July 7, 1996.Things will never be the same. In front of 8,300 fans in attendance and thousands watching at home, the landscape has forever changed. In the midst of a six man tag team match pitting WCW heroes Sting, Lex Luger, and Randy Savage against the invaders Scott Hall and Kevin Nash, a third man revealed himself as part of the opposing side in the war against WCW. This man has been the hero of children across the world for nearly a decade. But on this night, he turned his back on them. He turned his back on the wrestling world. The third man is Hulk Hogan. In this six man tag, Kevin Nash and Scott Hall (known as "The Outsiders") were able to dispose of Lex Luger, turning it into a traditional tag team bout. To the surprise of many, Hulk Hogan came to the ring seemingly to aid his WCW comrades. But then he dropped the bomb; in this case, a leg drop against his longterm friend and foe, "Macho Man" Randy Savage. After the betrayal, Hulk Hogan stood beside his new friends as the people he betrayed threw garbage at their former hero. Hogan proclaimed that he made wrestling what it is today and that the fans turned their backs on him. He went on to say that he, Hall, and Nash are the future of wrestling.
This is the New World Order of wrestling.

This is one of my favourite time periods in wrestling, especially WCW. Please do it justice.
