I wanted to share my experience at the Tigerfest event which happened yesterday. I figured that I'd create a new thread instead of making a post in the main one so other people can share their experiences too if they want.
I arrived a little past 5 and all seats were already all taken. So my dad and I just had to stand the whole time. Bell time was supposed to be 6, but the wrestling started at around 6:35. Arda Ocal was the ring announcer and Jimmy Korderas officiated some matches. I don't remember the names of the indy wrestlers that were there, but some of the bigger names included Rhyno, Viscera, DH Smith, Tyson Dux, Tiger Ali Singh and Tiger Jeet Singh. The matches were decent considering that this was a free event. The build up to the main event was fun to watch.
The show ended before 9. The line for the autograph signing table was starting to build up so we decided to have a seat and wait for the line to die down. While waiting, I got up and decided to look around for Jimmy Korderas so I can get him to sign my magazine. I wanted to look for him because I didn't think that he would be signing autographs considering he's just a referee. When I found him, I asked him if I could have his autograph. He told me, "later on, I'll be at the table signing autographs" I then told him "oh alight, I'll see you there". I went back to where my dad was sitting and the actual signing started. The line was still too long, but I wanted to see who really was there signing autographs. 9 were advertised on the wrestlingfigs website to be signing autographs, but there was only 5, plus an Olympian. Also, Jimmy wasn't there! He lied to me! lol. When the line died down, my dad and I joined the line. I would have loved to get a picture with each of them but there was literally no lighting and it was dark. Only Tigerfest merchandise are to be autographed, but I snuck in a few extra items because security wasn't strict and weren't watching. For each of the wrestlers, I handed my poster to them first because that's the only item I'm technically allowed to get signed. First, was Tiger Jeet Singh. The worker handed my poster to him and Tiger Jeet was trying to hand it back to me, but couldn't reach. The 8 year old kid in front of me then grabbed it. I thought the kid was just being nice and was going to hand it back to me. I was wrong. He kept it. Needless to say, I grabbed it back. He was also eating a mango at the same time as meeting the wrestlers and also asked them if he could get his hand signed. I also got Tiger Jeet and Tiger Ali to sign by encyclopedia. Next was DH Smith, now known as, Davey Boy Smith Jr. He signed everything I had for him. Same goes with Angelina Love and Sonjay Dutt. Last was the Olympian, who signed my poster and a little advertisement thing she was handing out.
Definitely had a great time. Got a bunch of autographs for only $10 (cost of the poster). The funny thing was that the Funnel Cake line was longer than the autograph signing line at it's longest. I found it odd considering there was A LOT of people there.
Here are pics of my autographs:
Encyclopedia signed by Tiger Jeet Singh and Tiger Ali Singh (I had Ali sign on his dad's section because for some reason, he's not in it)
Encyclopedia signed by DH Smith
Trading card signed by DH Smith
TNA Program signed by Angelina Love
TNA Victory Road 2007 DVD Cover signed by Angelina Love
Small ad signed by Ohenwa Akuffo
Poster signed by the 5 mentioned above and Sonjay Dutt
Here's a pic of the signing table. You can see how many people there was in the backround. Also, it looks like the sun is still out, but it was not.
Thanks for looking and thanks very much to those who read the whole thing
