Are there any good ready made paints for a Latin skin tone, a light skinned Afro American, a dark skinned Afro American, and Samoan, like Samoa joe?

I've seen people talk about Testors Acrylic on here. Would that work for a custom Mattel figure? Also, is there just a set of basic colors I could get? I know the hobby store by where I work has stuff like that, but I want to make sure I get something good if I spend the money.

Testors works well for mattel, I saw them in my Walmart(Complete set) in the toy section :/ They're not that expensive.

Thanks man. Also, Skits from Arizona...odds are, only a few hours ago, you and I agreed on a trade for a Mattel HBK head that I will be using for this custom in question. Unless there's another Skits in AZ that like wrestling figures.

OK, I'm new to this and want to learn, i have some questions though.
1. Do you sand the old paint off? Or use some kind of chemical to remove paint? 2. Once it's ready to get re-painted, for multiple layers(more detailed graphics ala Ryback) do you just let the paint dry then paint the other colors or do you seal the first layer then paint on top of the first layer and so on for the rest of the graphics? 3. What type of brushes are the best for this?

What is the difference between Testors acrylic, Enamel and Lacquer?
Which works best?
I used acrylic before and i like the result, but I haven't tried Enamel and Lacquer.
Thank in advance.

Hey, I tried in the help thread in the accessories subforum without luck, and then I thought, maybe the paint thread would make more sense, so hopefully someone can help me with this. If any of you have bought the Mattel kids title belts (so not the ones for the figures, but the ones kids can wear), you'll know that they're gold, but the gold is reflective, so you can use the belts as a mirror. Does anyone know the paint or what I need to do so I can get that effect myself? I'm considering modding the belts a bit, but I want them to still have that look. Thanks

If I painted/put sealer on a figure, is it still usable? As in like animating, playing, etc.

Hello acrylic colors which are best suited for Hasbro figures? Is there a recommendation?

If I painted/put sealer on a figure, is it still usable? As in like animating, playing, etc. to a degree. I sealed all my customs but dont really play with them that much, more cause I dont have the free time Id like to set my stuff up and goof around. Id say you'd be okay with light posing/animating just to be on the safe side

Whats a good way to add luster to paints? Im planning a Sin Cara and would like the figure to have that glittery look of his outfits, Ive tried stuff like adding some silver paint to my mixes but that just doesnt cut it

I want to start customizing. Im on a small budget, i got some sculpey clay, tools, paint brushes for the job but im having a hard time picking paint. Citadel is too confusing not to mention expensive like many others being mentioned here. Hows just some regular acrylics from an art & craft store that have all the basic colours in a cheap set for like £3? Will they do the job?
