time WWF Debut will be Legendary Texas Wrestler Mil Mascaras and also Japanese Wrestler Hayabasu and the new hottest free agent of the World Wrestling Federation, Yoshihiro Tajiri. Then also takes us to the WWF Intercontinental Championship Match between Goldust and Hunter Hearst Helmsley. Comments are from Hunter Hearst Helmsley, Helmsley says that at Saturday Night's Main Event, he was robbed out of the WWF Intercontinental Championship. That Gold freak stole his title because he knows that Helmsley's better than him and that's going to happen at the 1997 Royal Rumble when Helmsley makes history by becoming the first-ever three time WWF Intercontinental Champion.
(break) A clip is shown promoting The Headbangers again saying that they are rocking their way to the World Wrestling Federation and they will moshpit everybody. Match 2: The Legion of Doom vs Sonny Rogers and Burt Centeno The Legion of Doom put on a complete squash as they dominate this Tag Team Match with their legendary moves and finish off Centeno by hitting the Doomsday Device to get the victory sending a message to Owen Hart and The British Bulldog of what's to come at the 1997 Royal Rumble. Winners: The Legion of Doom (break) A clip is shown of the brutal Last Man Standing Match at Saturday Night's Main Event between The Undertaker and Mankind, this match had everything, Mankind brought in the barbedwire board and the barbedwire bat and even skewers putting the skewers in The Phenom's head. But with intereference by Terry Funk. The Undertaker was able to win this Last Man Standing Match War.
Mankind is backstage in his boiler room talking about his match with The Undertaker and Terry Funk. Mankind says he was almost four for four, he almost beat The Undertaker at his own game. He gave everything The Undertaker could possibly give him and he liked the pain. He liked every bit of it, but what he didn't like was Terry Funk costing him the match. Mankind says that he heard everything Funk said about him and Funk is right. Mick Foley is Mankind. Mankind went through the pain as Cactus Jack when him and Terry Funk wrestled in Japan through barbedwire and explosives, but he would do it all over again. But now, this whole thing between him and Terry Funk has gone way too personal in the World Wrestling Federation and Mankind is going to throw Terry Funk out of the Royal Rumble and then he's going to WrestleMania 13 to become the World Wrestling Federation Champion and he hopes everyone not only has a nice day, but a nice 1997. Match 3: Sycho Sid vs Nick Barberry Just like The Legion of Doom. Sycho Sid gets in a complete squash on Barberry as he hits him with the jackknife to get the victory. Sid seems to be one of the favorites to win the 1997 Royal Rumble. Winner: Sycho Sid
(break) Jim Ross is in the ring with Stone Cold Steve Austin as he is ready to be interviewed about the 1997 Royal Rumble Match. Ross speaks saying that next week, one of the thirty participants will win the right to be the #30 entrant in a eight-man battle royal. But Stone Cold has chosen not to participate and why?. Austin says why, is because he doesn't want the #30 spot, he wants to prove to the world that he can win the 1997 Royal Rumble, so with that. He is going to enter the Royal Rumble as the #1 entrant. Because he wants to become the first man to eliminate all 29 superstars and go to WrestleMania to become the World Wrestling Federation Champion. Austin says that he told everyone from the get go that at the 1996 King of The Ring that he was serving notice to everyone and he damn well made 1996 his mark. But now, 1997 has just begun and Stone Cold Steve Austin is ready for change. His loss over Bret Hart at Survivor Series didn't mean a damn thing, because the son of a bitch got lucky, but at the 1997 Royal Rumble, he is going to get his payback over Bret Hart, and if anyone tries to dare to eliminate Stone Cold, well their ass will belong to Stone Cold Steve Austin. Ross says for the past 4 years since the Royal Rumble began in 1988 and since 1993. 