www.k-e-n.com/dustyrhodes.htmlTo me this is a custom that this guy is trying to pass as legit. The boots don't really match pattern wise, the writing on the robe looks hand painted badly, and finally if Remco were to make a Dusty fig, why not use the same flabby body that they used for Abby, First, Hansen and etc. if this has been posted before I apologize, but I was looking for what you guys thoughts were

That's quite a laughable look for a "real" figure.

That's quite a laughable look for a "real" figure. I thought so as well. I'm even a little annoyed this guy is trying to sell it for $12,000.

I looked at his other prices and he has, for instance, an LJN Sgt. Slaughter for $3500. I think that says it all.

Dusty wasn't even in the AWA According TO Wikipedia, Dusty started in the AWA as part of a heel tag team with Dick Murdoch, known as the Texas Outlaws.

Buddy Roberts head Baron Von Raschke robe - painted Torso / waist of Greg Gagne / Curt Hennig Jim Brunzell / Nick Bockwinkel legs with painted knee pads and painted red designs.
Groan.
In case anyone doesn't know, Remco heads and legs are interchangeable, which is how this guy did this.
Just sad.

Does Wikipedia also say that run was brief, in the mid to late 70s, roughly 10-15 years before the AWA line? It'd make as much sense for AWA to do a figure of Dusty Rhodes as Jakks to produce a Consequences Creed figure these days for the TNA line. Yeah, he was with TNA and in retrospect it wouldn't seem THAT illogical.. But he's currently with a competitor and hasn't been with TNA in years. Do more history before you try to make illogical arguments. Wikipedia is minor details.

No need to get your panties in a bunch. I took your comment to mean Dusty never appeared in the AWA.
I would not expect this figure to be real, but if they had produced figures longer, they may have put some figures out representing their past champions.
Remco put people in packs that were not together, or feuding any longer by the time they arrived on the market, so if they or any other line put figures out later and the guys were long gone, they did it anyway.
It's not like Jakks or Mattel ever put figures out years after they left.
Oh wait...

I would buy that in a heart beat, I mean don't we all remember when good ol dusty had abs like ric rude. Plus that paint work on the boots is fantastic, just oh my gosshh, I would sell my whole collection just to have that figure in my hands.

It's a shame he has to put a fake on (sure it's a custom but he's listing it falsely). He has a great collection even though his prices are crazy!

While Dusty was in the AWA, the time frame doesn't add up. Dusty spent the majority of his time in the AWA in the early to mid 1970's. When this figure was "produced" in 1985, Dusty was in the midst of his legendary run with Jim Crockett Promotions. ................. also, Dusty never had abs like that.
