Hey guys! I'll be honest, I've watched the fights on Spike, every once in a while, but now I'm a full blown fan, but I may be a noob to this, so I was wondering, is Bellator and UFC the same? I mean, they have most of the same fighters (I thought) and another question is does UFC come on Spike as well as Bellator? Thanks!!

UFC and Bellator are two separate companies that both feature MMA fights. Spike aka VIACOM used to have an agreement with UFC, and I believe still plays some of the "Best Of" shows from time to time.
However, with UFC now being with FOX, they are found on FOX channels or on PPV. Bellator is now part of VIACOM, and is shown on Spike as part of it.

Think of it as the NFL and the Arena Football League. Two organizations, playing the same sport, but with different players in contract with that specific organization.

Or if you're a a pro wrestling fan, think of UFC & Bellator like WWE & TNA. For the most part, there's usually a UFC PPV every month. They also have free events that air on FOX, Fuel TV and (starting in August) Fox Sports 1. You can find an updated list of events, plus the channel they'll be airing on on www.ufc.com/schedule. The next upcoming event will be Demetrious Johnson vs. John Moraga for the Flyweight Championship. It will be airing for free on FOX on July 27th.

Welcome to the MMA family.
UFC runs PPV's normally monthly along side of their TV deal, Spike TV first signed the UFC with their Fight Nights and the Ultimate Fighter. Communications between the two companies got ugly and the UFC went to buy it's own channel via buying out... G4 I think it was, but at that time the FOX network made them a great deal. Because of that you'll find UFC content a few times a year on the main Fox channel in addition to Fox Sports and Fuel TV. But to get the most of the UFC you'll be needing to check out the PPVs.
Bellator was Viacoms answer for the UFC, essentially it was a "we made you, so we can make another" deal. Bellator work of a tournament format rather than just having match makers in the way the UFC work. They have a decent roster of guys they are trying to build up themselves and make their own stars. Beauty with Bellator their content is much easier to get to as oppose to the UFC's.
Just remember: Fedor has a padded career. Paul Daley is a scum bag. And Chael P Sonnen is the greatest.
With that you'll fit right in.
