I have not followed the WWE in well over a year and as of right now i'm still not in love with the product. But the idea of seeing RVD on the main stage in high profile matches is too exciting too pass up. Monday night's match between RVD and Y2J reminded me of why i love wrestling, that match was amazing. More so for the fact that i actually gave a damn about the two superstars. But seriously, who expected a match like that on Raw? So with all of my fandom out of the way. What do you guys think is the ceiling for this current Van Dam run? Obviously the crowds are still very much into him, and if any were on the fence that match has swayed them! With that said, can he stay above the midcard? Is a title run possible at all? I've hated Chris Jericho's current run/s for the fact that he's done more jobbing than anything else. While it does make sense in the wrestling circle of life, it doesn't make his die hard fans overwhelmed with joy. Alot of us still watch wrestling to see our favorite superstars win matches, even the most internet savvy fans imo. Thoughts?

I don't think a WWE title run will happen. However, I think he should have one. I would like to see him beat Cena for the belt. Then run a feud with Daniel Bryan and CM Punk. I know RVD is a natural baby face but all the people that will give him good matches are faces now....Punk, Ziggler, Daniel Bryan WWE needs some high profile heels.

I wouldn't bet money on him getting a WWE title run. He did once and he ruined it so severely I'd be surprised to see him get another.

I don't see any major title runs for him this time around. The only thing I could possibly see would be the IC title but after hearing that interview that he's most interested in feuding with people who'd make him the most money, I don't think thats Axel. We'll see though, his match with Jericho last night was awesome.

If he can remain as over with the crowd as he was on Sunday/Monday then I see him getting a WHC/WWE title run. He hasn't missed a step in ring and has always been super popular. I do hope he takes the Jericho route and uses his stardom to put over the newer guys, perhaps Ambrose/Sandow/Del Rio.
Also, I hope he works a decent schedule. No Brock Lesnar BS. I want me some RVD on a weekly basis.

I like him working the Jericho role. Infact that was a perfect return to Raw match. The two of them will be in various upper-mid-card fueds, they're there if you need someone in the title picture but they're awesome guys to help get some new talent over. He's still great in the ring, way better than his TNA run by the looks of things!

I could see RVD Vs Del Rio happening now since it's obvious that Ziggler is out of the title picture (at least for now).

realistically I think he is just there to fill the role that Jericho had-putting over and helping younger talent.
Jericho is heading off again soon....so I reckon RVD will be slotting right into his "credible upper tier face" role.

I'm thinking that Van Dam might have a feud with Del Rio for the World Title.

I think since Jericho will be leaving, RVD will put over young talent as Jericho did.

I say no title run, Heavy merch., get those matches we haven't ever had at main event caliber, and hes done. I don't care as long as we get an elite out of this.

Him being in the Jericho role while Chris is with Fozzy would be perfect, but I'd like RVD vs. Del Rio at Summerslam.

I agree with what has already been said. Best case scenario is a WHC reign IMO.
I would love to see him, at some point in the run, turn heel. Ideally as Heyman's new client. Then we could see some real feuds with guys like Punk, DBryan, Ziggler, etc. Most of the opponents Id like to see him feud with are faces, so I think a heel turn could freshen him up. I doubt WWE would do it though since he has a limited schedule and Im sure theyre hoping for big merch returns.

I see a WWE/world title run in his future. He probably came back in hopes to be a big time player.

I would love a run with either the WWE or World Title (most likely it would be the World Title since Bryan, Orton and Superman figure to be taking up the WWE Title picture for the next several months). RVD deserves it, and I really want to see it. At the very least I'd like to see him get an IC or US Title reign. He said himself that he'll be working a schedule similar to Chris Jericho, though, which makes it unlikely they'll give him a title reign.
And I agree, his match with Jericho on Monday was fantastic.
