want to be scared of the ocean? imagine doing research 3,000 feet down...and SOMETHING puts it's hand on your window. So incredibly fake I don't even know where to begin.

There's nothing really scary about the ocean. Ok, there are sharks. But look at it like this. By the time you see a shark closing in on you, its over. He's biting no matter what. Only about 15% of shark attacks end in fatality anyways, ao you'll be fine! Maybe!
The ocean has captivated my imagination since ai was a kid. So much, that I am a member on various reef forums, and take part in saving reefs by having my own home reef. Which I wish more people could get behind. Once a reef is gone, its gone.
I loved watching the Discovery documentary on giant squid. A 20 day journey that on the last day, they dound what looked to be a 25+ foot squid.

Its not scary. Its life! Its really amazing to think that those 2 paths crossed. You enjoying a day at the beach, the same second a shark is looking for food, and you two meet. Man is on top of the food chain, until moments like that!

the ocean for me is something that is slightly frightening, but mostly incredibly interesting. i've been on a handful of cruises and one of my favorite parts of them has been sitting on the balcony thinking about/discussing with friends what we're floating over. all the species living thousands of feet down is just one piece of discussion. but also think about all the artifacts that are all over the ocean floor. the ships that time has forgotten is probably the most interesting part for me.

Now I want to go read Meg again. Awesome book. There's a museum in San Diego that has a life sized megaladon model hanging from the ceiling. Thing is the scariest thing. My wonderful pic: You can't really tell the scale, but it's a horrifying picture if you turn around while swimming and see that.

Looks like an eel of some sort. Could be a frill shark or something. Hard to tell with how shaky the camera is. Could be anything.

Never found anything scary about it whatsoever, more interesting than anything else.

I looked up "Meg" on IBooks and got a bunch of results regarding the megaladon. "Meg:A Novel of deep terror" "Meg:Orgins" "Meg:Primal Waters" Which one of them would you suggest I check out?

Don't think I've read the one in the middle.
