The Undertaker will not be appearing at SummerSlam this year due to a shoulder injury, and it appears at this time as if his usual pre-WrestleMania return will be more likely for him. The Undertaker's ongoing shoulder issues are said to be pretty bad at this point in his career.

SS will still be great but having Taker & Lesnar on the same show that isn't WM would of been big. Also no Y2J at SS is gonna suck.
SummerSlam will obviously still deliver but WWE needs a strong undercard.

Damn. I was really hoping he would be able to wrestle. But as long as he's ready for WrestleMania, that's all that matters. He was probably just going to put over somebody at SummerSlam anyway, and I have no desire to see him lose matches, so it's probably better this way.

I don't realize often enough how much i miss Undertaker being on every week. I know. The day he decides he can't do this anymore and that he is done for good, will pretty much be the saddest day in WWE history. He isn't really the kind of guy you could bring back for the occasional appearance. It's bad enough seeing him this little, but never again is gonna suck so, so bad.

I never really expected him to wrestle at SummerSlam, but it would've been an awesome surprise. I just hate that they started that whole angle with The Shield and it'll wind up leading nowhere. When he comes back in January (no way will he wrestle at Survivor Series) he'll most likely have nothing to do with The Shield and will just go right into feuding with Cena or Lesnar or whoever he's gonna face next year at Mania.

I've only been watching wrestling for five years and I'm damn proud to have the honor of watching Undertaker perform full-time. If he can't perform at SummerSlam, I'm glad that at least I can see him at WrestleMania each year.
Derek Jeter is the New York Yankees. Run-DMC is hip-hop. And The Undertaker is the WWE.

He won't do Survivor Series as there's not enough recovery time to WM, which is obviously the priority.

he doesn't have to wrestle at survivor series, an appearance would be nice. Say Kane gets indoctrinated into the Wyatt family. Summerslam would have a Wyatt family team which they could win with Kane and Bray being the survivors. The lights could go out with Taker showing up on the ramp challenging Kane (without saying a word of course).
Figuring this upcoming WM would probably be Takers last run, a Taker/Kane match would be very fitting.

I was waiting for this, it'd been talked about him wrestling at summerslam since April so I was still hoping for it but its obviously not to be.
I hope he makes an appearance post rumble, and we have a good 3 months of build and taker on tv.

I don't believe dirt sheets because they are the same ones who claimed he won't make it to WM this year. Only Undertaker and WWE know the plan and I wouldn't be surprised to see him at Summer Slam or even Survivor Series. He looked to be in great shape after WrestleMania and plus he did that charity event afterward which showed he couldn't have been that injured. Lets just wait and see shall we

Lets just wait and see shall we They never said he wouldn't compete at Wrestlemania this year, they said he was unsure and taking longer to decide if he would physically be able to compete than he normally does each year. And they were right because they didn't start his program with Punk until much later than they usually do with his Mania feuds.

He said in two interviews himself that he has no plans on retiring until the fans tell him he's not wanted around anymore. And I have zero interest in another Taker/Kane match, especially at Mania. The novelty has worn off completely. Plus, just showing up to randomly challenge him when they were teaming up during Taker's last TV appearance would make no sense.

I'm okay with waiting for Taker until Mania. Dude always delivers.
