1st timers in the line for me are usually basic buys....if I get them at all.the Ryabck & The Shield are a very special case of me getting newer guys in Elite.usually a basic gets the job done.
with legends however I would love to see 2 per line.hopefully the NAO and X-pac aren't far out.Im a huge mark for the AE and want all the guys we can get from this period.
also the ABA Taker we got was NOT AE.it was RA for sure.

I would pretty much take a flashback any day all day over a current roster jobber which is basically all current roster first time in liners end up being . Do I really need a Uso or Hawkins? I only have so much room as it is so I am cool with the way Mattel picks figures right now.

I agree flashbacks could probably have their own line now. Had they picked better wrestlers, better attires and most importantly waited awhile for their WWE line to get established the Legends line would have been a major success.

i think the point i was trying to make....got kinda lost in the shuffle.
I was really just comparing the 2 because they both involve getting new characters. As legends are essentially classic "first time in the line" figures.

I like the "80's" guys, but it's only you guys here and the scalpers looking for 80's wrestlers.... I guess that's why they are packed .5 usually. Don't get me wrong, I'm quite fond of my limited 80's collection, but I don't think there are many more Mattel can squeeze out. I'm sure that is a long list of names that you want to see, but general interest would be very low.
I would love seeing some more early 90's wrestlers, but I'm realistic. The Smoking Gunns, Body Donnas, Savio Vega, Duke "The Dumpster", Hukishi, Bob "Spark Pug" Holly, Justin "Hawk" Bradshaw, and many more may never see the light of day.
I wish the legends and defining moments lines were still up and running!!

All the flashbacks they are doing now are wrestlers who still perform in the WWE either full time, part time or like Bret Hart, once in a while or who are inducted into the HOF. Honky and Liz are really the only ones lately who havent had alot of affiliation with the WWE though I think Honky was on a raw or two recently and Liz was voted on my the fans so I guess she doesnt count.

Fact is, Mattel makes twice as many legends as they make new figures from the current roster. In the last 2 years, there has been at least 1 Flashback in every single set. That's 12 waves. In that same amount of time Waves 14, 17, 20 & 24 have no new characters from the current WWE product. Just something to think about even more startling is the trend in original boom flashbacks. 3 the first year. 2 this year. maybe 3 if the last rsc excl is an old school fig. at least fitl went up by 1 this year. I'm sure there will be more firsts in the line next year. by now every kid probably has 2 of every main eventer by now. mattel will need to make more roster fillers soon. and I do know how u feel as when I collected bca's I missed out on lots of mid-low card figs I really wanted

just realized new gen fans got it even worse. 3 in the first year. bret, diesel and yoko. and just undertaker this year
at that rate there's a very slim chance at ever seeing low-midcard flashbacks unfortunatly. which means I have a better chance at filling out my macho man collection than the roster in my 80s-90s collection
btw I would love for mattel to make the islanders
