So I just got all 3 movies today for pretty cheap. Thought I'd make a thread to see what people thought of this movie series I loved Mummy/Returns when I was growing up as a kid, thought they were really fun watches, good mix of humour, action and mild horror. I thought there were really good effects and Brendan Fraser was a surprisingly good lead, I have yet to see dragon emperor but have heard it's not as good as the other two. Saw on wikipedia that a 4th movie was planned but scrapped, maybe DE sucked, idk, but they all made around the same amount of money, 400 million, which is really good by any movies standards but they decided to scrap the series and reboot it kinda sucks for me because I grew up with the first two. Anyway what did you guys think of The Mummy Series?

I love 1 and 2. I think Brendan Fraser was very underrated in the role and was the perfect choice. It was Indiana Jones but not to be taken as serious. I thought the 3rd movie was total and utter trash. It was boring and more about the kid than Fraser...plus Rachel Weiz didn't return.

I really enjoyed the first one, I saw that three times in the theater. Just a good movie all around. I liked part two as well. I don't recall ever seeing the third one.

It felt like an Egyptian Pirates of The Carribean, I agree, Brendan was definitely the perfect choice for the role

All are very fun movies. I also recommend the original Mummy with Boris Karloff, a classic horror movie but totally different than these lol.

Saw the first one when I was in Year 11, such a fun film, Omid Djalili was great (despite the small role) the chemistry between Brendan Fraser, Rachel Weisz and John Hannah was brilliant, and Arnold Vosloo was badass as Imhotep.
The second one was good too, though not as good IMO compared to the first one.
The third one I saw only because my Mum insisted, and afterwards even she conceded that it was crap.

I enjoyed/still enjoy the first two tremendously but the 3rd one felt so forced....being non Egyptian,Bello replacing Weisz,meh.....just didn't work for me.

I think we can all agree the biggest problem with Tomb of The Dragon Emperor was Maria Bello.
If they were going to replace her; they should've gotten somebody who was A) British and B) Not older than The Virgin Mary (or at least didn't LOOK IT!)