4 men have earned the right to win the Royal Rumble and successfully won the WWF Championship at WrestleMania 13. Is Stone Cold going to be the fifth man to win it?. Austin says that JR bets his ass he will, Does JR know that he is the 1996 King of The Ring, and he is going to become the first man to win the King of The Ring and The Royal Rumble at the same time, because there's no man that can stop him, And he is going to become the #1 entry and toss all 29 superstars over the top rope. Then suddenly Bret Hart appears on the entryway and tells Austin if that is all he was saying. Did he hear Stone Cold say he wanted to be the #1 entrant. Well, if memory serves him correct. Bret's entered #1 twice and he never won the whole thing at #1. They say winning the Royal Rumble as the #1 entrant is impossible. But however. Austin may not have to worry about Bret Hart because Bret Hart is going to be in that Battle Royal Match next week and he doesn't care who he has to get through, he's going to win that #30 spot. But as for Austin, he hopes he never has to see Austin in that match and he hopes that Austin doesn't toss him over the top rope to the floor because he had a bad year in 1996. At WrestleMania, he got jobbed out of the World Wrestling Federation Championship, but at WrestleMania 13. If Bret wins the Royal Rumble, he's going to get his chance at redemption. Bret says after he wins the Battle Royal, he will become the #30 entrant and if Stone Cold is lucky to stay at #1. He will eliminate him and he will prove to Austin and all the 29 superstars that he is the best there is, the best there was and the best there ever will be. Austin then cuts him off and tells Bret that all the crap he's said is nothing compared to what he can do at the Royal Rumble to Bret Hart, Survivor Series was the beginning. But the Royal Rumble is going to be the end for Bret Hart when he tosses Bret Hart over the top rope and there ain't a damn thing Bret can do about it and that's the bottom line cause Stone Cold said so. Bret cuts Austin off and tells Austin that there's a damn thing he can do about it, he is going to eliminate Austin and that is the bottom line because The Hitman said so. Bret stares down Austin as RAW takes another commercial break. (break) Match 4: Tag Team Match The Public Enemy w/Faarooq, Crush, Mabel and Slick vs Ahmed Johnson and The Undertaker Ahmed's surprise partner turned out to be a huge surprise as The Undertaker was revealed as Ahmed's partner. The Undertaker is still bandaged up from what happened at Saturday Night's Main Event. Ahmed starts the match off with Rocco with Rocco going to work on Ahmed. Rocco whips Ahmed into the ropes but Ahmed reverses it and nails Rocco with a back body drop. Rock comes in and gets a clothesline. Ahmed makes the tag to Undertaker. Taker grabs Rocco and throws punches at him and Undertaker scoops Rocco up and bodyslams him to the mat. Taker grabs Rocco and nails him with his modified Ropewalk. Undertaker has still gotta be bruised up from that match he had at Saturday Night's Main Event. Taker then tags in Ahmed and Ahmed looks to end this matchup early. Ahmed kicks Rock in the gut and attempts the Pearl River Plunge but Rock backdrops him to the mat. Rock and Rocco then do a great job of wearing down Ahmed for a few minutes. Ahmed somehow makes a complete comeback by hitting a shoulder block on Rock. Ahmed makes the hot tag to The Undertaker who comes in a house of fire and delivers snake eyes to Rocco and does the same to Rock. Taker whips Rock into the ropes and nails a big boot and hits Rocco with a big boot as well. Undertaker runs off the ropes and hits a leg drop on Rocco. Mabel gets in the ring only for Undertaker to punch him off the apron. Ahmed then gets back in the ring and hits a suicide dive taking out both Crush. Faarooq and Mabel. Undertaker grabs Rocco by the throat and does the same thing to Rock and Undertaker chokeslams both members of the Public Enemy down to the mat. Taker then signals for the end and lifts Rock up for the Tombstone Piledriver and pins him to get the win. Winners: Ahmed Johnson and The Undertaker
After The Match. Ahmed begins to chase Faarooq out of the ring with a 2X4 he found under the ring. Remember, Ahmed and Faarooq will battle at the 1997 Royal Rumble one on one, Undertaker then poses in the ring as he looks to be a favorite in the 1997 Royal Rumble Match. McMahon. Lawler and Ross do confirm the Over The Top Rope Battle Royal Match as one of the 10 men will be the #30 entrant, the participants will be Brian Christopher, Rocky Maivia, Ahmed Johnson, Owen Hart, British Bulldog, Faarooq, Mankind, Flash Funk, Marc Mero & Bret "The Hitman" Hart" and also Shawn Michaels will be here as well next week direct from San Antonio. The commentators then sign us off.

One question... After the Rumble, are you going to have Tajiri make any more appearances for the company, or even have him sign a deal? I think he'd be a great addition to your alternate timeline.

WWF RAW - January 13. 1997
Vince McMahon and Jim Ross are your hosts for Monday Night RAW. They talk about tonight's main event, the 10-Man Battle Royal with the winner getting the #30 entrant at the Royal Rumble, also. Shawn Michaels will be in San Antonio at the Alamodome as he is with Kevin Kelly at the Alamodome. And speaking of Shawn Michaels, we will get a look between the rivalry between Vader and Shawn Michaels. Match 1: Non-Title Match Goldust w/Marlena vs Billy Gunn w/The Honky Tonk Man Just 6 days before defending the Intercontinental Championship at the Royal Rumble. Goldust takes on Billy Gunn on the go-home show before the Royal Rumble. Gunn gets in a little bit of offense against Goldust looking to wear him down, but however Goldust battles back in the match but Gunn somehow fights back and as the referee is distracting The Honky Tonk Man. Marlena begins to distract Billy Gunn and look at Marlena, she just ripped off her dress and flashed Billy Gunn. USA is quick to censor it and that allows Goldust to sneak up behind Billy with a surprise rollup to get the victory. You talk about distraction by Marlena?. Marlena can distract a man easily to help Goldust get the win in his non-title victory over Billy Gunn. But will Goldust retain his Intercontinental Championship against Hunter Hearst Helmsley at the Royal Rumble?. Winner: Goldust
Kevin Kelly is standing at the Alamodome with the Royal Rumble Report saying that he's expected to be joined by Shawn Michaels at any second. He then talks about the matches happening including the match between Ahmed Johnson and Faarooq. Comments are from Ahmed saying that this is his chance to get at Faarooq, the man who cost him the Intercontinental Championship and almost put him out of the World Wrestling Federation. Faarooq had made a huge mistake, a big mistake. He's got the whole Nation of Domination trying to injure him, but this is going to be Faarooq's Judgment Day because Faarooq is going down. We return to the Alamodome in where Kelly says after the second match of RAW. We will speak to Shawn Michaels live at the Alamodome. (break) Match 2: Bradshaw vs Fatu w/Yokozuna Both these men will be in the Royal Rumble Match as Bradshaw and Fatu square off in the second match of RAW. Fatu gets in a lot of offense in this match but Bradshaw fights back and almost gets the win but Fatu makes a comeback in this match and goes for a superkick on Bradshaw but Bradshaw ducks the superkick and nails Fatu with the clothesline from hell to get the victory. Winner: Bradshaw
Back at the Alamodome. Kevin Kelly is with Shawn Michaels, that interview is coming up next. (break) At The Alamodome. Kevin Kelly is with Shawn Michaels preparing for this interview. Kelly asks Shawn that this is the match and place Shawn chose for the World Wrestling Federation Championship. The question he asks is why he decided the Alamodome?. Shawn says that this is his hometown, when he lost the WWF Championship at Summerslam. He dreamed about winning the title in one of the most famous places in the stadium's history. Home to the San Antonio Spurs to be exact and the home of Football in where he would spend every Sunday seeing Football Games. And now looking at this stadium, it gives him goosebumps to be there. Kelly asks that will the goosebumps be there again when his music plays and he looks at that stadium infront of a large expected crowd?. Michaels says that they won't go away. He's fought to get where he's gotten to. Last Year was a rough year because the doctors didn't think he was going to wrestle, but he did and proved all the critics wrong at WrestleMania 12 by defeating Bret Hart and he was the top dog of the WWF. But Vader took that all away from him at Summerslam. Shawn says that he can give Vader credit where it's due. Vader's a 2-time World Champion. And yes, he's going to be a big star someday, but he is carrying the belt Shawn Michaels used to carry, and it's about time the belt comes home to The Heartbreak Kid. Kelly says that he has not wrestled a match since Survivor Series. This Sunday will be his first match since he won the opportunity to get this spot. Shawn says that after Survivor Series. He woke up a rejuvenated man because he was the #1 contender for the World Wrestling Federation Championship. But all the people didn't talk about that, they talked about Bret Hart coming back at Survivor Series. Kelly says speaking of Bret Hart, what's the whole issue between Bret and Shawn?. Shawn says that before WrestleMania 12 began he had the utmost respect for Bret Hart. And at WrestleMania, when he took the WWF Championship, He wanted to represent the true values Bret did as Champion, but everything Bret said at Saturday Night's Main Event was somewhat true and not true. And yes, he was on the "Playgirl Magazine" because all the teenage heartthrobs and even the girls in their 20s love him. He doesn't understand why Bret would say that to him. But at the Royal Rumble, it won't scare him when he defeats Vader. Kelly then says if Shawn wins the WWF Title, he has to face whoever the winner is in the Royal Rumble Match at WrestleMania 13. Shawn says that he just knew Kelly had to go there. Shawn says that he hopes Bret can win the Royal Rumble and that they can tear the house down at WrestleMania 13 like they did last year at WrestleMania. Kelly says that then there's newcomers like Rocky Maivia, Steve Austin, Mankind and some people that are still in the WWF with Shawn. The Undertaker, Jake Roberts, Owen Hart, British Bulldog. Shawn says that if there's one person he hasn't faced for the WWF Championship, the person would be The Undertaker. Because The Undertaker is down to earth an intimidating superstar. And then like Kelly said, there's Stone Cold Steve Austin. Shawn says that Austin's had an attitude since he won the 1996 King of The Ring. And if he wins the Rumble. Then Austin will get his too. Kelly says one final question. What is the Alamodome going to see from Shawn Michaels this Sunday?. Michaels says, expect the unexpected that's all he has to say. And he sure as hell hopes Vader is ready because the WWF Championship is coming home to the Heartbreak Kid, and the people of San Antonio will be partying. (break) Back to RAW. Vince and Jim Ross talk about the interview Shawn Michaels just had with Kevin Kelly. They say that Shawn is more focused & confident to win the World Wrestling Federation Championship again. The commentators then take us to a video package between Shawn Michaels & Vader set to "Feed The Rich" by Aerosmith.
After the Video Package. Stone Cold's music plays as he comes out for the battle royal match, he's the #1 entry. But it looks like Stone Cold is going to join JR and McMahon for commentary. Austin both tells JR and McMahon that it doesn't matter who the #30 entrant because he is going to throw his sorry ass out, just like all the damn 29 other superstars. Match 3: 10-Man Battle Royal to determine the #30 entrant at the Royal Rumble Mankind vs Flash Funk vs Marc Mero vs Owen Hart vs British Bulldog vs Rocky Maivia vs Ahmed Johnson vs Faarooq vs Brian Christopher vs Bret "The Hitman" Hart. It's a huge opportunity for one of these 10 men as they will take the #30 spot This Sunday at the Royal Rumble. Ahmed and Faarooq waste no time going after each other and look at this. Ahmed just clotheslined Faarooq and himself over the top rope to the floor and both Ahmed and Faarooq continue to brawl on the outside. There are now 8 men left. Ahmed & Faarooq will not grab the #30 spot. The 8 fight for a good frequent 3 minutes. Owen and Bulldog team up to eliminate Flash Funk leaving it down to 7. But wait a minute Owen grabs Bulldog and tosses him over the top rope to the floor. Bulldog is shocked that he can't believe it. Austin begins to laugh at the problems between Owen and Bulldog. Rocky, Mankind. Christopher. Owen. Bret and Mero are the last six left. The six fight for five minutes. Bret clotheslines his brother Owen over the top rope to the floor eliminating him instantly. Christopher also eliminates Mero by dropkicking him over the top rope 2 minutes later after Bret had eliminated Owen. It's down to the final four. Mankind. Christopher. Maivia & Bret, one of these four men will take the #30 spot. Christopher and Mankind work together against Maivia and Bret, but decide to turn on each other with Mankind attacking Christopher. Christopher tries to eliminate Mankind but Bret gets to his feet and hammers away at Christopher and Bret tosses him over the top rope to the floor and it is down to 3. Mankind, Bret and Rocky. Rocky and Bret then fight against each other. Rocky tries to eliminate Bret but Bret hangs on. Mankind then gets to his feet and delivers the Mandible Claw to Rocky. But Rocky kicks him in the groin and hits a running DDT on Mankind. Rocky heads to the top rope and both Mankind and Bret are back to their feet and Rocky hits a double cross body on both men. Rocky could get a big upset by entering the Royal Rumble at #30. Rocky charges at Mankind only for Mankind to send him out of the ring with a back body drop and it is down to Mankind and Bret and one of these two will be the #30 entrant. Mankind and Bret for a good few minutes with Mankind hitting a piledriver on Bret. Mankind tries to eliminate him but Bret hangs on and kicks Mankind and nails him with a Russian Leg Sweep. Bret heads to the top rope and hits a diving fist on Mankind. Bret then grabs him and tries to eliminate him but Mankind hangs on. Mankind kicks him in the gut and tries for a double arm DDT but Bret grabs him and goes for the sharpshooter and he's got it but he must remember there are no pinfalls or submissions. Austin then gets out of commentary and begins to get in the ring but Bret sees him and Bret hammers away at Austin on the apron but look. Mankind sneaks from behind and eliminates Bret to win the match. Mankind has won the #30 spot for the Royal Rumble Match. Mankind has a huge advantage now with help from Stone Cold. Austin begins to laugh at Bret and Bret is just furious. Austin walks out of the arena while Bret is in search for Austin. The commentators get ready to close us out for RAW but they announce that The Undertaker is at an undisclosed location at San Antonio. Winner: Mankind
Then suddenly at the site of the Alamo, The Undertaker appears at the site of the Alamo. Undertaker says as he looks around this place, He sees the ghosts of all the men that sheltered theirselves in there because they fought for what they believed in, they fought to protect the Alamo, and they sacrificed theirselves for the greater good, but as for The Undertaker, he's sacrificed himself. 1996 was a tough year for The Undertaker, but it's 1997 and now The Undertaker is ready to win the Royal Rumble. And he doesn't care if Stone Cold Steve Austin, Bret Hart, Mankind, Terry Funk or others test him. The fact is, their souls will be taken to the darkside and The Undertaker will rightfully etch his name in stone by becoming the Royal Rumble Winner again, he won it 4 years ago and won the World Wrestling Federation Championship at WrestleMania 9 and he promises to do it again at WrestleMania 13. And as far for the 29 others, he is going to bury them all that they can never rest in peace. RAW goes off the air with The Undertaker rolling his eyes as his gong sounds to end RAW.
